Kate Gosselin is always beefing with someone, and sure enough, she’s gotten involved in a new Twitter feud … with a man with the last name Gosselin. The reality star is demanding that she change it immediately. An irate Kate Tweeted recently at Carlos Gosselin: “@RealCGosselin it is illegal to impersonate people on twitter etc. please change your ID and email immediately. Thank you. @Support” Carlos Gosselin hit back at the reality show mom: “@Support hey can you tell Kate Gosselin to take accept that there are other people with the same last name. She may have her panties in a wad.” OH, IT’S ON NOW! Carlos continued, “So I woke up to this and laughed my ass. Not only that. But it made my whole morning complete. Let me put it up in a picture.” He added a photo of himself with the caption, “Love you mom.” He hasn’t changed his name or his email address, either. Kate is far from pleased with the situation, responding: “The per impersonating my child (@CGosselin) tweeted ‘love you mom’ 2me. Whether he really has last name or not, it’s impersonation w that tweet!” “And if it was meant as a joke to me, then I missed the joke – busy being a mom and am CONSTANTLY dealing w ppl impersonating my children! :/” Sure you are Kate. Jesse Friedman just got some more ammunition in his efforts to overturn his 1989 sex-crimes conviction made famous by Andrew Jarecki’s Oscar-nominated documentary Capturing The Friedmans. Although Friedman, then 19, and his father Arnold, pleaded guilty to several hundred counts of sexual abuse in a case that rocked his hometown of Great Neck, NY, he has long since maintained his innocence, and a white paper issued by The National Center for Reason and Justice indicates that his exoneration is overdue. The report, which is titled Destruction of Innocence: How Coerced Testimony & Confessions Harm Children, Families & Communities for Decades After the Wrongful Convictions Occur. was authored by Emily Horowitz, Ph.D. and Gavin de Becker, a violence and predation expert and author of The Gift of Fear. The 42-page report, which can be found in its entirety here , contains new evidence and witness statements pertaining to the case and urges Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice to overturn the conviction. (In 2010, Rice launched a review of the case, which is expected to reach a conclusion soon.) The NCRJ report indicates that the Friedman case contains the 10 hallmarks of false sex crime prosecution: “Police Misconduct; Absence of Physical Evidence; Absence of Medical Evidence; Outlandish or Impossible Scenarios; Prosecutorial Misconduct; Judicial Misconduct; Coercive Interviews by Police and Therapists; Improper Relationship Between Police and Therapists; Use of Now-Discredited Memory-Recovery Techniques and Hypnosis; Police & Prosecutors Fuel Community Hysteria.” It also reveals: No child ever made any allegation or complaint against Jesse until after the police launched their investigation; The first 30 children questioned by police said they had not been abused; All charges against Jesse arose from statements of child witnesses – and all were based on statements made after the application of suggestive questioning methods; Children who attended classes alongside every one of the 14 complainants now confirm they saw no abuse in those classes; There was no physical or medical evidence ever presented against Jesse Freidman; All of the above and more was known by prosecutors and illegally withheld from Jesse’s defense lawyer, and There was clear misconduct on the part of police, prosecutors, and the judge. In 1988, Friedman and his father Arnold were charged with hundreds of counts of sexual abuse that allegedly took place during a computer class they taught in the family’s Great Neck, NY home. The charges came after police found Friedman’s father’s stash of pornography depicting adolescent boys in the house. Friedman, who’s now in his mid-40s, was released from prison in 2001 after serving 13 years of an 18-year sentence. (His father committed suicide in prison in 1995.) With the help of Jarecki and experts in wrongful conviction, he has set about clearing his name, and in the last few years has made headway. A 2010 decision by the Federal Appeals Court for the Second Circuit declared there was “a reasonable likelihood that Jesse Friedman was wrongfully convicted.” According to that decision, new evidence introduced by Jarecki and by Friedman’s legal team in the years since, shows that police and psychologists interviewing kids at the time used hypnosis and other “memory recovery techniques” that have since been shown to produce false memories and accusations. The court also suggested that allegations were elicited from children as young as eight years old by harsh interrogation methods and that Jesse’s guilty plea was the result of pressure by a biased judge who told Jesse’s lawyer that she intended to sentence Jesse to life without parole, a technique widely held to be “impermissibly coercive. In January, one of the Friedmans’ alleged victims Michael Epstein revealed that he had lied about having been sexually abused in the computer classes in order to put an end to the therapy sessions and repeated questioning he received as a result of the investigation. Norwegian Teacher Fired For Bringing Her Blood For Students To Taste Via NYDailyNews A Norwegian kindergarten teacher was fired this week after she brought a vial of her own blood to class and allowed children to touch and taste it, the head teacher of the kindergarten said on Friday. The teacher in Sola, on Norway’s western coast, brought in a blood sample that was taken earlier in the day and poured it on a plate for the children, aged between 3 and 6, to see. “The children asked if they could touch it and she allowed them,” Inger Lise Soemme Andersen told Reuters. “Then they asked ‘how do we get it off?’ so she put her finger in her mouth and the children followed suit. “The parents are mortified, shaken and shocked.” Soemme Andersen added that the teacher, a temporary employee, had been tested for AIDS and Hepatitis B following the incident. The latest chapter in the dysfunctional Jackson family saga is that “Celebrity Apprentice” alum La Toya Jackson has taken over the reigns as a talent manager for Prince, Paris and Blanket Jackson… Via Page Six reports : La Toya Jackson was noticeably quiet when the Jackson family feud erupted in public last summer. But while her siblings battled executors over Michael Jackson’s $2 billion estate, and her niece Paris battled Aunt Janet in the driveway, estranged La Toya, 56, slyly moved in on the heirs to the fortune. She gathered Jacko’s three children and took sanctuary in the family’s Calabasas, Calif., mansion with Prince, 16, Paris, 15, and Blanket, 10. The get-togethers included “lots of ice cream and cookies,” said a family insider. “They needed comfort with everyone showing their wild side, so they watched television together, they listened to music and they talked about what Mike would want. Mostly, it was Toya doing all the talking.” Before long, the gold-digging diva had signed all three of his kids to her Ja-Tail Enterprises talent agency, which boasts no other clients. Prince recently signed with “Entertainment Tonight” through Ja-Tail to be a correspondent. Thoughts on Congress possibly cutting the WIC program?? Via CBS News: “I was scared out of my mind, I was scared out of my mind about his not getting enough,” said Kayden’s mother, Cierra Kelley. “He was two days old when I took him to the hospital. He was only two days old, I didn’t know what was going on. So he went to see a lactation specialist at Piedmont health.” The lactation specialist is just one of the services available through the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program also known as WIC. Kelley is one of nine million WIC participants in the United States. “My mother didn’t breastfeed so she didn’t know much about breastfeeding,” Kelley said. “Any questions that I had she was always able to answer them. I was scared for the first week about breastfeeding, you never know if you are doing it right unless someone tells you.” In addition to breast feeding counseling, WIC also offers food vouchers which average between $60-70 per person, per month “I am young, so with WIC you get food support, milk cheese, things like that,” Kelley said. “You need to keep your body healthy. You have to keep nutrients in your body so you can pass it on.” But impending budget cuts could cut WIC benefits for hundreds of thousands. “There are different things that could happen but in short $600,000 could be cut there are different options trying to run the program as long as possible and then making cuts as we get closer to the fiscal year,” said Heather Miranda, a WIC supervisor. Kelley, 21, is in her third year of online classes to become a social worker, but she does not work outside the home. With almost 60 percent of infants born in the US enrolling in WIC, some argue that the program needs to be scaled back.” “I think it is hard because I don’t think a lot of folks don’t understand at the grassroots level what will happen to these families,” Miranda said. “As being someone who works with these families regularly — I had a woman who had to stop breastfeeding because she did not have enough food to feed herself. It’s devastating to hear that and to know there will be cuts that will make it even worse … it makes me incredibly sad that we would balance the budget on the backs of infants women and children.” If Congress does not act, half of the proposed federal spending cuts will come from defense and half will come from discretionary spending which will impact social safety net programs like WIC. “Nobody wants to see their child suffer or go through anything,” said Kelley. “If they cut the budget short and took away the opportunity to call down there and see what is going on with him, if something is going on with my breast milk, and something is going wrong and I am not able to get the support that I need, that means my son would suffer and that would break my heart.” Discuss….

Tanning Mom is no longer on the hot seat … well, legally anyway. A grand jury declined to indict the New Jersey raisin for dragging her five-year-old daughter into a tanning bed last year, for which she was arrested. She became a national punch line, but Patricia Krentcil won’t be an inmate after the case against her never materialized into formal criminal charges. Children under age 14 are barred from using tanning salons, but Krentcil had denied bringing the kid into the physical tanning bed inside the place. A grand jury must have agreed. Tanning Mom claimed the burn marks on her little daughter’s legs came from the sun, which we assume did not appear to testify before the grand jury. The arrest generated publicity because of Krentcil’s extreme tan and professed love of tanning salons; Kristen Wiig did an unreal impression of her. According to CBS New York, Krentcil’s daughter was not taken away; she remained in her mother’s custody as the case proceeded through the grand jury. So anyway, Case closed. SMH Former Senator Admits To Fathering A Child With Another Senator’s Daughter While Married An ex Republican Senator from New Mexico recently dropped a bombshell on his family and his community when he revealed that he’d had an extramarital affair and even fathered a child with another Senator’s daughter when she was just 24-years-old. via ABC News Former New Mexico Senator Pete Domenici revealed today that he fathered a son in an extramarital affair with another senator’s daughter more than 30 years ago and has kept the secret since then, only telling his own family in the last “several months.” In a statement to the Albuquerque Journal, the 80-year-old Republican, who represented New Mexico for more than 30 years, said the mother of his son “made me pledge that we would never reveal that parenthood and I have tried to honor that pledge and so has she.” Domenici wrote that he was worried about the privacy of his son, a 34-year-old Nevada lawyer named Adam Laxalt, as well as the potential impact on Laxalt’s mother, Michelle Laxalt, 58. Domenici has eight other children with his wife Nancy. “My past action has caused hurt and disappointment to my wife, children, family, and others. For that I am solely responsible,” Domenici, who still lives in Washington, D.C., said in the statement. “My family has been aware of these events for several months. I have apologized as best as I can to my wife, and we have worked together to strengthen our relationship. I deeply regret this and am very sorry for my behavior. War Witch star Rachel Mwanza is headed to Hollywood, and she’s earned her close-up. On Wednesday, Tribeca Film announced that 16-year-old Mwanza has been granted a visa to travel to the United States to attend the Oscars and the Independent Spirit Awards this weekend, where War Witch is nominated, respectively, in the Best Foreign Language Film and Best International Film categories. And it’s time for the American media pays as much attention to her as it did to Quvenzhané Wallis . If you didn’t hit the film-festival circuit last year, where War Witch turned heads and won awards, then you might not be familiar with Canadian director Kim Nguyen’ powerful movie about Africa’s children of war. But I hope that’s about to change now that Tribeca Film is about to make War Witch available to American audiences starting Feb. 26 on various VOD platforms and, theatrically, beginning March 1 in New York City. War Witch is the anti- Beasts of the Southern Wild , and I’m not knocking the Benh Zeitlin’s e xcellent film when I write that. Both movies show us dangerous, chaotic worlds from the perspective of a wise and courageous girl who is forced to grow up fast. Both films hinge on the mortality of parents and use mystical components to tell their stories, and both films convey the message that hope and love can be found among the ruins. But War Witch ultimately proves to be the more powerful film because it is reserved and unsentimental where Beasts of the Southern Wild is effusive and romantic. Mwanza, who had been abandoned by her family and was living on the streets of Kinshasha when Nguyen cast her, plays Komona, the heroine of War Witch and the movie’s narrator. Within the first scenes of the movie, her parents are killed in horrifying fashion — suffice it to say she is present — when African rebels lay waste to Komona’s village and enslave her and the other child residents as soldiers to fight against government forces. “Respect your guns. They are your new mother and father,” the children are told as they embark on squalid lives of killing and dying. Komona is designated a “war witch” by the guerrilla leader after she is fed “magic milk,” a white tree sap with hallucinogenic properties that enables her to see the ghosts of the dead, including her parents, who warn her of impending attacks. Nguyen’s film is remarkably free of artifice and politics, and Mwanza’s stoic performance is its cornerstone. And if I can be sentimental for a moment, her performance has changed her life. The makers of War Witch have provided her with a caretaker and are now overseeing her education.
