Officer Brad Miller Fired For Christian Taylor Murder The officer who fatally shot unarmed Texas teen Christian Taylor has officially been fired. Arlington police chief Will Johnson told reporters today that rookie cop Brad Miller was off the job for killing Taylor when “no physical contact between them” was made. The New York Times reports: A rookie police officer who shot and killed a Texas college football player inside a car dealership in suburban Dallas was fired on Tuesday, the police said. Chief Will Johnson of the Arlington police said that the officer, Brad Miller, 49, had been fired for the “inappropriate judgment” in the fatal shooting of Christian Taylor, 19. Chief Johnson said Officer Miller had entered the building without his partner, leading to an “an environment of cascading consequences.” Police had said that Mr. Taylor was shot on Friday as he tried to flee from officers who had been dispatched to the Arlington dealership after reports of a suspected burglary. The Tarrant County medical examiner found that Mr. Taylor had gunshot wounds to his neck, chest and abdomen. At a news conference, Chief Johnson said Tuesday that Mr. Miller made bad decisions in communicating with other officers and initially approaching Mr. Taylor on his own without a plan for arrest. There were other officers on scene, the chief told reporters, including Mr. Miller’s training officer, who tried to use a Taser to subdue the suspect. “Based on a preponderance of evidence available to me and facts revealed by the investigative team, I have decided to terminate Officer Miller’s employment with the Arlington Police Department for exercising poor judgment,” Chief Johnson told a news conference. Dallas Officer Shoots And Kills Unarmed Teen Yet another unarmed Black teenager has died at the hands of a police officer. This time, the incident took place in Dallas, Texas . Via DallasNews : A police officer in training fatally shot an unarmed teen burglary suspect early Friday at a car dealership, Arlington police said. Officer Brad Miller shot and killed 19-year-old Christian Taylor after officers responded to a burglary in progress about 1 a.m. at the Classic Buick GMC near Interstate 20 and Collins Street, police said. Taylor was unarmed, police said. The dealership’s security company reported the burglary when its cameras recorded a man at the dealership, police said. The suspect drove a SUV through the dealership showroom’s glass doors, Sgt. Paul Rodriguez said. When police arrived they found the man in the dealership’s showroom and approached him. Miller shot Taylor after an “altercation,” police said. Taylor died at the scene, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office. A little more than a week before his death, Taylor tweeted “I don’t wanna die too younggggg.” Miller, 49, has been with the Arlington Police Department since September 2014 and graduated from the police academy in March, police said. He had no commendation or discipline record at the department. Prior to joining the department Miller had no police experience. At the time of the shooting he was in field training and under the supervision of a police training officer. Miller was placed on administrative leave, Rodriguez said. Administrative leave, huh. SMH. Following Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar’s controversial interview with Megyn Kelly, the comedian told the reality stars to stop “[downplaying”] Josh Duggar’s sexual assaults, “especially after what you guys have done in the name of Christianity and God to other people.” Simply put, Goldberg reiterated: “Don’t bring up God. Their conservative political views have always been controversial, but to fans and critics alike, the Duggars personified modesty, faith and family. How quickly that image has been tarnished since Josh, 27, admitted he “acted inexcusably” as a teenager, having allegedly abused his own sisters. Rumors of the former Christian lobbyist’s past are nothing new, though. In fact, a commenter named “Alice” made the claims on ibiblio (dot) org in 2007. Alice gave a thorough, detailed account of events that are nearly identical to those outlined in Josh Duggar police report that became public this week: “In January, the whole family went to Chicago and taped Oprah Winfrey show … As you may have noticed, that show never aired and it never will.” Alice then dropped the bombshell that The Oprah Winfrey Show staff members had been told that Josh had molested five minor girls. According to reports, when the patriarch discovered that his son “inappropriately touched” an underage female, he took decisive action. Hauling the wayward teen to the Arkansas State Police, sources say he was so “mortified” by his son’s actions and felt he had little choice. As a result, “Jim Bob did what he thought was right.” The case was reportedly buried by former state trooper Joseph Hutchens, who is currently serving 56 years in prison on child pornography charges. By the time the Crimes Against Children Division was later contacted about the Josh Duggar case, the three-year statute of limitations had expired. Josh is now married to Anna Duggar and is the father of three kids of his own, with a fourth on the way; their daughter is due this summer. Fans who watch 19 Kids and Counting online also know he heads up the Family Research Council’s legislative affairs as a D.C. lobbyist.
