Cissy Houston Says She Has ‘Difficulty Believing’ Allegations That Whitney Houston Was Molested By Her Cousin

Source: L. Busacca / Getty With the recent documentary “Whitney” revealing that Whitney Houston was molested by a female family member, Cissy Houston claims she was shocked to learn of it. That, and she has serious doubts that it ever happened. According to PEOPLE , the deceased singer’s mother is finally breaking her silence, speaking out about the accusations made by Whitney’s longtime assistant Mary Jones . Remember: Jones claims that Dee Dee Warwick , Whitney’s cousin and Dionne Warwick’s sister, molested the Grammy winner. In addition, Whitney’s brother Gary says in the film that he too was molested between the ages of 7 and 9 by a female family member. “Being a child—being seven, eight, nine years old—and being molested by a female family member of mine. My mother and father were gone a lot, so we stayed with a lot of different people . . . four, five different families who took care of us,” Gary said in the film. However, Cissy, also speaking for Dionne, sent a statement to PEOPLE questioning the validity of the allegations. Here’s an excerpt of her statement: My niece Dionne Warwick and I make this statement to raise our voices above the din surrounding the release of the film,  Whitney . Although the film is marketed as a Houston Family approved/endorsed project, neither my son, Michael, Dionne nor I knew of the allegations of abuse, the direction the film would take, until two days before the screening at Cannes. To begin we want to state clearly that the horror of what victims of sexual abuse experience is unimaginable. We make no attempt to minimize the pain, the trauma and perhaps lifelong damage to the psyche of abuse victims. We understand and acknowledge that there are no rules governing a person’s reaction to trauma and every person reacts differently. By this statement we do not intend to defend, condone or excuse the crime of molestation. Source: Dave Kotinsky / Getty   We cannot, however, overstate the shock and horror we feel and the difficulty we have believing that my niece Dee Dee Warwick (Dionne’s sister) molested two of my three children. I’ve been told—as ju stification for the invasive theme of this film—that Whitney was a public person and therefore the public has a right to know any and everything about her. I say, NO, she was a famous person … a singer, an actress, a quiet but generous philanthropist. She wasn’t running for office, asking for money or trying to win the right to run anyone’s life. Her job does not entitle the “public” to know every intimate detail of her life beyond what she herself revealed during her lifetime. Although she spoke about her struggle with drugs, the interventions, her daughter Krissi and issues in her marriage, she never PUBLICLY spoke about her father’s stealing from her or revealed any claim that she had been molested. IF she was molested I do not believe she would have wanted it to be revealed for the first time to thousands, maybe millions of people in a film. I know the woman who was identified as Whitney’s “close confidante”. If she was my daughter’s “close confidante” it would seem she chose to betray Whitney’s confidence by publicizing rumors and hearsay. In any case Dionne, Michael and I do not know her the way we knew and loved Dee Dee Warwick. Dee Dee may have had her personal challenges but the idea that she would have molested my children is overwhelming and for us unfathomable. We cannot reconcile the Public’s need to know about Whitney’s life as justification for invasion of her privacy or the charge against Dee Dee, a charge which neither Whitney nor Dee Dee is here to deny, refute or affirm. Neither I, Dionne, nor my son Michael who was very close to his sister, and in the film is VERY candid about their drug use, has ever heard these allegations; we have never heard anything remotely connected to the crimes charged against Dee Dee in the film. How can that be fair to my daughter, to Dee Dee, or to our family? I spent many years in recording studios (sometimes with Dionne and/or Dee Dee) where I earned my living. I also went “on the road” with my group The Sweet Inspirations to try to help provide a good life for my family BUT my children always came first in my heart and in my life. When I was away they did not stay with four or five different families; they stayed at home where their longtime babysitter, Phyllis, or my dear friend Bae or their father took care of them. In all the years I traveled Dee Dee, who was 21 years older than Whitney, NEVER BABYSAT for them. Despite Cissy’s statement, Jones stressed to PEOPLE that she is telling the truth and didn’t mean any harm by speaking out. She added: “I deeply love and respect Dionne, Cissy, and their entire families, and my intention was never to embarrass anyone in the family, but rather to bring to light that Whitney was subjected to something painful and troubling as a child. And it’s something that happens to other innocent kids and goes unspoken too much.” RELATED NEWS: Bobby Brown’s Sister Swears She Didn’t Sell Whitney Houston’s Bathroom Photo To Kanye West ‘Whitney’ The Documentary Dares To Delve Deep Into The Cause Of Whitney’s Addiction Why Are We Ignoring The Fact That Pusha-T Exploited Whitney Houston For Promotion?

Mother Shoots Carjacker When He Tried To Drive Off With Her Children

Read more from the original source:

Source: Brian Stablyk / Getty A Texas mother recently proved that she would do anything to protect her kids, even shoot someone if needed. According to FOX 4 News , on Wednesday Michelle Booker-Hicks went to get gas at a Dallas station when she saw a man get into her car with her 2-year-old and 4-year-old sons. She ran back to her car, hopped in and grabbed her gun out of the glove department as the driver sped down the street. Booker-Hicks then shot the carjacker right under his eye. “I proceeded to jump in my backseat and told the gentleman to stop, to get out the car. He would not get out of the car. He turned around and looked at me,” she told FOX 4. “I reached over the armrest to get my glove compartment and that’s when I fired at him once I got the gun from my glove compartment.” After being shot, the carjacker crashed the car into a fence. Thankfully, Booker-Hicks and her children weren’t hurt. The man, later identified as Ricky Wright, was arrested and taken to the hospital. Booker-Hicks stressed that all she cared about in that moment was her children. “I’m not a killer or anything, but I do believe in defending what’s mine,” she said. “I hope that woke him up.” An attorney not involved with her case told FOX 4 he doesn’t think the mother will face any charges for her actions. When children are involved, obviously the authorities are going to be very understanding of that,” Toby Shook said. “The law says that if a reasonable person in her situation would have acted the same way, found it immediately necessary to protect herself or a third party, in this case her children, then that’s legitimate self-defense.” However, Booker-Hicks doesn’t have a  license to carry, but the state of Texas has laws that allow those to carry guns inside their car even without a license. Jenelle Evans’ House Is Sinking & Teen Mom 2 Fans Are Loving It!

Saying that Jenelle Evans is disliked by Teen Mom 2 fans would be putting it very, very mildly. You’d have to go back to Puck on The Real World or The Situation’s coke-iest  Jersey Shore days to find a reality star who’s so universally despised. Usually, viewers tend to go overboard in their hatred of a specific villain, but in Jenelle’s case, the contempt is fully warranted. Jenelle has been accused of abusing her children through both neglect and severe corporal punishment. She’s also admitted to doing drugs while pregnant . And as anyone who’s watched even a single episode of the show knows, she’s generally just a mean and nasty person, who’s horrendous treatment of the people in her inner circle is matched only by her utter disdain for every stranger she encounters. And this isn’t a new phenomenon. Jenelle’s been a destructive force in the lives of everyone who crosses her path for such a long time that she’s never had primary custody of her eldest son, 9-year-old Jace, as a judge put the boy in his grandmother’s care almost immediately after he was born. So yeah, TM2 fans are right to hate on Jenelle. And we fully understand why they feel compelled to applaud the news that her house is sinking into the ground. Yes, on this week’s episode, Jenelle and David Eason (who’s equally terrible for reasons we don’t have time to go into) revealed that the laaaaaand they so love is essentially devouring their modular home. Naturally, the couple responded the same way they respond to every problem — by pointing the finger at everyone within pointing distance. Evans and Eason immediately contacted the manufacturers of their prefab home and basically blamed them for the composition of the land that the home sits on. “The house guy in Wilmington is trying to say that we put too much dirt on the land to fill our puddles and that we’re making all the water go down under our house,” Jenelle complained to a friend. “It was flooded to begin with. Our house is sinking basically.” “The county requires us to have positive drainage away from the house.” Eason stated. “You can take that idea and shove it up your ass because my house is falling in the mud. I want my house on stilts.” When he came face-to-face with the VP of the company, David hilariously tried to threaten the guy with a social media roasting: “If I got to pay for it … I guarantee my wife has got about 12 million followers on social media,” he said, adding: “Come back with your checkbook.” Oooo, tough talk. Hopefully, the VP is aware that those are mostly hate-follows. Naturally, fans on social media are downright loving Jenelle’s predicament, and we are 100 percent here for that sentiment. Some of you might be saying to yourselves, “Hey, it’s not cool to wish homelessness on this woman! She’s got kids!” To which we say: and she’s been earning seven figures a year for most of her adult life. Her kids will be fine. Let us revel in our schadenfreude. Sadly, it seems Jenelle and David were able to prevent the demons from dragging their home back to hell, as Jenelle has made no mention of the issue on social media in recent weeks. (And you know she’d be griping up a storm if she had cause to.) But that doesn’t mean her life isn’t in shambles! A preview for next week’s episode shows Jenelle getting a visit from the sheriff , but she appears to be too “dazed” to fully comprehend what’s happening. Never change, Jenelle. Just kidding, please change immediately for the sake of your children. Watch Teen Mom 2 online for more on the ridiculous life of the Carolina Hurricane. Briana DeJesus: Is She Neglecting Her Daughter?!

Ever since Briana DeJesus joined the cast of Teen Mom 2, her storyline has been more about relationships than actually being a mom. Last season, we saw her dealing with Luis Miguel, a guy who impregnated her after a hookup. They tried to give dating a go, but it didn't work out, and things got so messy between them that at one point Briana was even contemplating placing their child for adoption . We also saw her struggle to coparent with Devoin Austin, the father of her older daughter, Nova. He wanted to spend more time with Nova, but Briana didn't feel comfortable with it, and then Briana's mother, Roxanne, climbed on a table in a restaurant to berate him. It was a lot to take in, to say the least. This season, Luis seems to be nearly completely out of the picture, and Devoin hasn't been able to step up , either. Or at least, that seems to be the case — the vast, vast majority of Briana's story this season has been her relationship with Javi Marroquin and her feud with Kailyn Lowry .   The point of all this is to say that unlike some of the other moms, Briana's children haven't really been a focus on the show, not really. Until now, that is. In this heartbreaking sneak peek for tonight's new episode, Briana's finished her maternity leave and is back at her day job, so her sister and her mother are home caring for her children. Brittany tends to baby Stella while Roxanne sits down with Nova to do some schoolwork, and she decides to have a conversation about their home life, too. “Hey, let me ask you something,” she says. “You excited about your mom going back to work?” Nova nods, but when Roxanne asks her if she'll miss her, she says no. And when she asks her why, she says “Because she doesn't like taking care of me, she likes taking care of Stella.” “You think she likes to take care of Stella?” Roxanne asks. “But wait wait wait wait wait, you know why she takes care of Stella, right?” Nova says that she knows Stella is a baby, and Roxanne tells her that she still takes care of her anyway, and so does Grandma and Ti Ti. “But Ti Ti doesn't because she's too lazy,” Nova whispers as Brittany drinks some juice in the background. “A little bit,” she acknowledges, “but I take care of you, right? So you have a lot of us taking care of you.” Unfortunately, Nova doesn't seem too convinced. Obviously, this is totally normal — Briana's not doing anything wrong here. Nova is feeling a little jealous of her baby sister, but Briana has to give her a different kind of attention, and good on her for not quitting her job even though she's back on MTV. Still, this is really sad to see. Nova is so sweet, so to see her hurting is tough. Hopefully when we see the full episode, Briana will help to make her feel a little better with all the changes going on in their family. In the meantime, let poor little Nova break your heart, too, by watching the clip below:

Ami Brown Really Does Have Cancer, Discovery Channel Confirms

An executive at the Discovery Channel has a very simple and very pointed message for certain fans of Alaskan Bush People. And that messages goes something like this: FOR SHAME! Speaking to Radar Online, the network’s Executive Vice President, Laurie Goldberg, opened up for the first time this week about Ami Brown’s cancer diagnosis. She and her loved ones admitted in July of 2017 that the long-time reality star had been diagnosed with a very serious form of lung cancer and that her prognosis was grim at best. Since then, various members of this famous family have kept fans apprised of Ami’s status on occasion, with the latest update being an extremely sad one: Brown has reportedly returned to the hospital . But this doesn’t mean all hope is lost, Goldberg says: “She is going to L.A. for a routine three month check-up but is optimistic and surrounded by nothing but love,” she also told Radar. In this same conversation with the aforementioned celebrity gossip website, Goldberg expressed consternation that anyone out there has been doubting Ami’s diagnosis. Do these critics really think producers and/or the Browns themselves would lie about such a thing? “Ami’s battle with cancer is very real,” Goldberg emphasis, taking those who disbelieve her to task and adding: “It is just disgusting that anyone would say her cancer is not real or that it was created for the show.” We can’t entirely fault viewers for having a few questions, of course. Reality TV in general is known for conjuring up storylines, as Jacob Roloff very recently came out and explained in a book written by this Little People, Big World star. But still. We’re talking about cancer here and we would never for a second wonder whether Ami and her children were actually lying about such a serious illness. “It’s in both lungs, in the middle and sides of the lungs,” Ami’s husband, Billy Brown, said last year. He said the cancer had been labeled as stage 3B, which is very close to the worst possible diagnosis, and continued at the time: “It hasn’t traveled to any other organs, but that’s what they’re saying is next. Any time we talk to anybody, it’s bad news.” Alaskan Bush People will be returning for Season 8, however, and we hear that Ami may still be part of the cast. “The fans will get to see her journey alongside the rest of the family on the upcoming season,” Goldberg previews, adding: “There is definitely no drama between her and anyone in the family – they love her very much and would do anything for her.” View Slideshow: Alaskan Bush People: 13 Secrets They Don’t Want You to Know No premiere date for Season 8 has been announced just yet. We’ll pass it along as soon as it’s confirmed… … and we’ll continue to send Ami our best wishes.

Matt Roloff: Yup, I’m Moving to Arizona!

A major change is coming to Little People, Big World. How major of a change? Little People, Big World may no longer exist as a result. In a response to a question from a fan on Facebook, Matt Roloff confirmed this weekend what some folks have been suspecting for awhile: He’s moving away from Roloff Farms. FAR, FAR away from Roloff Farms. Ineed, he’s off to Arizona. Over the past few episodes of this TLC series, Matt has hinted – heck, he’s flat out said – that he can’t handle living so close to his ex-wife for much longer.  Back when Matt and Amy divorced in the spring of 2016, the former agreed to live in the farm’s guest house. However, the arrangement was only meant to be temporary, as Roloff explained on an installment of his family’s TLC program this month. This “wasn’t supposed to be permanent,” he told the camera, adding that living just a few hundred feet from Amy is, understandably, “awkward.” Over the past several days, chatter about Roloff’s potential move has grown pretty strong, considering he’s spent a lot of time in Arizona. He’s been signing copies there of his children’s book and even referred to citizens of that state as his “neighbors” in one social media message. So… if he really moving to The Grand Canyon State? This is what a Facebook follower asked, to which Matt replied: I am in the process of purchasing a home in Arizona.:)) So there it is. Does this mean Roloff is engaged to Caryn Chandle r? Or will be soon? We don’t know. What does this mean for the long-term future of Little People, Big World? We really don’t know. And we’re concerned. The series has centered around Matt and Amy’s life on their farm in Oregon, even in the years following their divorce. The two have clashed a bit here and there, such as on last week’s fiery episode , but they mostly get along very amicable for a couple who split after 26 years of marriage. Will TLC renew the show, even if Matt is no longer in the picture? And how will Matt be content to live so far away from his precious two grandkids? Again, it’s too early for us to have the answers to these questions. All we know right now is that Little People, Big World has been on tha air for over a decade and IF it returns for another season, it will clearly look very different. Would you even want the show back without Matt as a resident on the farm? View Slideshow: Little People, Big World: Why It May Be Ending … Soon!
