Anna Duggar Makes First Instagram Post in Two Years, Gets So Much Hate

Anna Duggar … well, it’s safe to say that her life has been a little complicated for the past few years. Ever since it was revealed that her husband, Josh Duggar, had molested five young girls when he was a teenager, things haven’t been easy for her. Which, you know, makes sense. Back in 2015, the news about Josh came out , and it was an absolute mess, to say the least. Michelle and Jim Bob tried to make the situation seem not as bad as it was, which absolutely didn’t work, and 19 Kids and Counting was canceled. A few months after that we learned that Josh had also had an Ashley Madison account , and that he’d been cheating on Anna, or at least trying to cheat on her. In a statement about that part, Josh also admitted to being addicted to porn, so that’s another fun little tidbit. After that, Anna essentially went into hiding. She didn’t appear much on Counting On or any of the family’s social media accounts, not to mention her own. She got a whole lot of backlash for staying with Josh after the Ashley Madison thing, and for potentially endangering her children. Not leaving him was a way of supporting him, even after everything had come out, and many people didn’t like that. And that’s basically why she hasn’t made a post on her Instagram account in two years. Until this weekend, that is. Up until yesterday, her last post was in February of 2016, but then she posted this cute photo of two of her kids playing: “Usually my boys are playing with blocks, hot wheels, and nerf guns,” she captioned the picture. “Sometimes they decide to get creative ‘toys’ — stack ’em and then snack ’em! #creativity” So that’s pretty harmless, right? Not so much. Some people took issue with the fact that the boys are on the counter — one person wrote “I love you and all, but why would you let your kids play on top of a counter top like that?” Others were upset that Anna didn’t post any pictures of her daughters, and one of her followers even asked if the girls were “allowed” to play like the boys. But, of course, the main issue wasn’t with this particular picture, but with Josh. “I don’t see your little girls in the picture,” someone told her. “I hope someone besides your cheating, molesting husband is watching them.” “Please keep a careful, watchful eye on your kids both boys and girls,” another instructed. One particularly passionate person commented with “Have you finally realized that there is no hope for cheaters and especially molesters???” “Incestuous molestation at that..glad you have your children..but please move on and don’t bring anymore into the world with your sick hopefully soon to be Ex husband. HE TRIED TO RUIN YOU.” Then, on a bonus photo Anna posted, one of adorable little Mason , she got more criticism. “You continue to have babies with that cheating incest molesting husband of yours,” someone began over in that comment section. “Smh …. what did he say 3 hali Mary’s and u turned around and forgave him all willy nilly……” “Set an example to your daughters for peets sake to be a strong woman…your families females being subservient to the man makes you ladies look weak which is something the movement is fight against…” Whatever movement this person is talking about surely isn’t of interest to the Duggar clan, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a point. It is kind of bizarre how Anna is still pretending everything is fine after what Josh has done — or at least it would be in a normal marriage. ‘They’ Schools: Study Shows American Kids (And Teachers) Are Dismally Uneducated About Slavery

Kean Collection/Getty Images High School Students And Educators Woefully Uninformed About Slavery This should come as no surprise as many times as we’ve posted about some of the stupid lessons on slavery kids are receiving in the US, but a new report released by the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Teaching Tolerance project reveals the widespread failure to accurately teach the history of American slavery and enslaved people. According to Atlantic reports Teaching Tolerance conducted online surveys of 1,000 American high-school seniors and more than 1,700 social-studies teachers across the country. The group also reviewed 10 commonly used U.S.-history textbooks, and examined 15 sets of state standards to assess what students know, what educators teach, what publishers include, and what standards require vis-à-vis slavery. What they found was that only 8 percent of 12th-graders could identify slavery as the cause of the Civil War. Fewer than one-third (32 percent) correctly named the 13th Amendment as the formal end of U.S. slavery, with a slightly higher share (35 percent) choosing the Emancipation Proclamation. And fewer than half (46 percent) identified the “Middle Passage” as the transport of enslaved Africans across the Atlantic Ocean to North America. Fewer than one-quarter (22 percent) of participating high-school seniors knew that “protections for slavery were embedded in [America’s] founding documents”—that rather than a “peculiar institution” of the South, slavery was a Constitutionally enshrined right. And fewer than four in 10 students surveyed (39 percent) understood how slavery “shaped the fundamental beliefs of Americans about race and whiteness.” The teachers didn’t do much better than the students. While teachers overwhelmingly (92 percent) claim they are “comfortable discussing slavery” in their classroom, only slightly more than half (52 percent) teach their students about slavery’s legal roots in the nation’s founding documents, while just 53 percent emphasize the extent of slavery outside of the antebellum South. And 54 percent teach the continuing legacy of slavery in today’s society. Additionally, dozens of teachers rely on “simulations”—role-playing and games—to teach slavery, a method that Teaching Tolerance has warned against on the grounds that it can lead to stereotypes and oversimplification. Meanwhile, a large majority—73 percent—use “slaves” when talking about slavery in the classroom instead of “enslaved persons” (49 percent), the latter term of which has gained favor for emphasizing the humanity of those forced into bondage. That’s a strong point about slaves vs. enslaved persons. Did you ever consider the impact of the wording? Also those games and simulations are how so many teachers are getting in trouble. Teachers — stop playing GAMES. Just keep it 100 with the kids and make sure they know HUMANS were treated INHUMANELY! LaGarrett King, an assistant professor of social-studies education at the University of Missouri, served on the Teaching Tolerance advisory board that developed a framework for teaching American slavery—basically, the concepts that every graduating high-school senior should know—as part of the report’s recommendations. As a teacher educator, he said the study fills a significant void. Students training to be teachers, especially those being educated to teach in elementary schools, know little about the history of slavery, he stated, noting that “much curriculum and teaching around racially and ethnically diverse [people] features a fun—foods and festival—approach to learning.” By contrast, King said, the framework provides a guide to delve into topics such as slavery and black history with a thorough and academically sound approach, versus teaching slavery in reductive and superficial ways. “Can you teach slavery without it being psychologically violent to the children? The answer is no, violence will occur and is expected,” he said. “The key is the recognition of white supremacy and [of] the humanity of black people that helps aid in the complexity of the subject.” What steps do you think need to be taken to make sure that the harsh realities of slavery and the impact of the institution on America overall are taught? According to NY Daily News reports Middle School 118 teacher Patricia Cummings is under fire for her unorthodox teaching methods. Students say about two weeks ago the teacher, who is white, had students in multiple seventh-grade classes lie on the floor as part of a lesson on the Middle Passage, where Africans were kidnapped and brought to America during the slave trade. “It was a lesson about slavery and the Triangle Trade,” said one of Cummings’ students, who asked to remain anonymous. “She picked three of the black kids,” the boy said, and instructed them to get on the floor in front of the class. “She said, ‘You see how it was to be a slave?’ She said, ‘How does it feel?’ ” When a girl on the floor made an uncomfortable joke and said she felt fine, Cummings stepped on her back, the student said. “She put her foot on her back and said ‘How does it feel?’” the student said. “ ‘See how it feels to be a slave?’ ” Cummings was removed from the classroom for several days after the incident, but returned to class and was in school Thursday. Cummings, who makes $68,934 a year, was reassigned away from children later in the day after the Daily News contacted the city Education Department about her controversial lesson. “While the investigation has not been completed, these are deeply disturbing allegations, and the alleged behavior has no place in our schools or in society,” said Education Department spokeswoman Toya Holness. MS 118 Principal Giulia Cox declined to comment. Cummings students say she delivered the lesson after showing a video of slaves being beaten, tortured and thrown over the side of a ship. “She had students lie on the floor,” said another kid who was in one of the lessons. “She was measuring the length and width to show how little space slaves had in the ship. It was strange.” Cummings declined to speak with the NY Daily News when contacted. If your child was one of her students, how would you want the situation handled?

Chitchatter… Jay Z Speaks On Beyonce Marriage With Van Jones Beyonce and Jay Z could have easily split after Hov’s infidelity, but according to Jay there’s a valid reason why they didn’t. Hov was a guest on (Roc Nation signee) Van Jones’ debut talk show Saturday and spoke candidly on his marriage to Bey. According to Hov, they didn’t divorce after his infidelity as addressed on “Lemonade” and “4:44” because they wanted to “break the cycle” and fight for their love for their children. “For us, we chose to fight for our love, for our family,” said Hov. “To give our kids a different outcome. To break that cycle for black men and women.” Jay-Z tells @vanjones68 about mending his marriage with Beyoncé: “For us, we chose to fight for our love. For our family. To give our kids a different outcome. If you haven’t experienced love or don’t understand it or you don’t have the tools to move forward then you are going to have complications. Period.” But what would he do if the shoe was on the other foot and Bey cheated on him? Hov said he’d hopefully be as forgiving as her, the “strongest woman he knows.” “If the transgressions had been on [Beyonce’s] side, do you think you’d be able to be as forgiving of her as she was of you?” asked Van. “I hope,” said Jay. “I love her the same way. For almost 20 years, Matt Lauer was married to Annette Roque. Clearly, among Lauer’s many widely reported failings was his failure as a husband. It’s long been suspected that Annette Roque is planning to divorce Matt Lauer , but her approach to this has seemed calm and careful. And quiet. Now, reportedly, the divorce process has finally begun. One of the biggest stories during these months of #MeToo was Matt Lauer being revealed and accused of being a serial harasser. The shocking details of Matt Lauer giving sexual “gifts” and dropping his pants to demand sex acts from coworkers and underlings at NBC were enough. But it didn’t stop at creepy stories about a button on his desk to remotely lock his office door, or at his alleged fondness for using NBC trips as a hunting ground, looking for young, pretty, ambitious staffers to invite — or lure — to his hotel room. And then, of course, Matt Lauer was accused of rape .  According to the allegations, he locked a woman in his office, bent her over, and only stopped his sexual assault after she lost consciousness. Some divorces are started by mere cheating, not an international media scandal that leaves a once-beloved TV personality in disgrace. Us Weekly reports that, after nearly two months of … whatever Annette Roque has been up to … she’s finally divorcing Matt Lauer . “They’ve started the divorce process.” For a while, many feared that Annette Roque was refusing to divorce Matt Lauer . Since then, however, she’s kicked Matt Lauer out of their family home in the Hamptons. (Finally!) Clearly, something has changed. Do you know what the weirdest part of this is, though? It sounds like Matt Lauer is totally detached from reality. At least, from what we hope reality is. Per their source: “He thinks he can start fresh. In both his personal and professional life.” We’re sure that he can date and even remarry. Sadly, he’s rich and famous, and some people don’t mind dating an accused rapist. But … he really believes that he can salvage his career? “He thinks he’ll be back on TV at some point.” Maybe he’s right. After all, Johnny Depp is still somehow starring in movies even though we all know exactly what sort of man he is. And Woody Allen is still making movies. As we said, Matt Lauer and Annette Roque were married for nearly 20 years. Divorce can be hell, and there’s a decent chance that what’s currently a quiet divorce will grow contentious over time. The couple has three children together: Jack, 16, Romy, 14, and Thijs, 11. (Don’t make fun of their names; kids don’t choose their names) Shortly after the Lauer story first broke, Annette Roque pretty much fled the country , and she brought Romy and Thijs with her. Jack remained behind … we don’t know what to read into that other than that he’s 16. This divorce will impact the children no matter what, but they’re at least old enough that they (particularly Jack and Romy) can probably have some sort of say when it comes to custody. It’s difficult to tell how this divorce will go. On the one hand, if we were for some reason advising Matt Lauer, we’d suggest giving his wife everything she asks for, quietly and politely. Surely he owes her that much, if not more. On the other, the description that Us Weekly ‘s source provides of Matt Lauer hardly meshes with the “broken, ashamed” description of him that we were so pleased to hear a while back. (Excuse my schadenfreude) if he really thinks that his life can somehow go on as before, that people can still see him as a public figure and not as a sex monster who abused the trust of coworkers but also of the public, then he might fight to enforce the couple’s prenup. Peter Gunz and Amina Buddafly: It’s Finally Over!

The most dysfunctional relationship in the history of Hollywood has finally come to an end. No, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have not gone their separate ways. Not yet, at least. But it sounds very much as if Peter Gunz and Amina Buddafly are at last on the verge of doing so. We know this for one very simple and very straightforward reason: Both Peter and Amina posted the actual divorce papers on Instagram, with the latter taking this action first and thereby implying that she is the one who filed. “Ready, set, go…” wrote Buddafly as a caption, with Peter adding for his part: “The end…” Here is a look at the papers in question: Gunz followed up on this message by posting a photo of himself and his soon-to-be-ex-wife and making it clear that their split is amicable. “Our divorce is not ugly.. No lawyers no judges no Mediators!! Just us.. I love @aminabuddafly and the Beautiful Queens she gave me,” he wrote, concluding as follows: “Divorce in our case is not a bad thing it’s best and won’t change the support and love for her my kids and her music.. no comments necessary.” As those who watch Love & Hip Hop online (or on television) know quite well, Gunz and Buddafly have a pretty amazing history. We mean this is the most depressing/disturbing/hilarious/contentious/scandal sense of the word. Gunz and Buddafly (not their real names… we assume) got together while Peter was with Tara Wallace, the mother of a few of his kids. He basically kept having sex with both Amina and Tara over the years, more or less out in the open even. In August of 2016, the couple welcomed their second child into the world, a girl named Bronx. She was born not long after Gunz and Wallace also had a kid together, with Bronx marking Peter’s 10th child overall. That is not a misprint. Peeter Gunz is the father of 10 kids. And neither Buddafly nor Wallace seemed to really care that their baby daddy was also someone else’s simultaneous baby daddy. Wrote Buddafly to all the haters two years ago, while carrying one of Peter’s two fetuses at the time: “I Got pregnant again because I made love to the man I love… Now y’all can debate on why we did it until ya hair turns grey… “@petergunz174 I love you 4ever and I will never be scared to show or say it because of people.” Well, not so much 4ever , we guess. Not after this divorce news. Then again, it would surprise no one at all if Amina and Peter also announced in a few months that they’re expecting another baby together. That’s just how they roll. Megyn Kelly to Jane Fonda: STFU, You Hypocrite!

Megyn Kelly has put Jane Fonda on blast. There's a sentence we're guessing you didn't expect to read today. But the NBC anchor took a few moments out from her program on Monday to address the quasi feud brewing between her and Fonda, which started a few weeks ago when the veteran actress sat down for an interview with Kelly. Fonda was on hand at the time to promote the film  Our Souls at Night – and she did not respond kindly to Kelly bringing up her many plastic surgery procedure on air. “I read that you said you felt you're not proud to admit that you've had work done. Why not?” Kelly asked of Fonda, who responded tersely: “We really want to talk about that now?” The exchange went viral because, well, it was very awkward. And now Kelly has gone on the offensive against Fonda, explaining why she pursued this line of questioning and calling Fonda out. Hard. “When she first complained publicly after the program and repeatedly, I chose to say nothing as my general philosophy is what other people think of me is none of my business,” Kelly opened. “However, Fonda was at it again last week including here on NBC and then again elsewhere, so it's time to address the 'poor me' routine.” Oh, yes, Kelly held nothing back in this mini rant. “First, some context,” she explained, prior to adding: “Fonda was on to promote a film about aging. For years she has spoken openly about her joy in giving a cultural face to older women. “Well, the truth is most older women look nothing like Fonda, who is now 80 and if Fonda really wants to have an honest discussion about older women's cultural face, then her plastic surgery is tough to ignore. “Fonda herself knows this. She knows this and that is why, to her credit, she has discussed her cosmetic surgery pretty much everywhere before coming on our show.” The show then aired a handful of clips of Fonda talking about her plastic surgery to various outlets and her reasoning for it. Kelly's general point is that Fonda has opened the plastic surgery door many times and was out of line in making it look like Kelly was out of line for bringing it up. “Apparently, when she came here, however, again to promote her film about aging, I was supposed to discern that this subject was suddenly off-limits,” Kelly continued. “Look, I gave her the chance to empower other women, young and old, on a subject which she purports to know well and she rejected it. That's ok, but I have no regrets about that question, nor am I in the market for a lesson from Jane Fonda on what is and is not appropriate. “After all, this is a woman whose name is synonymous with outrage.” From here, Kelly brought up Fonda's comments during the Vietnam War, saying the actress set out to “shame” American troops. She also took Fonda to task for more recently telling the BBC that she was NOT proud of her country because it elected Donald Trump as President . But she is proud of the “resistance.” Seriously, Kelly went deep with this take-down. “So, the moral indignation is a little much,” she concluded of Fonda. “She put her plastic surgery out there. She said she wanted to discuss the plight of older women in America and honestly she has no business lecturing anyone on what qualifies as offensive.” Watch the full slamming below:

Esther McGregor: Daughter of Ewan McGregor Mourns Divorce in Angry Song

Last year, the world learned that Ewan McGregor split from his wife of 22 years . Some say that they separated last Spring, but the secret got out when Ewan was spotted kissing Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Whoops. Well, now Ewan is taking things a step further — because he's filed for divorce. Ewan's 15-year-old daughter is not taking it well. And, as you can see in the video below, she's baring her soul in a song that kind of roasts her dad. Ewan McGregor is one of those actors on whom everybody's mom has a crush. In one of those life-immitates-art scenarios that seem to happen when there's a middle-aged man spending a lot of time with a beautiful younger woman, the two went from sharing scenes to sharing kisses in public. It's believed by many that Ewan McGregor may have separated from his wife, Eve Mavrakis, some time in the Spring of 2017. Ewan's family has characterized this as a mid-life crisis. Ewan is 46 years old. Together, he and Eve have four children. TMZ reports that Ewan McGregor has filed for divorce , citing irreconcilable differences. He's filing for joint custody and expressed a willingness to pay spousal support. TMZ mentions that their sources say that there's no pre-nup in place, so this could be a very costly split — with their shared property being split in half. At this year's Golden Globes , Ewan McGregor was sporting a beard reminiscent of his Obi-Wman role. Additionally, rumors have been circulating that an Obi-Wan film is in the works, though Disney has yet to confirm this. It will reportedly begin filming in 2019. We don't imagine that he'll be locking lips with Mary Elizabeth Winstead in that — Obi-Wan's only canon love interest was Duchess Satine of Mandalore, and she died before the events of Revenge of the Sith . But if he comes out of this divorce hurting financially, an influx of cash from Disney might be just the balm that he needs. But there's more than one way to be hurt. Did you know that those kissing photos with Mary Elizabeth Winstead surfaced on the birthday of Ewan McGregor's 15-year-old daughter, Esther McGregor? October 22nd. Divorce is an important option for so many couples, but more often than not, it's hell on kids. Some children blame themselves. Others feel betrayed by a parent who seems to be tearing apart their family. Esther McGregor clearly falls in the latter category. In a video posted to Instagra, Esther sings a song that she wrote. She all but spells out that it's about her father's new relationship. She even throws in a line about the world (herself included) seeing her dad kiss his new girlfriend on Esther's birthday. In the lyrics, Esther responds to the “s–t” she “found online” with: “I don’t know to forgive. I don’t know if I can. Ruining me.” She has a lovely voice. We're sorry for what she's going through. Divorce, as a process, can be hell. There's really nothing that you can tell the kids to show them the light at the end of the tunnel. This is a very healthy way for her to express herself.
