Who will go home on The Voice this week? The results are in, and as always, had the potential to go down to the wire and shock viewers. Downloads of The Voice Top 10 performances , which are one component of The Voice results along with online voting, showed a trend: Two groups, contenders and pretenders, emerged. Six of the top 10 singers ranked in the top 14 spots in the iTunes singles chart after last night’s efforts. Four … did not. By a long shot. It was likely, then, that perhaps all three singers in jeopardy tonight – when TWO would go home – would come from that latter group. Was that how it played out? Or would Josh Gallagher, Austin Allsup, Aaron Gibson and Courtney Harrell gain surprising entry into the semis? Let’s break it down in this week’s Voice results ! Before we got to the results, let’s just take a moment to thank the producers for getting Dolly Parton on board for tonight’s live extravaganza. We got TWO performances out of her and she really showed some of the other competitors just how high the bar was for success. I mean, at this stage of the game, there should be a ten acts who can sing flawlessly, but sadly, that’s not what’s going on with the show. We have people like Courtney Harrell who are struggling and should have been eliminated weeks ago. It sucks for the acts that genuinely can sing their way out of anything. Now to the results… Assigned Safety (In chronological order) Brendan Fletcher (Team Adam) Sundance Head (Team Blake) Christian Cuevas (Team Alicia) Ali Caldwell (Team Miley) Billy Gilman (Team Adam) Wé McDonald (Team Alicia) Josh Gallagher (Team Adam) That left Courtney Harrell, Austin Allsup and Aaron Gibson in the bottom three. As you can probably expect, Courtney had her work cut out for her going against both Austin and Aaron. It was almost like she gave up before she even got to work on the stage with her song to save her. Austin and Aaron were both great, so it sucked that both of them were in danger. Usually, the GOP serves up some Corinthians-quoting loaf of sentient Wonder Bread to ensure the support of non-millionaires who are kept up nights by the thought of married gay couples barging into their homes, confiscating their guns, and using the weapons to force pregnant women into abortion clinics. No one who has anything other than 1,700 versions of the Bible on their Kindle has ever had that many kids (fact, we looked it up), so needless to say, the Duggars are quite conservative on social matters. Endorsing him isn’t exactly a great look for a family that’s still coping with the fallout of its own recent sex scandal. But if you thought that would stop the Dugz from throwing support behind the Cheeto-fingered predator their party nominated, you don’t know the American political climate in 2016. We already knew that Duggar son-in-law Derick Dillard would be voting for Trump . Now, it seems the rest of the family has also reluctantly decided to back the Donald – but they’ve decided to continue to let Der do the talking. The Duggars have close ties to both Mike Huckabee and Ted Cruz, both of whom previously opposed Trump’s run for office, but have since expressed their support for the human throbbing forehead vein of American politics. Insiders say the Duggars have followed suit, but will continue to have Derick do the talking, so as not to alienate members of their ever-shrinking audience who actually hold the beliefs that the Duggars adhere to when it’s convenient. “Voting for Trump doesn’t = condoning his lifestyle. It just means agreeing with more of his policies than Clinton’s,” Derick tweeted earlier this week… …as though we’ve suddenly been plunged into the heart of a bizarro land where evangelical voters suddenly don’t care about the perceived moral failings of their elected officials. Sources say the other Duggars have privately echoed Derick’s sentiments, but their beliefs have more to do with maintaining hard-earned political alliances than with their belief in Trump as a candidate. However, there’s one member of the extended Duggar clan who seems more than a bit troubled by the possibility of a Trump presidency: Jessa Duggar’s husband, Ben Seewald. In recent weeks, Seewald has expressed support for the Black Lives Matter movement , told white Christians to “wake up” with regard to racial injustice in America, and publicly shared his doubts about Trump’s fitness to hold the highest office in the land: “Trump’s 2005 remarks about women is completely contrary to everything that we believe in as Christians,” Seewald recently tweeted, demonstrating both a willingness to think for himself and a poor understanding of subject-verb agreement. And this is where the video gets taken to a whole new level of viral awesomeness. “I’ve gotta collect myself because this is what our youth is being subjected to,” she says prior to reading the song’s lyrics, word-by-word. Charlotte Protester Justin Carr Dies From Gunshot Wound The protester that was shot in the head during last night’s Charlotte protest has died in the hospital. 26-year-old Justin Carr passed away late Thursday evening, after being shot by an unknown assailant. Many witnesses on the ground claim that Carr was gunned down by a Charlotte PD officer during a police ambush on the peaceful protest…a claim which the city still denies. Via MailOnline : The demonstrator who was shot in the head during Wednesday night’s riots in Charlotte has died. Justin Carr, 26, died on Thursday after being critically wounded during the unrest over the shooting of Keith Lamont Scott by a police officer. Carr was shot as protesters clashed with police in riot gear lined arm-in-arm protecting the Omni Hotel at about 8.30pm. City officials say Carr was not shot by an officer, but some protesters have claimed that he was wounded by a cop. No arrests have been made in Carr’s death, but a homicide investigation has been launched. Police Chief Kerr Putney says the detectives are determined to find who fired the fatal shots. Among those who question the city’s account of Carr’s shooting is the Charlotte Clergy Coalition for Justice. Several coalition members were just 10 feet from the victim when he was shot, according to the Charlotte Observer. ‘I saw the man go down on the pavement,’ Minister Steve Knight of Mission gathering Christian Church in Charlotte said. ‘It was an ambush. The victim was shot while he stood between two ministers, and we believe he was shot by police.’ SMH. Mr. Grey will see you… in February 2017! The sequel to the hit movie is just months away and we could not be more excited. Sure, it was ludicrous in every sense of the imagination, but we must know what happens next. Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson will return as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, respectively. The movie will center on the continued relationship between Grey and Steele, but their relationship will take a darker turn. We’re not sure that was even possible, but we’ll for sure be watching the movie. The official poster is as elegant as you would imagine. Naturally, Grey is putting a masquerade ball mask on Steele. Should we have expected anything less? This is a movie about BDSM. She looks very happy to have it on and even poses for the camera. The teaser trailer for the new movie was also uploaded to Instagram. This comes one day before the official trailer is set to make its way on to the internet. Fans will no doubt be super happy with the teaser. Obviously, it doesn’t give much away. It’s more of a taster before the full trailer is released. The second and third movies were shot back-to-back and production is now complete, so he’s completed the work he was contracted. There is word that a fourth movie in the franchise could be made, but this would depend on whether E.L James was open to writing another novel in the series. There’s also a possibility that a movie version could be made from Christian’s perspective. It wouldn’t be all that interesting, but it would probably make some more money for the studio. The first movie was critically panned, but it managed to make $571 million at the worldwide box office. That’s hardly a number to sneeze at considering the production budget was $40 million. The movie could make a lot less this time round and still be considered a huge success. There is a chance that the negative reaction to the first movie could echo through to the sequel. That happen a lot with movies. If you release a turd, don’t expect the fans to return. Maybe a turd is a strong word to use, but the quality of the finished product did not live up to the huge hype.
