After six successful season, Downton Abbey may be over, but that doesn’t mean its characters stopped existing. While series creator Julianne Fellowes prepares for the Emmy Awards ( Downton is nominated in two categories ), he spoke to Deadline Hollywood at The London Hotel in West Hollywood about the impact his show has had on the American audience. Fellowes is quite proud of the way he wrapped the British series. Instead of leaving viewers hanging as he’s done in the past, Fellowes ended things on a high note. “I feel that if an audience has been loyal to you for six years, they deserve to go away from the last episode feeling good,” he said. “And Edith, especially, deserved a happy ending. I had teased people, with the end of the series before the Christmas special—with once again, it had all gone wrong. But it came right in the end, and I wanted her to outrank Mary.” Edith had fallen in love with a man who ended up inheriting a Marquess title from his late cousin, making Edith a Marchioness, which meant she ranked higher in the British aristocratic hierarchy than Mary, who was only a Lady. Don’t worry about Mary, though. “It’s never “poor Mary,” Fellowes insists. “She would survive the 1917 Revolution. She’d become a Commissar.” What sort of life does Fellowes’ leading lady live post- Downton ? “My own belief is that Mary, whether you like her or dislike her, is a hard worker, and she’s practical. I think she will employ the kind of advice that she needs,” Fellowes predicts. “She would probably have opened the house to the public in the 1960s, as so many of them did, and she’d have retreated to a wing, and maybe only occupied the whole house during the winter.” Many families with stately homes opted to open their doors to the public, treating the estate as a sort of museum. The money raised from admission fees would then help to keep up with the costs of running a place such as Downton Abbey. “My own belief is the Crawleys would still be there, just as the Carnarvons are today [in the real Highclere Castle, where Downton was filmed],” Fellowes said. “George [Mary’s son] would have gone to the Second World War, and of course the fear is that he would be killed. “We know that Mary is pregnant, so there’s going to be another child. “As for the title, I don’t know where it would go beyond George, but let’s hope he gets through the war and has children of his own,” Fellowes continued. “George was born in 1921, which makes him nine years younger than my father, and he only died in 1999. If he lived to the same age as my father, he’d have died in 2008, which takes us right into the modern age.” Well, there’s seasons 7-10 right there. Insurance Company Says Deion & Pilar Sanders To Blame For Son’s Brutal Assault Deion Sanders and his ex-wife are solely to blame for their son’s brutal attack on a school employee – who suffered such severe injuries he had to undergo spinal surgery. That’s according to the school’s insurance company, which is demanding the NFL legend be ordered to pay $43,000 for the costs of their employee John Darjean’s medical bills. Darjean, an employee at the Dallas high school that Deion’s son attends, sued Deion and his ex-wife Pilar in Dallas County Court demanding mire than one million dollars in damages for the brutal attack at the hands of their offspring. Darjean said in court papers that he tried to confiscate Deion’s teenage son’s cellphone – which was being used despite school rules banning the use of the device – and it caused the kid to go nuts and brutally beat down the employee. The alleged assault was so bad he needed to go to a local hospital and ended up having spinal surgery. Earlier this year, the man’s insurance company filed suit over the attack and is seeking $26,000 from the former couple to reimburse the payout they sent Darjean following the attack. The company has accused Deion’s son of having a history of reckless conduct and have blamed his parents for not doing anything to fix his behavior. That lawsuit is still pending and Deion nor Pilar have responded to the suit in court. Deion has publically said the allegations are false and the man accusing his son of attacking him is a liar and called out the man’s character as being shady. But the school employee filed suit in Dallas County Court on June 20th, just days after Deion publically called him out for targeting his family due to their wealth. Darjean said he acted in a reasonable and rational manner when asking Deion’s son for his cellular phone, but Shilo Sanders response was to physically assault him, causing him severe and permanent injuries including permanent neurological injuries and damage to his cervical spine. He blames Deion and his ex-wife Pilar of failing to supervise their child and failing to raise him to not act like a savage in public.

Audit Finds California’s Gang Database Includes Babies An audit of CA’s CalGang database recently found that at least 42 people on its list are babies under age one…and several of them have issued confessions of their affiliations. Besides the fact that at least a portion of the information entered is completely erroneous — we aren’t sure what a 1-year-old could be an asset to a gang — it’s problematic because most people aren’t even aware that they or their child is listed on the database , nor do they have any legal right to find out. Via Gawker : An audit of California’s state gang database, CalGang, found 42 individuals in the database who were less than one year old at the time of of entry, 28 of whom are further classified as, “admitting to being gang members,” Voice of San Diego reports. A human baby typically utters its first word at around nine months of age. It is not yet known whether some or all of these entries might be for adults whose ages were recorded incorrectly. The findings of the audit, which was requested by the state Legislature and prompted by San Diego Assemblywoman Shirley Webster, were published on Thursday. The audit also found that many parents are not being notified when their children are entered into the database, despite a 2013 law requiring they do so. The audit affirms that some people remain in the database long after they should have been removed and that many are entered into the database without a substantial reason, according to VOSD. Weber was not surprised by the finding, telling VOSD, “I’ve heard these complaints for years. As most folks know, my own son was threatened to be put on the gang list, and he hand’t done anything. I hear these things from parents on a regular basis. But I think some of my colleagues were shocked.” So…they just throw any and everyone on this list as they feel like it, and don’t even verify the information on each person? SMH. LAtimes
