Rick Calamaro, Former Charlie Sheen Assistant, Found Dead

Rick Calamaro, the former assistant and close friend of Charlie Sheen’s who many believed took part in the actor’s past drug binges, has been found dead. As first reported by TMZ, Calamaro’s body was found in his Los Angeles apartment yesterday, although it’s believed he’d been deceased for many days. Moreover, according to authorities, “numerous pain medications and an open bottle of alcohol,” were also found at the scene. Calamaro was a club promoter who befriended the actor many years ago. He accompanied Sheen to New York City for the infamous October 2010 incident with Capri Anderson at the Plaza Hotel, where police were called, Anderson ended up locked in a bathroom and Sheen ended up in the hospital. No word yet from Sheen’s camp, but our thoughts go out to Calamaro’s family.

Nicki Minaj "Doesn’t Approve" of Drake-Chris Brown Feud

Nicki Minaj recently commented on the feud between Chris Brown and Drake, her Young Money label-mate, by claiming that she “doesn’t approve” of the beef. The now-infamous Chris Brown-Drake fight that broke out last month at an NYC club left many injured and got the establishment shut down in the aftermath. All over Rihanna too, allegedly. Speaking to the BBC, Nicki weighed in: “I don’t approve of talented people doing things that aren’t conducive to an amazing career. I spoke to Drake, and I told him from the bottom of my heart how I felt.” “I’m like, ‘Baby, you are a superstar, and I need you to realize that.” Speaking to Tim Westwood on BBC Radio 1 Xtra, Minaj revealed that, although she thought Drake was innocent, he still needed to be careful of his reputation.” “He did nothing wrong, of course. Rumors are rumous, and that there’s what it is. Sometimes, you just need to go to bed. Chris Brown: Arrested For Gun Possession at BET Awards?

Following Sunday night’s BET Awards, rumors were running rampant that Chris Brown was arrested backstage for illegally possessing a firearm. Speculation surfaced that the R&B star was going to great lengths to protecting himself against possible retaliation from Drake and Meek Mill. In the wake of the Chris Brown-Drake fight last month, and given that we’re dealing with Chris Brown in general, it didn’t seem far fetched. But it’s not true. Brown, who was among the BET Awards winners last night, was out and about celebrating last night, completely arrest- and controversy-free. A rep for the singer also confirms there was no altercation of any kind Sunday. Incidentally, Drake wasn’t at the show, and Meek Mill, who was also involved in the NYC nightclub brawl, was not at the BET after party with Chris. Consider the rumor debunked, and chalk it up to the crazy Twitterverse. In other, less controversial Brown news, he Tweeted condolences to his ex this weekend after Rihanna’s grandmother died . That was nice of him.

Rihanna’s Grandmother Dies of Cancer; Chris Brown Tweets Condolences

Chris Brown disses Drake on his new remix track following their nightclub brawl, but he’s still got nothing but love when it comes to ex-girlfriend Rihanna. Rih is dealing with the death of her beloved grandmother, Ciara “Dolly” Brathwaite, in recent days, and has posted touching tweets and photos of her. “Goodbye #grangranDOLLY get your beauty rest until I see you,” she wrote. Brathwaite died of cancer late last week, and in the wake of the passing of “Gran Gran Dolly”, Brown posted a nice Tweet about Rihanna’s grandma. “Praying for family and the lost loved one. She was like my grandmother. Love you GRAN GRAN DOLLY! RIP,” said the 23-year-old R&B star. Brown’s mom, Joyce Hawkins, shared similar sentiments. “@rihanna ANGEL MAY GOD BE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN YOUR TIME OF SORROW. LOVE YOU ANGEL,” Hawkins tweeted Saturday as well. Clearly, Brown was once close to the singer and her family. Of course, Rihanna unfollowed Chris awhile back so it’s unclear if she’s seen this. Maybe he can mention it at their next hotel rendezvous .
