Debbie Rowe: Should She Become Legal Guardian of Paris Jackson?

Paris Jackson’s mom Debbie Rowe is back in the news amid speculation that she may seek control of the troubled teen, though sources say this is premature. Rowe, who was forging a close bond with her daughter before her suicide attempt (the Paris Jackson 911 call was released today), is not angling to take over. While she is planning to host Paris at her California horse farm this summer, she does not want to oust her grandmother, Katherine Jackson, in any way. “It would take Katherine dying or becoming very ill for Debbie to seek legal guardianship ,” said a source, despite reports of animosity with the family . Only if the judge makes a dramatic decision to strip Katherine of custody AND Paris wanted her to step in, then Rowe would be ready to do so. Paris could even live with Rowe indefinitely and “it still wouldn’t change the legal guardianship” situation, the source insisted, nor does it have to. “Katherine isn’t giving up the role because she feels it would let Michael down, and Debbie has too much respect for Katherine and Michael to fight her.” Would Rowe as guardian be in Paris’ best interest, though? Vote in our poll:   Yes. It sounds like she needs her mom! No! I don’t trust that woman! View Poll »

Brett Seacat Verdict: Guilty of Wife’s Murder, Arson

A Kansas jury took under a day to reach a verdict in the Brett Seacat case. He was found guilty of killing his wife Vashti and setting fire to their home. Seacat, 37, of Kingman, Kan., was convicted of first-degree murder , aggravated arson and two counts of aggravated endangering a child in the 2011 act. The jury concluded he killed Vashti Seacat 16 days after she filed for divorce, and prosecutors will seek a sentence of 50 years in prison on August 5. Jurors were tasked with determining whether Vashti committed suicide, leaving behind her two children, or if her husband brutally murdered her. In the end, they concluded he did. Motivated by the threatened loss of their marriage, police say he shot her in the head and set the house on fire. Taking the stand for over a full day last week, ex-police deputy Brett Seacat portrayed himself as a loving husband and father to two boys, then 2 and 4. He said he was burdened by his wife’s desire to break up, but continued to share their home after Vashti filed for divorce, and urged additional counseling. “I would never burn our house,” he said under questioning from the prosecution last week. “I would never expose my children to any situation like that.” A dozen of his peers apparently disagreed.

Baby Mama Drama: Deadbeat Daddy Mario Winans Owes His Baby Mama $15,950 In Child Support

Mario is on that n**** ish. Mario is one trifling ninja to be living like a king with his wife and other child while the other baby mama has to fight for ninja pennies in court. He needs that Lorena Bobbitt treatment so he won’t produce anymore kids. Mario Winans Fighting With Baby Mama Again According to The NY Post Music producer and R&B singer Mario Winans is late on his child support payments again, allegedly owing his son Jordan’s mother, Janel Bennett, $15,950. We’re told an emergency court hearing is set for Thursday, the thirteenth time Winans has been called into court in a battle that’s gone on since 2007. “There is no excuse for this,” Bennett tells us. “Mario disappears. He always claims he can’t afford Jordan . . . My attorney has been trying to reach [him] now for a couple months.” Bennett was initially given $4,500 a month but lowered it to $2,500 when she thought Winans, who has other children with his wife, Joy, was having financial problems. “We found out the truth and heard he was living very well,” Bennett says. “So we had a mediation and agreed to lower it to only $3,500.” Winans, whose mother Vickie is a gospel singer, has worked with Lil’ Kim, R. Kelly, 98 Degrees, Jennifer Lopez and P. Diddy. “I just want justice for my son,” Bennett says. Winans’ rep did not respond for comment. We don’t understand how a man works with all those successful people getting check after check and still be broke.

A Lil’ Positivity: 16-Year-Old Paralyzed Teen Regains Movement In Legs After Getting Stuck In Toy Car

We’re glad she’s #winning . Paralyzed Teen Discovers She Can Walk According to The NY Daily News For one teen, getting stuck in the seat of a too-small kid’s toy turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Olivia Johnston-Wilder, from Coventry, England, was paralyzed from the waist down after a traumatic fall. Recovering at University Hospital, she climbed out of her wheelchair to goof around in the children’s play area. Trying to squeeze out of the plastic toy, the 16-year-old twisted her back — and realized she could feel her legs for the first time in months. “I began to panic and didn’t know how on earth I was going to get out of there,” Johnston-Wilder told Cater’s News Agency. “But while trying to free myself, my back twinged and I felt pins and needles in my legs.” About six months earlier, Johnston-Wilder had fallen and shattered her back in five places. She hadn’t been able to feel her legs since. “It was terrifying,” she told Cater’s News Agency of the fall. “Doctors told me that I would eventually be okay, but I just couldn’t believe them — I was just scared that I would never walk again.” But Johnston-Wilder’s experience with the toy chair sparked a miracle recovery. Doctors immediately ran tests to see where she had gained feeling and specialists got a jump-start on the rehabilitation and physiotherapy process, moving the teen to Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Despite the glimpse of hope, Johnston-Wilder admits the process wasn’t easy. “It was tremendously difficult to keep going,” she said. “There was a time where I just completely gave up and believed it would just be easier to spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair. “But with support from nurses, trained specialists, family and friends I became more focused and determined to achieve something special.” Johnston-Wilder, who also suffers from bipolar disorder, has since regained enough strength in her legs to participate in charity runs without crutches. She’s running to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital. God was with her. How would you feel to be paralyzed from the waist down and then suddenly regain feeling in your legs?

Slimmy Trimmy! German Woman Wears Waist Whittling Corset For Three Years — Making Her A Mere 16 Inches Around The Middle!

You ain’t bout that life! Some folks will do ANYTHING to reach their goal of getting slimmy trimmy even endure pain, suffering and muscle atrophy! Via NY Daily News reports : Itty-bitty Berliner Michele Kobke, 24, has worn a corset continuously for three years, dropping nine inches off her waistline in her quest for a slim, hourglass figure. Kobke tells the Daily News she started with a waist of about 25 inches. Her three years of wearing a corset, which she wears eating, sleeping and even swimming, has left her with a 16- or 17- inch waist. “My dream waist is 15 inches,” she said. That would represent a world record for an adult, currently held by Connecticut woman Cathie Jung. It’s a practice known a tightlacing, a community of enthusiasts who tightly lace corsets to achieve such drastic body modifications. Kobke keeps a detailed account of her journey on her Facebook page and in YouTube videos, showing off different corsets for friends and fans. She even sews her own pieces and models famous fashion designers’ corset creations. Even as she closes in on her “dream” waist, Kobke admits there are health concerns with such a passion. A doctor already diagnosed her with some muscle atrophy from wearing the fashion piece 24 hours a day. “I can’t imagine to just stop one day,” she said in a segment with RTL, a German television channel. “The corsets have become an important part of my life. I just can’t imagine.” But aside even from the medical risks, Kobke has had a falling out with family members, who disagree with the extreme measures she takes for beauty. “My family’s reaction to my tightlacing regimen is quite negative,” she told the German TV station. “They say that I spoil my body. But I would say that smoking and drinking alcohol are actually much worse for you, so corsets may not be healthy, but also not really unhealthy.” Corsets have even gained traction as a celebrity semi-fad after Jessica Alba revealed earlier this year that she wore such a piece to slim her stomach after having her children. “I wore a double corset day and night for three months,” Alba, 31, told Net-A-Porter’s magazine. “It was sweaty, but worth it. It was brutal; it’s not for everyone.” Yikes. Would you go to such great lengths for an itty bitty waist??? Check out more photos below: Michele Kobke

Race Matters: Columnist Says Black Churches And The Black Community Are Too Busy Criticizing African-American Men To Help Them…Do You Agree?

Columnist Says Black Churches Criticize Black Men Too Much Is the African-American community contributing largely to the increasingly negative perception that society has of black men? Marcia Dixon of The Voice Online says yes……and she also says it needs to stop. via The Voice Online We live in a society where it seems to be OK to poke fun at and publicly deride men. Whether it’s because they are unfaithful in their relationships, commit domestic violence, don’t look after their children, aren’t able to multi-task, aren’t emotional, are aggressive, OR more prone to commit acts of crime. The list could go on. But surely the criticisms levelled at men, even within the church, is only half the story. Shouldn’t we stop and think about the impact all this negativity is having on the young boys in our midst? Not all men are badly behaved. Too many of the discussions we have in the black community about gender issues focus on the inadequacy of men. Isn’t it time for the negative rhetoric to stop and look at new ways to move forward – together? Marcia goes on to point out that there are both positive and negative examples of black men in the African-American community, those that aren’t handling their responsibilities tend to get much of the focus, which sets a poor example for young black men to follow. She also alludes to the fact that those who are doing what they are supposed to often go unnoticed by the very institution that should be uplifting them: the church. Some of our communities have imploded on themselves and become no-go areas when men have absconded on their duties. Women are left to fend for themselves and their children. Communities where men are absent become breeding grounds for gang leaders and criminals to train up the next generation in negative behaviour. And many young men themselves are bemoaning the absence of their father, or a father figure in their life, with some attributing the lack of a strong male presence in their life as the reason why they descended into crime and anti-social behaviour. Seeing as churches are perceived as the key institutions within the black community, they should be at the forefront (which some are) of bigging up men, and using the platform they have to promote the many good men that we have in our community. Not every man is absconding on his marital and parental duties. The black community is filled with lots of men who have integrity, are responsible, successful in their careers and utilising their talents in a God-honouring way. Plus there are the guys, who were, as described by the Bible, ‘on the path that leads to destruction’, but with either the help of God, the church, role models or their own personal discipline, have turned their lives around and are now exemplary role models. These are the guys are community needs to be focus on. So, what say you Bossip fam? Are we as black people getting in our own way when it comes to the downfall of our men? Or is the rest of society just as much to blame for the increasingly negative depiction of black men?

Ho Sit Down: Ted Nugent Says Obama Wants To “Rape” The Constitution and “Urinate” On The Founders

Ted Nugent is a few fries short of a happy meal. Ted Nugent Says Obama Wants To Rape The Constitution According to Raw Story In typically bombastic language, National Rifle Association chairman Ted Nugent claimed Thursday that President Barack Obama’s agenda involves raping the U.S. Constitution and urinating on the nation’s Founding Fathers by passing gun regulations that restrict the sale of assault rifles and high-capacity magazines. “Clearly their agenda is banning guns, not banning criminals or saving lives,” he wrote for conservative conspiracy website World Net Daily, couching his thesis in the tale of a murderer who was released from prison and went on to kill again. “And their morally bankrupt agenda is wrong, anti-American and counterproductive. Their agenda will achieve nothing except to rape our Constitution and urinate on the vision of our Founding Fathers.” It’s not clear how the proposed regulations pose such an affront to the constitution — the Second Amendment explicitly says it provides for states to maintain a “well regulated militia” — but Nugent was adamant that if individuals do not have unlimited access to deadly weapons, freedom will surely die. That’s a typical screed for the Detroit-born rocker, whose modern fame is more due to his alarming commentaries on guns in America than his music. Nugent came face to face with Secret Service agents last April when he claimed that he’d be “dead or in jail” within a year if Obama won a second term. He’s not been jailed just yet, but did claim in January that he and some buddies are ready to launch an armed revolt against the government. Despite Nugent’s absolutist views on gun rights, his brother Jeffrey explained in May that he believes the nation will move forward with gun regulations “with or without” the NRA. “Let’s see if the NRA and its new leaders step up and do what is right,” he wrote. “If not, it will get done without them. We all have a role here, especially to protect our children. Who is going to be the voice for them?” Somebody needs to give grandpa his medicine.

Kim Kardashian: Nude! Pregnant! Sculpted!

We’ve all seen Kim Kardashian nude . We’ve all seen Kim Kardashian pregnant . But now, thanks to artist Daniel Edwards, we can see Kim Kardashian nude and pregnant. Sort of. The man who has sculpted Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez naked – along with Britney Spears giving birth and Suri Cruise’s poop (really) – debuted “L.A. Fertility” last night at the LAB ART Gallery in Los Angeles. It’s a life-sized statute of the expecting reality star without any clothes on. According to Edwards’ press release, he chose to design this sculpture without arms so that people would focus on Kim’s “voluminous” belly and “lactiferous breasts” in order to “entice visitors to give a respectful rub for good luck and success.” Daniel need not have worry there. Kardashian remains popular specifically due to how she prompts many fans to give themselves a rub.
