Critics’ Choice Awards: Getting To Know Hosts Rob Huebel, Paul Scheer

Comic actors’ names might not be familiar to viewers, but their faces most likely are. By Kara Warner Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer host the 16th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images For those who might not be familiar with the names Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel, this year’s hosts of the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards , you’ve very likely seen their faces and comedic stylings in a variety of roles in TV and film. Scheer is one of our illustrious MTV alumni, having co-created and starred in the sketch comedy series “Human Giant,” and can currently be seen in FX’s fantasy football-themed bro comedy “The League.” You also probably recognize him from a multitude of guest-starring roles in shows and movies like “Parks and Recreation,” “30 Rock,” “Reno 911,” “Party Down,” “Piranha,” “Happy Endings” and “Children’s Hospital.” Huebel’s r

Kristen Stewart A ‘Good Fight’ In ‘Snow White,’ Charlize Theron Says

‘The bitch brought it!’ she tells MTV News at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards about ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ rival. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Charlize Theron attends the 2012 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards Photo: Getty Images It’s no secret that we are very excited about Kristen Stewart’s first big non-“Twilight” movie, “Snow White and the Huntsman,” which made it through to the Sweet 16 in the MTV Movie Brawl 2012 . We’re excited not only because Stewart is the star, but because she is playing an action-star version of Snow White and faces off against a very formidable Evil Queen in Charlize Theron. The last time we caught up with Theron, she hadn’t yet filmed the big fight sequence with Stewart but admitted that she hoped her Evil Queen might get the best of Stewart’s Snow White. “I’m just really, really, really hoping I get to kill her,” she said with a smile. “That is how the story ends up, right?” We’re pretty sure that isn’t how the story ends — especially since we happened to bump into Theron again at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards on Thursday (January 12), and she seemed to be changing her previous tune. When we asked the Oscar winner and Best Actress CCMA nominee for “Young Adult” if she’d filmed the epic fight sequence, she didn’t seem too keen to divulge any details. “Yeah,” she admitted, “but I don’t want to talk about it.” Why didn’t Theron want to talk about it? Did the fight not end in her favor? “I don’t want to talk about it. No! No, it’s going to be a surprise,” she said, resisting our probing questions. “Dammit, I give you way too much. People have to pay money to go see the movie to see what happens.” Theron finally relented a bit and revealed that Stewart’s Snow White does, indeed, kick some ass. “She was a good fight,” Theron said. “She was a good fight. The bitch brought it! There you go. Now you have something.” Stick with MTV News all night for the 2012 Critics’ Choice Awards winners , and don’t miss all the fashion from the red carpet ! George Clooney Teases Brad Pitt ‘Death Match’ At Critics’ Choice Awards

‘Descendants’ star, who bested his buddy for Best Actor, also talks politics with MTV News. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Brad Pitt and George Clooney attend the 2012 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards Photo: Getty Images It’s a pretty good week when you get the chance to talk to George Clooney once . But God bless awards season, because just a few days after catching up with the “Descendants” star on the New York red carpet at the National Board of Review, we snagged some time with him again Thursday (January 12) in Los Angeles at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards . As always, the guy was utterly charming. Can’t wait for the Golden Globes this Sunday! We can’t say the same for Clooney, who isn’t exactly impressed these days by all the awards-season hubbub. “The truth is, I think awards are always a very nice thing, in particular in helping films that are small continue to be made, because they are hard to get made,” he told MTV News. “There was a time when I was younger that the idea of them was intimidating and the idea of these kinds of shows was intimidating, and now it’s just fun, because I get to see people I like that I don’t get to see very often.” Of more interest for Clooney is the political horserace rather than the Hollywood one. “There’s been a pretty fun debate in the Republican Party ; I’ve enjoyed watching. I’m sad it’s coming to a close,” he admitted. “I’m a Democrat, so there are things that are fun about it. Listen, they’re going to find a guy, and it looks like it’s going to be Mitt Romney , and then away we go.” That’s a much more entertaining prospect than facing off against his Hollywood friends — guys like “Moneyball” star Brad Pitt, whom he’s been faux-battling all awards season. Clooney triumphed this time around, besting his pal for Best Actor at the CCMAs . “I’m sure there’s a death match,” he joked of the Clooney-vs.-Pitt hype in the media. “Look, he’s my buddy, so everything that happens that’s good for him makes me very happy.” Stick with MTV News all night for the 2012 Critics’ Choice Awards winners , and don’t miss all the fashion from the red carpet ! Yo Gotti Details Deep-Rooted Ties To Rick Ross, Drake

‘It’s always been the same, still till this day,’ MC tells ‘RapFix Live’ of friendship with Ross. By Rob Markman Yo Gotti Photo: Natasha Chandel/ MTV News Yo Gotti may have just released his major-label debut, but the Memphis, Tennessee MC has always gotten major level respect. With an independent grind that dates back to his 2000 album From da Dope Game 2 da Rap Game , Gotti has remained one of hip-hop’s most beloved underground artists. Needless to say, he’s built some key relationships along the way — one of them being with the biggest boss, Rick Ross . “Ross is like a big brother,” Gotti said on Wednesday’s “RapFix Live” . “I met Ross when [“Hustlin’ ” came out], before he was Rick Ross now as far as his accomplishments. It’s always been the same, still ’til this day. If I hit him or he hits me on any given day, it’s the same love.” Rozay rides shotgun on “Harder,” a track from Gotti’s Live From the Kitchen , which was released on Tuesday. The Bawse isn’t the only high-profile rap guest, however. Jadakiss, 2 Chainz, Big K.R.I.T., Big Sean, Wiz Khalifa, Gucci Mane and Nicki Minaj all appear on the LP. Another MC connected to Gotti is Drake, though the Young Money standout isn’t featured on the album. Drizzy, who would spend summers in Gotti’s native Memphis, name drops the rapper on “Underground Kings,” a track from his most recent release Take Care . “Memphis, Tennessee no, see I start to go deep back/ In Ridge Crest with my seat back, with Yo Gotti and E-Mack,” Drake spits about his connection to the southern city and it’s beloved rap scene. “I got a lot of respect for Drake, most definitely; he’s killin’ it,” Gotti said of the Toronto standout whom he met years before Drizzy signed to Lil Wayne and became a star. “Back then it wasn’t really much talkin’, you know, ’cause he was just kinda quiet. He was on his mission, though; you see he went on it.” What do you think of Yo Gotti’s Live From the Kitchen ? Tell us in the comments! Demi Lovato, Vanessa Hudgens Dazzle On People’s Choice Red Carpet

Young starlets take ‘daring’ fashion risks at Wednesday night’s awards show. By Christina Garibaldi Demi Lovato at the 2012 PCA Photo: Albert L. Ortega/ Getty Images Awards show season kicked off Wednesday night with the People’s Choice Awards . One of the big winners of the night was Katy Perry , who, despite having canceled her appearance at the show, took home five awards, including Favorite Female Artist. “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” won four awards, including Favorite Movie and Favorite Book Adaptation. But the night wasn’t all about the awards; it was also about the fashion. Some of the biggest stars in Hollywood came out sporting bright colors, detailed sleeves and some fashion-forward, futuristic looks. Ruling the red carpet were young starlets like Vanessa Hudgens , who dazzled in a spider-web inspired gown by Jenny Packham. “It’s fun, it’s daring and definitely not of the norm.” Hudgens told MTV News on the red carpet. “I think that’s kind of me.” Another standout on the red carpet was Demi Lovato , who not only performed her new single, “Give Your Heart a Break,” but also took home the award for Favorite Pop Artist . Lovato stunned in a long, salmon-colored gown with a jewel-encrusted bodice by Marchesa. “I loved Demi Lovato’s gown from Marchesa.” Celebuzz Senior Producer Jackie Willis told MTV News. “Looks stunning, hugged everything right.” Taking a fashion risk on the carpet was “Pretty Little Liars” star Lucy Hale. The young actress wore a crystal-encrusted Cengiz Abazoglu gown with a side train, which not only showed off a shoulder cut-out, but her maturing style as well. “I didn’t know if I wanted to do long or short, so I did both.” Hale said. “I mean I sort of feel like I’ve been growing up more. It’s just a little bit sexier, it’s enough fun, but still kind of classy.” The one person who may have stolen the show from all the ladies was Robert Pattinson . It wasn’t his outfit that shocked fans (he went casual in jeans), but his new buzz cut . Who do you think was best dressed at the People’s Choice Award? Sound off below!
