P olitical enemies of Minnesota’s Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison are using every trick to turn what should have been a relatively easy campaign for state attorney general into a nightmare. The petitioners wanted to see if there was documentation that Ellison physically abused his ex-wife, in the hope of substantiating the recent domestic abuse allegations by his ex-girlfriend. Karen Monahan , the congressman’s ex-girlfriend, made the claims in August — just days before Minnesota’s primary election. Ellison immediately denied the charge. Monahan claimed to have video evidence that shows Ellison attacking her, but she has declined to release any footage, raising serious doubts about its existence. Conservative news site Alpha News was one of the petitioners that spearheaded the effort to unseal the divorce records. However, there was no evidence in the documents that Ellison was abusive toward his ex-wife, Kim Ellison . Surprisingly, the congressman described instances of Kim Ellison physically abusing him. “I understand perhaps better than most that as a public official, my personal life falls under higher scrutiny than others. But to pry into the details of a sealed divorce file that the Court previously ordered closed, on the eve of an election, is shameful and outrageous,” Ellison said, calling Alpha News “a far-right propaganda outlet with a history of racism and religious bigotry.” The records involve Ellison's 2012 divorce from ex-wife Kim Ellison. According to a report by Business Of Fashion , LV will be slotted as the top apparel brand on Interbrand’s yearly “Best Global Brands” list. As per the official press release the chart “analyzes how the Best Global Brands are achieving bold transformation that drives lasting economic value through brand strength. Key trends include customer-centricity, positive utility, the rise of luxury, and the success of subscription models.” For 2018 the luxury house came in at a number 18. Additionally it was named as one of the five “Top Growing Brands” with a 23 percent growth from 2017. The high placement should come as no surprise considering their recent announcement of Virgil Abloh as the director of menswear. “Louis Vuitton’s strength of point of view runs through everything they do. They have been relentless with their engagement with millennials, they’ve gone a lot deeper with their appointment of Virgil [Abloh] and they’re investing in people” explained Rebecca Robbins Global Chief Learning & Culture Officer at Interbrand. The brand consultancy firm notes that the luxury sector as a whole has experienced a spike. “It is astonishing. Luxury is the biggest story of the report. It’s their ability to connect to cultures and next generations. They have cracked the code by having a point of view in the market. Luxury is a space of excellence, whether its fashion, leather or jewellery” Robbins stated. Prairie View A&M defeated Grambling State 22-16 in the 93 rd State Fair Classic at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas Saturday night, signaling that a changing of the guard in the SWAC Western Division could be at hand. The Panthers (3-3, 2-0 SWAC) led from wire to wire en route to ending the two-time defending SWAC champion G-Men’s 26-game conference winning streak and beating them for the first time since 2013. Prairie View won even though Grambling (1-3, 1-1 SWAC) held the Panthers’ two most explosive weapons in check relatively well. Quarterback Jalen Morton completed 23 of 34 passes for 269 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 62 more yards. But that was a sub-par performance for him compared to the 511 yards – which included a school record 255-yard rushing effort – and six touchdowns that he accounted for last week. Running back Dewonya Tucker, the leading rusher in all of Division I football, ran the ball 19 times for 72 yards. The Panthers compensated for their offensive unit’s lack of fireworks with a stifling defensive effort. They held the G-Men without a touchdown until the fourth quarter; they harassed Grambling quarterbacks the entire time, registering 10 sacks with defensive end Willie Green accounting for three, and they held the G-Men to 42 rushing yards on 32 attempts. Grambling had 278 yards total offense and only averaged 3.3 yards a play. It’s been almost seven months since David Eason was fired from Teen Mom 2 for hurling bigoted slurs at fans on social media. But Jenelle Evans’ husband has made a point of not backing away from his controversial stances. In fact — because 2018 is nightmarish hellscape in which every idiot with an opinion feels that they need to cram it down your throat on a daily basis until you run screaming for the “block” button — he’s been more outspoken than ever in recent weeks. You see, David is one of those well-heeled straight, Christian white guys who has somehow convinced himself he’s an oppressed minority. In David’s mind, the whole world is out to get him, and the barbarians are forever at his gates, which is why he needs to be armed to the teeth in order to defend himself. And he’s been expressing that view in increasingly offensive fashion lately with the help of the preferred weapon of internet jackasses everywhere — memes. As The Ashley’s Reality Roundup points out , David posted the above meme earlier this week, and predictably, the reaction from fans has been one of mingled confusion and outrage. “Why gun control? Because armed people will NOT willingly load themselves into railroad boxcars,” reads the caption. So … does David really think he’s at risk of being sent off to a concentration camp? Even though Audrey Roloff is quitting Little People, Big World because it’s God’s plan , she’s still a public figure. Fans and followers can still see glimpses of her life on social media. So color many fans surprised when none other than Jacob Roloff, Audrey’s brother-in-law, showed up on her Instagram. And no shade was thrown. Have Auj and Jacob really buried their feud? On Saturday, August 4, Auj took to her Instagram stories to share a glimpse of her spending family time with her husband and his siblings. That’s right — all four Roloff siblings, each with their respective significant others. She captioned her image “Ice cream walks.” in it, you can see that Audrey and Jacob, her brother-in-law, are getting along perfectly well. Auj goes out of her way to pan over to Jacob where he is walking with his fiancee, Isabel Rock. Awwww, they look so cute! Jacob doesn’t follow Audrey on Instagram — he also doesn’t follow his father, Matt Roloff. But Audrey has “liked” nearly all of his posts for a while, now. They might not really seem like best buddies on social media, but it looks like they’re getting along well enough in real life. Feud rumors have swirled about these two since long before Audrey skipped Jacob’s engagement party , but it looks like things have improved. At the very least, neither feels the need to skip out on a family activity where the other is present. Some feuds are brought about by a specific instance. Someone was snubbed, or had a huge fight. While it’s possible that something like that happened behind closed doors between Jacob and Auj, Jacob doesn’t do the family’s show so fans certainly haven’t seen it. Instead, it looks like these two have ideological differences. Jacob is an outspoken agnostic who resents having been brought up with no choice about his own religious beliefs or activities. That’s an understandable source of anger. No one likes to feel powerless. Audrey is a diehard Christian whose views lean towards the traditional and conservative, even going so far as to refer to a “twisted generation” while praying for her daughter . In other words, these two are apparent opposites. The only thing that they seem to have in common is Jeremy Roloff and nice hair. Since Jacob and Audrey see the world in such different ways — and both are so outspoken — how are they able to get along so well? Part of that is almost certainly that they are just getting accustomed to each other. They are, after all, family. But there may be a secret ingredient to how these two in-laws are getting along: Isabel Rock. A number of fans believe that Isabel quashed Audrey and Jeremy’s feud and helped them to mend fences earlier this year. Sometimes, being aggressively friendly and loving two people can, in the nicest possible way, strongarm them into getting along. And it seems to have worked. At the moment, the Roloff siblings are all visiting their grandfather in California. He will turn 90 on January 1, 2019. It is wonderful to see and hear that Jacob and Audrey can set aside their differences for family activities — like ice cream walks. It is normal for close relatives to have wildly different views. What makes a family non-toxic is when they can respect each other’s views. Respecing them doesn’t mean pretending that they agree. But since neither Jacob nor Audrey are, like, nazis or whatever, it’s good that they can get along amicably. And it’s great that Isabel (allegedly) orchestrated their happier relationship.
