The Kennedy Curse Continues??? Mary Kennedy, Estranged Wife Of RFK Jr., Hangs Herself In Family Barn

Friends Say Mary Kennedy Driven To Drugs/Suicide By Philandering Husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The Kennedy “curse” strikes again, but in this case we’re inclined to think the curse has more to do with the Kennedy men’s cheating ways . Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s estranged wife, Mary, who battled her husband’s rumored philandering by turning to alcohol and prescription drugs, hanged herself in a barn on their Westchester estate yesterday, sources told The Post. The 52-year-old mother of four — the latest victim of a family dynasty cursed with tragedies — may have taken her own life because she was haunted by her broken marriage, her friends lamented. “She was deeply troubled, abusing alcohol and prescription meds,” a close family friend said. “She had cause. She was used up and tossed away by Bobby. That was awful.” Bedford police responded at 1:36 p.m. to a report of a “possible unattended death” — meaning there were no witnesses — at the estate. After authorities arrived, they cut her down and tried to revive her. She was found by a housekeeper, ABC News reported. Mary was found “inside an out-building on that property,” police said in a statement. She left behind a note, and none of her children were home at the time, sources said. The Kennedy family dealt stoically with the latest in the long line of shocking deaths. “We deeply regret the death of our beloved sister Mary, whose radiant and creative spirit will be sorely missed by those who loved her,” the family said in a statement. “Our heart goes out to her children, who she loved without reservation. We have no further comment at this time.” A grim-faced RFK Jr. showed up at the house at around 8 p.m. The third of 11 children of former US Sen., Attorney General and presidential candidate Robert Francis Kennedy, he married Mary Richardson in 1994, one month after his first marriage ended following 12 years. The ceremony took place aboard a research vessel on the Hudson River, a fitting spot for the couple, who were environmental advocates. A family friend said Mary had known the Kennedy clan long before she married Bobby, and had been a close pal of his sister — also named Mary, but known as Kerry — since they were 15-year-olds. “She had grown up with the Kennedy family, having been Kerry’s best friend since they were teenagers,” the friend said. The marriage broke down amid reports of her addiction and rumors of his involvement with other women. “She knew Bobby her whole life, and now he rejected her. Tragic,” the family friend said. Kennedy, 58, filed for divorce on May 12, 2010, two days after Mary called police to complain about her husband — but she appeared “visibly intoxicated” when officers arrived, according to police reports. As of yesterday, the divorce was not finalized, TMZ.com reported. But Kennedy has since been dating actress Cheryl Hines, sources said. A day after the divorce filing, Bedford police were again called to the home because of a report of a “domestic incident” in which Mary was reportedly drunk. Two days later, she was charged with driving under the influence when she was caught speeding down the Taconic State Parkway. Her license was suspended. Ethel Kennedy, her mother-in-law, sent a handwritten letter, seeking leniency and calling Mary a “kind, loving and generous person.” Cops confirmed then that they had been called to the estate several times in the previous years. Mary’s close friend pointed to the strain of her 18-year marriage. “She was lovely. She always looked out for you,” she said, but added, “She did not have it easy, being Bobby’s wife. “I remember being seated at a dinner next to Bobby around 10 years ago that she was also at — it was the first time I had met either of them — and he put his hand on my thigh under the table. We hadn’t even spoken but to say hello. He is such a dog that way.” The friend, who requested anonymity, alluded to the problems of other women who have married into the fabled clan: “Like all Kennedy wives, she was expected to tow the line. Stay quiet, take care of the kids, tolerate the affairs and look happy. She took solace in yoga and meditation.” Still, the philandering took “a terrible toll,” the source said, adding, “He got all the glory, and she got no acknowledgment for what she did: holding it all together at home.” Kennedy rarely spoke about his private life, but opened up to Oprah Winfrey in a 2007 interview. “Pretty soon after my dad died” — referring to his father’s assassination in 1968 — “I started taking drugs,” he said. After overcoming his addiction he became an environmental advocate. Mary, who had worked as an architect before her marriage, took up the same environmental causes and tried to turn the Bedford estate into a showcase, according to her friend. “She was a gentle soul. She was very proud of how she had turned their family home into the truly greenest/eco-friendly home ever,” she said. The friend said Mary took over caring for the two children from her husband’s first marriage — and then raised four of her own. “Like so many parents of Kennedy kids, she was dealing with a wild bunch,” she said. “The kids were always getting into scrapes, and Mary was forever rescuing them.” It sounds like this woman had an incredibly hard life. 18 years of marriage to someone who doesn’t treat you right can’t be easy and it sounds like she had her hands full with the kids. Mary Richardson Kennedy Committed Suicide, Report Says

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s wife, Mary Richardson Kennedy, was “depressed and despondent” before committing suicide this week, according to a new report. Police found Mary Kennedy dead at her Mount Kisco, N.Y., home Wednesday. Radar Online is reporting that the 52-year-old hanged herself in a barn, though officials have not commented publicly on Mary Kennedy’s cause of death. A longtime friend, who spoke to Mary Monday, said they were sadly not surprised , as she faced mounting financial woes at the end of her marriage. “I spoke to Mary on Monday and she sounded extremely down,” the source said. “She was depressed and despondent and worried about the future.” “Mary said she was facing financial ruin, with American Express coming after her hard for an outstanding debt, along with several other creditors.” “In addition, she was concerned that Robert was about to substantially reduce the amount of financial support he gave her and she’d lose her home.” Mary was married to the son of Robert F. Kennedy for 16 years, before he filed for divorce in May 2010. The couple had four children together. While estranged from RFK Jr., Mary lived at the family home in Mount Kisco, while Robert spent the majority of his time in Los Angeles, Calif. “Robert still supported Mary and was there for her whenever he could be, but he had pretty much moved on,” a source said of the couple. “He has been dating Cheryl Hines for a while now and they are very happy.” The source says Mary Kennedy was struggling to come to terms with the end of their marriage, despite Robert having filed for divorce two years ago. “It was very tough for Mary to deal with Robert dating someone else,” the source says. “And it really didn’t help that the new woman is a celebrity.” “She would see photos of the two of them together and it would drive her nuts. I think, deep down, she had still harbored a belief they would get back together but it had recently become blindingly clear that wasn’t to be.” “Mary was in a very dark place recently. Robert tried to help her all he could but it was difficult for him to be around her. Robert is committed to his sobriety but Mary had chosen a whole different path to take.” “When I heard the news that she may have taken her own life I was devastated, but not that surprised. It was in the back of my mind that she may do something like this, and that was compounded by the conversation I had with her. “However she died though, this is an absolute tragedy. Mary was an amazing and beautiful person and she absolutely adored her children.” “It is a devastating loss to all that knew her.”

Lady Gaga: Banned in Indonesia!

Indonesia’s Little Monsters, revolt! Lady Gaga, who is scheduled to perform in Jakarta next month, has just been banned by the nation following protests from hardline Islamic critics. The concert drew vehement opposition from many in the world’s most populous Muslim nation, due to her controversial persona and racy getups. A spokesman for the Indonesian national police has confirmed that the singer has been denied a permit for her June 3 show, thus negging the show. It would have been the biggest stop on her Asian tour, having been set to take place at the 52,000-seat Gelora Bung Karno stadium in Jakarta. The Islamic Defenders Front trashed the global pop superstar for her “Satanic lyrics” that threaten to “destroy the children’s sense of morality.” Other protesters, equally enraged, even vowed to physically block the singer from setting foot on Indonesian soil if the show wasn’t cancelled. Local law enforcement reportedly requested that the permit be denied after fearing that officers wouldn’t able to contain a massive on-site protest. Earlier this spring, Gaga’s tour drew protests from South Korean Christian groups decrying that her “pornographic” performances promoted homosexuality. No word if the Lady Gaga hermaphrodite rumors also make the protesters uneasy, or if they’re even allowed to read such things on the Internet. [Photo: WENN.com]

Epitome Of A Bad Mother: Port St. John Mom Murks Four Kids Before Killing Herself [Video]

This one had us in tears. Three of the kids escaped to a neighbor’s house only to be called back by their mom . A mother of four shot and killed her children — three of whom returned home after fleeing — before killing herself Tuesday morning at a Port St. John home, according to investigators. The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said Tonya Thomas, 33, shot and killed her two daughters, 17-year-old Pebbles Johnson and 13-year-old Jazlin Johnson, and her two sons, 15-year-old Jaxs Johnson and 12-year-old Joel Johnson. Brevard County sheriff’s Lt. Tod Goodyear said three of the children went to a neighbor’s house to say their mother had shot them. The mother then called the children back to the house and shot them again, killing them, investigators said. “I’m a father and I’ve got kids. I cannot comprehend a person doing that to their child — calling them back to the slaughter,” Goodyear said. The neighbors called 911 just before 5 a.m. and deputies found Pebbles Johnson dead in the front yard of the home at 7245 Bright Avenue. Deputies then spotted someone at the door and called the SWAT team, who later entered the home and found four people dead. “We have no idea on motive right now,” said Goodyear, who added that no note or letter has been discovered. The father of the children lives elsewhere in Brevard County and was very distraught upon hearing the news, Goodyear said. A friend of Thomas told authorities that Thomas sent a text message around 3 a.m., saying she wanted to be cremated with her children. The message wasn’t received, however, until after the friend woke up, which was after the family was found dead. More than a dozen deputies and SWAT team members had converged on the home and the neighborhood was cordoned off during the investigation. Goodyear said deputies were called to the home for a domestic incident a few weeks ago, but he offered no other details. Thomas has no significant criminal history, and domestic battery charges against her were dropped in 2002. Jaxs Johnson was set to appear in juvenile court on Tuesday for a misdemeanor battery charge involving his mother, but it’s not known if the hearing played a role in the shootings. School officials issued a statement after being informed of the deaths. “Brevard Public Schools is saddened to learn of the tragic deaths of four of its students. The police have released the students’ names and crisis teams/grief counselors have been sent to the respective schools to help students, faculty and staff deal with this heartbreaking news,” school officials said. It’s a cold world but sometimes it’s not what’s outside that gets us. Just heartbreaking. Video and photos below: Source Photo Credit: Brevard County Reporter

Why Howard Stern Is The Perfect ‘America’s Got Talent’ Judge

‘All these articles talk about how I’ve changed and I’m like, ‘Good, I hope I’ve changed,’ ‘ Stern says about his bad-boy reputation. By Gil Kaufman Howard Stern Photo: MTV News Settle down, America. Regardless of what you think of segments like “Hottest Chick with the Oldest Dude” or the “Tiger Woods Mistress Beauty Pageant,” new “America’s Got Talent” judge Howard Stern is not going to bring his X-rated antics to prime-time television. Stern starts his run as a judge on the popular reality competition
show on Monday (May 14) night and before viewing even one minute of his family-hour act some critics have already decided he’s going to turn the 8 p.m. hour into a non-stop cavalcade of strippers, four-letter words and bathroom humor. If you’ve listened at all to Stern’s SiriusXM radio show over the past six months, the original radio rebel has made it clear that he has only one intention: to be the best, most honest judge on TV. Stern is an obsessive about many things: his career-long nemesis Don Imus, his quirky bathroom habits, babysitter porn, the weight gains and losses and internecine feuds among his staff members and, yes, judges on reality series. As much as he’d love to find better uses for his time, Howard is drawn like a magnet to “American Idol,” “Dancing With the Stars” and various other shows where, frankly, he thinks the judges are lousy, lazy, dishonest and just kind of lame. “AGT” is Stern’s chance to prove that he is willing to put up or shut up. This is the man, you may recall, who has spent decades trying to convince America that he is a poorly endowed, paunchy lover who has never satisfied a woman. How much more honest can you be? He knows better not just as a father of three seemingly well-adjusted adult daughters, but as a professional broadcaster and 30-plus year veteran in the game. There’s a time and a place for everything and “AGT” is not the forum for the Wack Pack and the adult word of Stern. This is a guy, after all, whose first movie was a hit, but who has spent the ensuing 20-plus years reading scripts and discarding them because they didn’t ring true or feel right for him. Every move he makes is meticulously dissected, over-thought and ruminated over both on and off the air. The neurotic, locker room Howard Stern character of the radio is not the same Howard you are going to see on TV. Because who in their right mind would humiliate a child on TV as some have suggested Stern might do? If anything, given his moral compass, Howard is more likely to go after the greedy, self-involved “Toddlers and Tiaras”-style parents that put their children up to audition for transparently selfish reasons. And who could argue with that? That’s not even mentioning the fact that “AGT” picked up the entire production and moved it to New York to accommodate Stern’s radio show. Combine that with a reported $20 million payday, and, let’s assume, an iron-clad morals clause, and there’s virtually no incentive for Stern to go off-script and try to tank the show by crossing streams with his more sordid radio world. Why would Stern spend his life building a brand, only to go on TV and pull some kind of Andy Kaufman stunt and blow it apart just to be shocking? That’s not shocking. That’s self-destructive, bad business and frankly, just stupid. If there’s anything I’ve learned after listening to Stern for the past two decades it’s that he will pick fights with management and complain and lash out, he will stomp his feet, vent his spleen and complain ad nauseum about being treated poorly, but he will not embarrass himself or do anything that could tarnish the legacy of what he’s so painstakingly built for himself and his audience. (Okay, Fartman was not his best moment, but still, c’mon, it was still pretty hilarious.) He wants you to love him, needs you to love him and after hit radio shows, movies, books and television production credits, what better way to do that than to once again prove his detractors wrong and conquer the one medium he’s got left on his bucket list: star of prime time TV? Plus, he loves to win, lives to win, and he knows that with this move he can’t lose. There’s little or no competition from other big-name shows in the summer months, the program already has a huge ratings base and any drop-off from the Stern Effect will easily be made up by his millions of fans. The curiosity factor alone (not to mention a huge, full-court ad campaign that had the normally press-averse Stern doing talk shows and New York Times interviews) will surely give the first few weeks a major ratings boost. After years of experiments, plugging a celebrity judge into a panel is a mixed blessing at this point. Steven Tyler was kind of fun and quirky on last year’s “American Idol,” but by this season he was merely irritating and mostly just a peacocking place-filler who offered little or nothing of substance to the contestants. Howard’s watched this, studied it and has promised that he will be a different kind of judge. “All these articles talk about how I’ve changed and I’m like, ‘Good, I hope I’ve changed,'” Stern said on his satellite radio show on Monday (May 14) about his bad-boy reputation. He’s less angry, jealous and resentful these days, but he’s also more keenly aware of what it takes to entertain and I have a feeling that, love him or hate him, if you tune in tonight you’re going to be surprised. And I guarantee you will be entertained. Do you think Howard Stern will be a good judge on “America’s Got Talent” Let us know in comments below.

Time Isn’t The First To Feature ‘Extreme Parenting’

The shocking breastfeeding cover is the latest of several depictions of ‘attachment’ parenting. By Kara Warner Whether or not it was intended to cause immediate controversy, this week’s Time magazine cover is the epitome of shock and awe. The photo depicts Los Angeles mother Jamie Lynne Grumet breastfeeding her 3-year-old son. Needless to say, the image is a striking one and has caused a media storm. As surprising as it may be to see a young mother breastfeeding her toddler, the story isn’t as out-of-the-blue as it may seem. There have been several recent examples of the so-called “attachment” and “extreme” parenting that have popped up in the cultural zeitgeist. Here’s what we’ve noticed: Celebs do it too “Gossip Girl” star Kelly Rutherford and “Big Bang Theory” actress Mayim Bialik both made headlines when they revealed publicly that they breastfed their toddlers; Rutherford even more so because she revealed her stance on the subject back in 2008. Bialik, who, in addition to being an actress and mother, is a neuroscientist, did extensive research on the subject and wrote a book about it: “Beyond the Sling: A Real-Life Guide to Raising Confident, Loving Children the Attachment Parenting Way.” It’s seen on TV If you happen to watch HBO’s medieval fantasy epic “Game of Thrones” or caught Adam Sandler’s “Grown Ups” in theaters, you witnessed two instances of older-than-average children still being breastfed by their mothers. It should be noted that in both the Time article and Bialik’s book, the case is made for how the practice is becoming more accepted and that the women who choose to continue breastfeeding are basing their decisions on sound logic. In contrast, in the recent examples on TV and in film, the mothers are portrayed as crazy or unstable. Some don’t find it that extreme Beloved “Clueless” actress Alicia Silverstone raised more than a few eyebrows when she posted a video on her website that showed Silverstone pre-chewing food which her son then ate directly out of her mouth. Silverstone later defended the practice as having thousands of years of history behind it. Another case is the disciplinary tactic of “hot-saucing,” in which parents put hot sauce on their children’s tongues as a form of punishment for unwanted behavior. The concept made headlines last year when a mother in Alaska faced child abuse charges after the “Dr. Phil” show aired video of the mom punishing her child with “hot-saucing.” The practice has a surprise celeb supporter in Lisa Whelchel, who played Blair on the TV show “The Facts of Life.” What did you think of Time ‘s cover? Terrell Owens, Baby Mamas CRUSHED By Dr. Phil

Terrell Owens appeared on Dr. Phil yesterday with the three (of the four) women he has children with, and the TV personality eviscerated all of them. Very politely, but still. The ex-NFL great and the mothers of the kids he fathered (and say he doesn’t pay child support for) hashed out their differences in front of a live audience. And Dr. Phil. The erstwhile TV shrink started the show by going fairly easy on Owens, and never got flat-out harsh with the footballer. But the truth hurts. Terrell Owens on Dr. Phil Phil basically told Owens he’s an irresponsible human being (which T.O. to his credit acknowledged) and needs to be the father he personally never had. It was a sad and confusing display, made all the more so by Owens, now nearly broke and alone, recalling of his (lack of) relationship with his own father. Not that Terrell’s previous flings were spared by any means. Dr. Phil gave them a verbal dressing down as well, accusing them of stonewalling T.O. out of spite and likely scarring their children for life as a result. We never thought we’d say this about the TV spectacle, but maybe they all needed to hear it from someone … and Phil certainly doesn’t mince words.

What The Hell?? Man Arrested For Driving Drunk With 4 Young Children Strapped To The Hood Of The Car, Mother Charged As Well

Man Arrested For Driving Drunk With 4 Young Children Strapped To The Hood Of The Car They just look like some straight up drunks! An Indiana man accused of driving three blocks with four children strapped to the hood of his car was being held in jail Tuesday on charges of drunken driving and neglect, police said. Fort Wayne police said the mother of three of those children also was being held on neglect charges. The other child belonged to the man. None of the children – aged 4, 5, 6 and 7 – was injured, police spokeswoman Raquel Foster said. A witness called police Monday evening after seeing a man and woman using a tow strap to tie the children to the car in a liquor store parking lot and then drive away, Foster said. “Apparently they were traveling a short distance, and he believed they would enjoy it,” Foster said. She said a U.S. marshal overheard the police radio traffic, spotted the car and pulled it over. Foster said she had no information about the children’s reaction to the ride. The man had a blood alcohol content of .17, more than twice Indiana’s legal limit for driving, Foster said. Police said the woman also appeared to be intoxicated. The man and woman’s relationship was unclear. Foster issued a statement Tuesday morning that said Aaron S. Stefanski, 29, of Fort Wayne, faces felony neglect charges and three counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and that Jessica A. Clark, 29, of Fort Wayne, also faces a felony neglect charge or charges. Foster’s statement said the incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Department of Child Services and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office. Wow, so this mfer thought the kids would enjoy being strapped to the hood of the car…AND their mother let him do it?? SMMFH!! Source
