Big Brother Recap: Is Josh Ready to Ditch Paul?

We think it’s fair to say that Big Brother 19 has featured some of most epic arguments in the history of Big Brother, and it’s making for a house divided.  When the episode got underway, Josh made his way to Jessica to let her know that she is not his target. Jessica was not about to bow down to him, so she mocked him once again.  Over the course of the summer, the pair has been at odds every step of the way, so it made sense that Jess would think Josh was trying to stir the pot.  Josh then lets her know that it’s only Cody he does not like, and Cody was in the room, so it was a rather ballsy move when you consider that Cody has immunity.  Jessica is not one to allow anyone to talk badly about her man of so many weeks, so she exits the conversation and brands it a big fat waste of time.  When it came to veto plans, Paul recalled that Christmas had the Ring of Replacement, and decided to use it to his advantage. He wanted her to use it in the event Cody’s name is called.  However, Paul revealed in the Diary Room that he wants Christmas to use it so that he can flush it out of the game so that she does not use it against him later.  Not one to listen to the leader, Christmas turned to Josh, and he told her not to use it so they can have it at their disposal later.  They tell Paul that they don’t want to use the power this week, but Paul turns the tables and reiterates that they absolutely need to send Jessica home or there will be hell to pay.  Christmas then says the best course of action is if Josh blinks at Christmas during the players being picked. That way she will know to use it.  When Cody’s name is picked, Josh blinks, and Christmas shuts him right out of the competition. This sends Jessica and Cody into a fit of despair as they realize the odds are stacked against them.  It’s the OTEV competition, and Elena is first out. Jessica is out second and starts crying again because she knows that means she is going home.  Mark ultimately wins the competition, meaning Josh needs to name a replacement nominee.  In the end, Josh puts up Raven, meaning she joins Elena and Jessica on the block.  It’s obvious that Jessica is going home, so there’s really no question about it.  Who do you want to go home? John Heard: Shocking Cause of Death Revealed?!

Yesterday, we heard the tragic news that John Heard had passed away. He was 72 years old. John, an actor best known for his roles in the Home Alone movies and for his stint on The Sopranos, was found dead in a hotel room on Friday in Palo Alto, California. Hotel staff called for help, but he was pronounced dead as soon as police arrived on the scene. At this point, his death is being investigated by the coroner — there was no obvious cause, but foul play is not suspected. Interestingly, his rep revealed that just two days before John’s body was found, he had a minor back surgery. He was staying at the hotel while he recovered. So what happened? Did he experience some complications from the surgery? Did he have other unknown health issues? Obviously, we won’t know for sure until the coroner releases a report. But in the meantime, John’s third wife, Lana Pritchard, believes she knows what happened to the beloved actor. Lana, who was married to John for seven months in 2010 but who remained close with him, says in an interview with Radar Online that she was “heartbroken” to hear the news of his death. “I cannot believe John is dead,” she states. “His second wife Sharon phoned me with the news and then I saw it all over social media.” And then she drops the bomb: “I firmly believe that he died from an accidental overdose from the pain medication after the surgery.” An accidental overdose? It’s possible, we suppose — anything is. She says that “He was in so much pain from sciatica that he had problems walking and it was really getting him down.” Lana also adds that, in the past few years, his sciatica had gotten worse, but he was scared of taking painkillers because he didn’t want to get addicted. “John told his doctor that the medication changed his moods so he was placed on a low dosage,” she explains, “but I know he was in a lot of pain.” Another layer to the issue is that John’s son, Max, passed away at the age of 22 back in December — and Lana alleges that Max died from an overdose. She claims that John “had struggled to come to terms with the death of his son Max from an overdose,” and that he also “hated being riddled with pain as he wanted to be active.” “I spoke with him on Tuesday before the surgery,” she continues, “and he was in positive spirits but he did not want anyone to help him — I feel so bad because I think I could have done more.” “He was a kind guy and we have known each other for many years. I’m worried that he lay in the hotel room dead for a few days, that is very sad.” It really, really is. “I am going to miss John,” Lana concludes. “He always took time for his fans and he was at heart a good person and a really talented actor too, he was liked by a lot of people.” Whatever caused his death, it really does seem like his work touched a lot of people. RIP, John. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2017: In Memoriam

Scott Disick: I’m Not a Sex Addict, I Swear!

Scott Disick is, to be honest, a complete and total mess right now. Since the beginning of this year, he’s been on a seriously scary downward spiral — one that apparently has friends concerned that he’s on the verge of killing himself. Killing himself with booze , to be specific. From where we’re sitting — and things could have happened differently privately, of course — the issue began back in January on the Kardashian family vacation to Costa Rica. Before that, we’d been hearing rumors that Scott and Kourtney Kardashian may have been rekindling their romance, but for some reason, he brought along another girl for the vacation. He tried to hide the girl in his hotel room, but Kim Kardashian found out about it, and she went off on Scott, calling him a whore and all sorts of other bad names. He left the vacation early and went to Miami, where he was photographed with multiple women and multiple adult beverages. And things just sort of went from there. Scott’s been seen with countless hookups since then, including Bella Thorne , and it’s clear that he’s just not in a good place. He’s been open about his issues with alcoholism in the past, and in response to the Costa Rica incident, he even confessed that he’s a sex addict. But in a new interview with E! News, he’s trying to spin things in a more positive light. “I would say I think it’s a little rude that everybody keeps addressing me as a sex addict,” he said. “I just like sex, but I’m not a sex addict.” “I said that in a humorous, joking fashion on the show and now I’m getting billed as one, and it’s not the case. I do like sex, but I am not an addict.” He was asked if he thought his appetite for sex was healthy, and he clarified that he does have “a gargantuan appetite,” but still, he’s “not an addict!” Whatever you say, Scott. We’re sure all single fathers of three young children behave this way. Oddly enough, when asked about his love life, he said “I just try to live and be decently happy … no girlfriends or anything like that.” No girlfriends, just a never-ending string of hookups, right? He also seemed to confirm Bella Thorne’s statement that she was never intimate with him by explaining that “We have nothing to do with each other romantically.” As for Kourtney, he said “We love spending time together and with the kids. That’s never been a question.” “I feel like sometimes the outside perspective thinks that maybe we are not on good terms, but we are. We stay strong for our three children, and that’s pretty much all we can do.” He sounds good in this interview, but then again he’s never been one to be sloppy in interviews. He usually saves it for paparazzi and Keeping Up with the Kardashians cameras. Just … just do better, OK, Scott? View Slideshow: 12 Times Scott Disick Was a Total Douche

Leah Messer: I’d Put My Husband Ahead of My Kids (If I Had One)!

Leah Messer used to be one of the hottest messes in Teen Mom history. She was filmed nodding off while holding a baby, she lost custody of her twins because she couldn’t manage to get them to school on time … It was bad. Really bad. But after her trip to rehab a couple of years ago, she seems to be doing much better. These days, at long last, it finally seems like she’s starting to get her life together . And that’s why it’s extra odd that she chose to make such a controversial, concerning statement on Instagram. Last night, Leah reposted a quote from Christian life coach about marriage and children. “Ladies,” the quote read, “in marriage your husband comes first, then your child. As a single mother who isn’t married, of course you shouldn’t put any man before them, but that changes when you vow to be one with a man.” “He comes first as your partner, provider and protector.” And before you ask, no, this quote didn’t come from a Duggar woman’s social media page. This is actually from Leah. In the caption, she explicitly stated that she agrees with this sentiment … and her followers were not pleased. “This is the stupidest thing I have heard,” one of them wrote. “Your kids always come first, you married someone to start a life not to be their slave.” “What century do you live in because a man is NOT the only provider in a household in today’s world. And if he doesn’t care about his kids and more about his needs and wants then honey you married the wrong man.” “Nope, kids FIRST,” another person told her. “I am actually surprised that you think a husband should come first …” “Stupid! You have too many baby daddies to pull this!” another naysayer wrote. One of her followers even told her “You’re not a good role model for our 3 girls if you think that way. We don’t live in the year 1800 anymore. Take responsibility for your own be a strong woman.” And that’s just a small sample of the kind of criticism she’s been getting — so far, the post has over 2,000 comments, most of them from people who disagree with her here. And honestly, it really is surprising that she feels this way. It makes sense that it’s important to make marriage a priority instead of placing 100% of your time and energy into your children, but Leah’s a single mother. If she does remarry, of course she has to put her kids first, right? Not to mention any quote about depending on a man to be the “provider and protector” sends up red flags, especially because Leah has been providing for her children for many years now. It’s actually hard to imagine any relationship she’d be in in which she wasn’t the main provider, what with all that Teen Mom money . Then there’s the fact that in her previous marriages, her husbands didn’t come first, nor did her children — she actually put herself first. Remember, she cheated on both Corey Simms and Jeremy Calvert. We’re sure she’s grown since then though, and maybe she’s just interested in trying out new tactics for her next marriage, whenever that may be. But just be careful, girl. Big Brother Recap: A Reversal of Fortune

It’s crazy to think that Jessica and Cody were once pariahs in the Big Brother house. With Paul successfully getting Cody out of the game, Jessica seemed poised to hang around and be a vote for people when they needed it.  Apparently, they did not bank on America granting Jessica the Halting Hex power, which gives her the ability to cancel an eviction live on air.  Jessica reacted in shock to the return of Cody and quickly revealed to him that he needed to keep his mouth shut because she had repaired most of the relationships in the house they fractured.  Cody was happy to hear about it because he saw it as a reset for his game. He did reveal that they were going to be targeted from that point forward.  Jessica then dropped the bomb that she had the Halting Hex and that she would be able to save them if they were on the block. Cody was excited to learn this.  The other houseguests gathered to say it was ten against two and that they would find a way to get rid of Cody again. They understood they needed to ace the HOH competition.  During the competition, the other houseguests kept punishing Cody, so he had garbage, cement and other things thrown at him. On top of that, he had to contend with a man who yelled at him over parking.  Josh made it clear he and Jessica were his targets, and he would get one of them out of the house if he won the competition. He dropped out and immediately started trying to distract Cody.  It worked, and Cody dropped out. In the end, it was Christmas and Jessica fighting for the top spot. In a surprise move, Jessica won the competition, effectively securing Jody’s safety for two weeks.  They then noticed the houseguests who ditched them in the past appeared to try and get back in their good graces. Jessica revealed the only ones she could work with were Raven and Matt.  They both agreed they would work as a four-person alliance, but would Raven and Matt actually defect now? Well, they want safety for this week.  Josh tried to speak with Jessica, but Cody shut him down and said the pair would not be talking to him. Jessica ultimately decided to nominate Josh and Ramses.  Did she make the right move? Sound off below! View Slideshow: Big Brother Winners: RANKED!

One Of R. Kelly’s Hostages Little Friends Says She’s Not A Captive, But Won’t Reveal Her Whereabouts

One Of R. Kelly’s “Kept Women” Speaks Out As we’re sure you’ve heard by now, R. Kelly’s been accused of preying on young women YET AGAIN — this time, keeping a bevy of brainwashed young beauties holed up in a mansion together and cutting them off from their families solely for his own sexual pleasure and entertainment. That’s if you believe the parents of one of his alleged “victims,” 21-year-old Joycelyn Savage. In addition to a lengthy expose by Buzzfeed, Joycelyn’s parents held a press conference detailing how brainwashed they believe her to be, detailing her personality changes, and her supposed inability to leave the home R. Kelly has placed her in without his permission. Now, TMZ has caught up with Joycelyn, and she pretty unconvincingly is reporting that she is a-okay and her parents need to leave her alone: ….right. Nevermind the fact that the shadow of whoever was filming her clearly made a “cut it” motion with their hand when it came to questions about where she is and who’s there with her . She also confirms she hasn’t steadily spoken to her family in nearly six months while she’s under Kellz’ “care.” Yeah, sounds SUPER voluntary. Granted, this girl is an adult — regardless of how young and lost she sounds here. We don’t know how much recourse the family truly has when she’s over 21 and claiming that she is choosing to do what she’s doing and simply not ever speak to or see them. Mind you, Kelly’s 19-year-old “girlfriend” Halle Calhoun is allegedly part of his little clique. SMH. All of this is just…creepy. What do you think of Joycelyn’s synopsis of the situation? Jodie Whittaker Announced as First-Ever Female Doctor Who; Sexist Internet Loses Its $hit

The new Doctor is in. And the Internet is, naturally, very pissed off. On Sunday morning, BBC and BBC America announced via video and via press release that Jodie Whittaker has been named the 13th person to be cast as the title character on Doctor Who. It’s notable every time a new actor takes on this iconic role. But it’s especially notable in Whittaker’s case because she’s an actress . Yes, Jodie Whittaker is a woman. She’s the first woman to ever be cast as Doctor Who and she will officially take over for the departing Peter Capaldi on the Doctor Who Christmas special. Said new head writer Chris Chibnall of the casting decision: After months of lists, conversations, auditions, recalls, and a lot of secret-keeping, we’re excited to welcome Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor. I always knew I wanted the Thirteenth Doctor to be a woman and we’re thrilled to have secured our number one choice. Her audition for The Doctor simply blew us all away.   Jodie is an in-demand, funny, inspiring, super-smart force of nature and will bring loads of wit, strength and warmth to the role. The Thirteenth Doctor is on her way Whittaker, meanwhile, has the following to say: I’m beyond excited to begin this epic journey – with Chris and with every Whovian on this planet. It’s more than an honor to play the Doctor. It means remembering everyone I used to be, while stepping forward to embrace everything the Doctor stands for: hope. I can’t wait. Whittaker is probably best known for having played Beth Latimer on the British crime show Broadchurch … where she co-starred opposite David Tennant, who previously played the lead role on Doctor Who. She’s a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and appeared in the short film Wish 143. It centered on a 15-year-old boy with cancer and it was nominated for Best Live-Action short at the 2011 Academy Awards. Says Capaldi of the woman to whom he will be bequeathing this highly-sought-after part: Anyone who has seen Jodie Whittaker’s work will know that she is a wonderful actress of great individuality and charm. She has above all the huge heart to play this most special part. She’s going to be a fantastic Doctor. Despite the positive reaction from those associated with the series, this is the World Wide Web. A whole bunch of idiotic trolls out there are taking issue with the casting of a woman as Doctor Who (“What will be next, Jane Bond?” one of them asked), despite the fact that this is a time-traveling, shape-shifting alien with two hearts. If you somehow think the Doctor’s gender has any impact on his or her realism, well… just keep that sexist and ridiculous opinion to yourself, okay? Thankfully, the excitement on Twitter over Whittaker’s casting appears to be far louder than the criticism. To wit: “The fact that there was so much interest in, quite literally, ‘Who?’ speaks volumes about the enduring power of the Doctor Who franchise around the world and for BBC AMERICA viewers,” says BBC President Sarah Barnett, concluding: “We couldn’t be happier to welcome the remarkable Jodie Whittaker as a history making Thirteenth Doctor and look forward to the continuation of this story.” What do YOU think of this casting choice? Beyonce Shares Photo of Twins, CONFIRMS Baby Names!

After a solid month of rumors, gossip speculation and discussion from countless sources, we have finally heard from Beyonce herself. And Queen Bey delivered. Big time. The global music icon has confirmed the names of her newborn twins and shared the first photo of the pair, a fittingly glorious image. Somewhat amazingly, the widely circulated  Beyonce baby names we reported late last month actually turned out to be accurate. Neither the mother of three nor her husband Jay Z had publicly commented on the names (or even their birth, for that matter). As was the case with their first child, Blue Ivy Carter, the private couple kept all the details to themselves until they were ready. So we were left wondering when, or if, they would do so here, and highly skeptical of Internet reports citing “sources” with intel. But in this case, the rumors were true. “Sir Carter and Rumi 1 month today,” the 35-year-old captioned the photo above on Instagram in the early hours of Friday morning.  Posted four hours ago, it has already received more than four million Likes as we type … probably a lot more by the time you read this. (Don’t you even think of NOT engaging with it, either. The Beygency  has spreadsheets of all people who view it but don’t Follow or Like.) Also noteworthy – and overshadowed by that epic photo – is her acknowledgement of Sir and Rumi Carter’s birthday, one month ago. That would indicate the little kids’ birth as Wednesday, June 14, a solid 3-4 days before word got out that Beyonce gave birth to twins . Pretty impressive in this day and age. The family portrait, in which Bey wears a Palomo Spain ensemble, we’re told, evokes the same themes as her stunning maternity photo. Without question, the photo of her with the twins is a callback to Beyonce and Jay Z’s double baby announcement in February (above).  The couple reportedly filed trademark documents with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in late June to protect the baby names. Their company filed papers to trademark the monikers for items like fragrances and cosmetics to baby gear, tote bags, and water bottles. Are we serious? Yes, Sir! (Sorry, we had to.) Filing to trademark names of infants less than a month old may sound patently (eh, eh?) absurd for anyone not named Jay Z and Beyonce. Yet it makes perfect sense for the Carters, because you know someone would actually try to do exactly what they’re trying to prevent. (Sir Carter is gonna be an epic rap name, BTW.) Rumi and Sir join big sister Blue Ivy, 5. Their proud parents stepped out last night to support Roc Nation artist Vic Mensa in Los Angeles. In one of the A-list duo’s first public appearances since expanding their family, “she was all smiles,” an onlooker reports, and rightfully so. Dressed in a white long-sleeve mini dress, she had her arm wrapped around her 47-year-old husband’s waist as they left the bash. Jay-Z briefly went on stage Thursday night to introduce the rapper, who recently announced his debut album, The Autobiography . Neither addressed their family in any way, shape or form … likely knowing Beyonce planned to do so in the wee hours of this morning. It’s been a crazy month, much of which was spent in the hospital, but Beyonce and her family are all at living home, happy and healthy. For a while, their health was the subject of much discussion as the twins’ stay in the hospital dragged on longer than expected. From what we’re told, unspecified health issues after their birth – most likely signs of jaundice – delayed the duo’s departure significantly. While obviously concerning to any new parent, newborns spending time “under the lights” to correct possible liver issues is commonplace. There are no long-term effects or major health risks … only risks to mom and dad’s sanity being cooped up there for a week. Congrats again to the family! What do you think of the names? Hit or miss? Big Brother Recap: Another Twist Revealed

Tensions in the Big Brother house tend to skyrocket as we edge closer to an eviction, and things went into overdrive on the latest episode.  We picked up with the houseguests in shock over Josh publicly slamming Cody and Jessica. Alex noted that she was happy to let the argument rage on because it took the target off her own back.  Jessica chanted that Josh was a mere pawn for both sides of the house and that he should probably go and change his diaper. Cody decided there was no point in continuing the argument and walked off.  Paul followed and complimented him for taking his nomination like a man. Despite their differences, both of them knew when the other made a good move.  Later, Christmas gathered the houseguests and revealed that she needed major surgery on her foot. She explained that she was given the opportunity to leave the game, but she decided to stay in and fight it out.  Cody did not give a damn and felt like she was using the injury to advance her game further, and left the situation. Jessica, however, wanted to extend the olive branch to her.  Even though Jessica’s been Cody’s shadow all season long, she knew she needed to build relationships out with her relationship in order to make it further.  Christmas was not impressed with the way Jessica was going on about her reasons for wanting Christmas out. The funny thing is, Jessica had no clue about nominating Christmas.  It was a tense meeting, but the two women parted ways. There’s no chance of them ever finding a way to get along. Too much has been done for them to make things right.  Things went from bad to worse for Jessica when the houseguests celebrated Dominique’s birthday. Raven had made a cake, and the have nots did not get too have some.  Naturally, Jessica disappeared to another room and cried her heart out. Cody comforted her, but at least he got to eat cake.  Desperate to help Jessica’s game, Cody turned to Christmas to say that Mark and Dominique were in on the plan to get rid of Christmas from the get-go. Christmas was skeptical but took the information on board. He even went as far as telling her to work with Alex and Jessica. He may seem deluded at times, but at least he’s looking out for his girl. His plan took a bigger turn when he opened up about two people coming to him during his HOH reign. He revealed this to the house during Dominique’s talk show.  However, Dominique made a mistake by telling everyone there was a dominant group in the house and Paul was pissed. Everyone wondered why she would say something like that, but she did.  The target is most definitely on her now. It’s amazing how quickly things change in the game. One wrong thing can seal your fate.  At the eviction, Christmas was not present but managed to vote from the hospital. Yes, this is getting out of hand now. – Jessica votes to evict Ramses – Kevin votes to evict Ramses – Christmas (via phone from the hospital) votes to evict Ramses – Raven votes to evict Cody – Dominique votes to evict Cody – Mark votes to evict Cody – Jason votes to evict Cody – Josh votes to evict Cody – Elena votes to evict Cody – Matt votes to evict Cody The biggest shock in the voting was that Christmas voted to evict Ramses. It was bizarre and proved she could not be trusted.  Cody was evicted by a vote of 7-3-0! On his way out the door, he asked Jessica to be his girlfriend. To the surprise of absolutely no one, she accepted.  Julie then dropped the bomb that there will be a Battle Back next week, and Cody looked ecstatic. You could see wheels spinning as he plotted his revenge.  What did you think of all the drama? Sound off below! View Slideshow: Big Brother Winners: RANKED!

Big Brother Recap: Taking Shots

The veto meetings have long been a hilarious part of Big Brother. Emotions are heightened at the veto meetings because whatever is said during the gathering can dictate someone’s place in the game.  Through two veto meetings, we have had some of the most explosive confrontations yet, and it’s pretty darn exciting for us at home to watch.  When the episode got underway, Josh and Alex were on the block, and Cody confided in Jessica about Paul’s plan. They seemed to think Christmas and Paul were bullies.  Being an avid fan of the live feeds, all I’ve seen over the course of the summer is Jessica and Cody causing drama and thinking they are big competitors.  It’s true, they are just not good players, and they think that everyone else is bullying them. That says it all.  Anyway.  We finally got to find out what curse Christmas sent to Jason, Cody, and Jessica, and it was fantastic. They had to wear toad costumes for a whole week.  Jessica noted in the Diary Room that she was sure it was Christmas who unleashed the curse, but there was never really any question about it.  All the other houseguests could do was laugh at the players looking like fools.  Jessica and Cody knew they were toast if neither of them got to play in the veto and their worst fears came true when Elena and Matt were picked to play.  Jessica revealed that her only hope was that Ramses would win and take himself off because it would leave the nominations the same.  Paul and his team quickly locked on to Ramses and persisted with him to throw the competition, but Ramses made poor excuses and said he did not know what he would do.  In the end, he agreed to it, but when it came to the competition, he managed to come in second place. That immediately put him on the outs with Paul and his allies.  Thankfully, Paul eked out a win, and it gave him the power to change one of the nominations. As expected, Cody made his way to the block.  Josh, however, decided to self-destruct once again and called out both Jessica and Cody about the way they have played the game.  It was a classless move, but it was something Jessica and Cody would do, so I was all for it. Now, the final nominations are set.  Will it be Ramses, Alex or Cody sitting next to Julie tonight? Hit the comments below! View Slideshow: Big Brother Season 19: Cast Revealed!
