First, she was selected to continue a regimental tradition that included donning a traditional Welsh dress while handing a posy of flowers to the Queen. Second, she got smacked in the face by the salute of a nearby soldier immediately after meeting Her Royal Highness. A local reporter captured the unfortunate incident on camera, which was not witnessed by the Queen. But it did result in tears flowing down the injured face of little Maisie, who her mother later on confirmed did not suffer any real damage as a result of the accident. And the soldier did at least notice and quickly comfort the child. So it's okay to laugh, people. No one got seriously hurt here… and Gregory became a viral sensation!

According to Daily Beast reports : Under the hashtag #100Days100Nights, users on Instagram and Twitter are issuing a stark warning: Two Los Angeles gangs are betting which one can kill 100 people—in a gang, or innocent—within the next 100 days. A law enforcement source confirmed the reports exclusively to The Daily Beast on Monday night. The bet—which follows the death of “KP,” a member of the Rollin 100 gang—was allegedly made last week. Gang members say it will remain “on” for 100 days straight—and innocent people driving between the streets of Western and Normandie in Los Angeles could be risking their lives over a game on Twitter. Users on social media have tagged images and videos with the hashtag expressing support for the movement, brandishing guns and firing fighting words. Posts now appear chastising neighboring gangs for participating in bloodsport. The shooting that kicked off a series of violent crimes throughout the weekend occurred on Thursday evening at about 9:50 p.m. on the 2000 block of West 99th Street. A woman and two boys, ages 4 and 11, were wounded after a suspect walked up to their car and opened fire. The shooter is still at large. Police sources have confirmed that the posts online have been taken very seriously, leading to an increase in officer deployment and other adjustments. For the family of KP, #100Days100Nights is despicable. “It’s making him look like a bad person. It’s not like he started this and got killed behind it. He had no control over what’s going on with #100Days100Nights,” one of KP’s family members, who chose to remain anonymous to protect the family’s safety, tells The Daily Beast over the phone. Contrary to what is being portrayed on the same social networks pushing for the hashtag gang war, KP was a full-time single father dedicated to showing his son a different lifestyle. After the birth of his child, his family says he had turned his life around. While he was still loosely affiliated with a gang, the family says he mostly kept to himself and did not participate in gang-related activities. “He was always in his [son’s] life, from walking him to school in the morning to walking to pick him up from school,” says the family member. KP kept his son in sports year-round so he wouldn’t follow in his same footsteps, and even coached his youth football team. His family has started a GoFundMe page to help pay for a proper burial. As the 100 days loom, the neighborhood has taken several calls to action. A civil rights group has planned a community meeting to ask rival gangs to call an immediate ceasefire. “With the shootings, I feel like all of that is unnecessary. I can’t say for them how they should feel about the situation—whether they should go about their revenge or not—I just feel like they shouldn’t go about it that way,” says KP’s family member. Parental Checklist, Student Bill Of Rights Among New Resources To Support Parents And Students As millions of children prepare to head back to school, the feds announced new tools to help African-American students excel in the classroom. A new parental checklist is a framework that moms and dads, mentors and teachers can use to improve African-American student performance and help close the so-called “achievement gap” between black students and their white peers. “Our hope is that these tools support black families,” said David Johns, the executive director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans, “and all caring and concerned individuals who should be engaged in the work of supporting our children, our communities and our country, to ensure that excellence for all is not a goal, but something that is required and a prerequisite for how we do business.” Using input from advocacy groups like the National Urban League, America Achieves and the United Negro College Fund, the U.S. Department of Education’s checklist includes questions parents can ask, like how educators will keep them informed on their child’s performance, how parents and teachers will make sure their child’s school is a safe, inclusive and supportive place and how educators and parents can work together if the child falls behind. Also released was a student bill of rights, a guide to what parents and students should expect in education: access to high quality pre-school, elementary and secondary schools, as well as universities and community colleges. African-Americans have historically lagged behind their white peers when it comes to overall student achievement. Black students are less likely to go to pre-school, and more likely to attend high poverty schools and drop out of high school, according to data from the U.S. Department of Education.

LA Future Concert Shut Down Due To Large Crowds The #FutureHive is not to be played with ! Early today, throngs of Nayvadius’ disciples descended on The Roxy in LA for the last of Future’s 4 surprise shows that shut down Atlanta , Chicago, and New York. Via TMZ : Future is throwing a free concert at the Roxy in LA tonight and it’s not off to a smooth start because the cops just showed up … in riot gear. We’re told fans started lining at 9 AM, and the show doesn’t start till midnight. The trouble started around 1 PM, when wristbands were passed out for the 500 capacity room … everyone went wild. Cops got out their riot guns when people started pouring onto Sunset Blvd … smack in the middle of the Strip. The concert is the last of Future’s 4 free “Salute the Fans” shows. The show was eventually cancelled right at around 4pm Pacific time. The hive can’t be too happy about this! Hopefully Future will be able to make it up to them.

Earlier today, TMZ reported that Foster’s wife Romina Lombardo Foster has filed for divorce. Moments ago, the couple confirmed the news in a joint statement. Both sides claim the split was amicable, which is surprising, considering Arian’s mistress Brittany Norwood gave birth to his child just over one year ago. The story was a tabloid favorite for months, as Norwood sued Foster for allegedly pressuring her to get an abortion. The case settled out of court for an undisclosed sum, and through it all, Romina Foster stood by her man. There’s no word on what caused her apparent change in heart, but many are speculating that Foster was caught cheating again. The four-time Pro Bowler issued a statement today reading, in part: ” After 4 years of marriage, it has been nothing but a gift. I’m extremely grateful for the wife, mother and person she was to myself and our children. “I will continue to be here and support her wholeheartedly on her next journey as I’m sure she’ll do the same for me .” Here’s hoping Romina’s “next journey” doesn’t involve her significant other knocking up a random collge girl.
