Beating women is bad for business. Rogers Communications Drops Sponsorship Of Canada Concert After Chris Brown Booked To Perform Via E! Chris Brown’s name can still make waves—even North of the Border. One of the sponsors of a concert in northeastern Canada has withdrawn its support of the event after learning that Brown was scheduled to perform, E! News has confirmed. Energy Rush, a show put on by radio station Energy 103.5, is scheduled for Aug. 31 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The station’s website gives Chris Brown top billing for the show. Rogers Communications, a major Canadian telecommunications firm, states that that it pulled its sponsorship from the show specifically because Brown has been added to the bill. According to their statement: “Rogers has been a sponsor of the Energy Rush concert series for the last seven years, an opportunity that has brought many popular musical acts to metro Halifax,” a company spokesperson told E! News. “Our agreement to continue sponsorship of the series was made before Chris Brown’s appearance was announced. However, as soon as he was confirmed as one of eight performers, we decided to withdraw our sponsorship at this time. “We have shared a great partnership with the local radio station for the last seven years and we appreciate their understanding of our decision,” the spokesperson added. Apparently Rogers was had NO idea that “Beat ‘Em Down” Brown would be taking the stage until the “F #TeamBreezy” tweeters pulled their coat (see, “snitched”). Troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan is set to sit down with Oprah Winfrey for an exclusive tell-all interview after she gets out of rehab – and that’s not all. Oprah’s OWN cable network has signed LiLo to an eight-episode docu-series that will follow the actress as she works to rebuild her career and health. The interview will air in August, the series to air in 2014. The network confirmed both projects in a statement: “OWN will air an exclusive interview with Oprah and Lindsay Lohan that will tape and air in August and an eight-part documentary series with Lindsay for 2014.” The 27-year-old is currently serving a 90-day court-ordered stint in a rehab facility that is expected to conclude on July 31 (pray for her and for us). Getting her first post-rehab interview is considered a big scoop, while the series is arguably even bigger, as LiLo has eschewed reality TV for years. Her family participated in an E!’s Living Lohan in 2008, if you remember back that far, but in the years since, she’s preferred to stay focused on acting. At least if you consider Liz & Dick or The Canyons acting. The latter looks like a glorified way to get Lindsay Lohan nude again, but to each their own. Over the last year, Oprah’s Next Chapter has scored Whitney Houston’s family, Lance Armstrong’s doping admission, and Rihanna’s tear-filled Chris Brown confessional. Friends close to Drake say the star anticipated Rihanna and Chris’ split. The 26-year-old chart topper allegedly never stopped loving the Barbadian beauty and even sacrificed his happiness in pursuit of her. “[Drake’s been] waiting patiently on the sidelines. Just over a month ago, Drake gave Rihanna an ultimatum. He told her he needed to move on if she wasn’t going to commit,” an insider explained. “His love life was paused when Chris and Rihanna reunited, and Drake claims it caused him stress headaches, writer’s block and anxiety. He was obviously sick of it, but Rihanna wasn’t ready for him. Now Chris and Rihanna are done for good, Drake might finally get his chance.” Rihanna and Drake have been increasing communication with each other over the past few weeks.
