Movieline’s Week in Review: Be Very Afraid

It might seem like a miracle that there’s any news to collect here at all, but you’d be surprised what even the most stultifying week in the history of modern pop culture can yield. We do it all for you, Dear Reader. Anyway, it’s Friday, so enough already. Drop by this weekend to catch up with Christopher Rosen, and the rest of team ML will see you Monday. Bye! [Presses eject, is shot into space.]

Movieline’s Week in Review: Diff’rent Strokes to Move the World

And so another week ends at Movieline, thus bringing our regular Friday retrospective into sharp, clear and unusually bittersweet focus. It’s nothing a double bourbon (or whatever you’re drinking; put it on my tab) and a couple days off can’t fix, though. From all of us, have a fine weekend, and be sure to join Christopher Rosen here for your Movieline fix in the days ahead. Au revoir!

Movieline’s Week in Review: War is Hell

On this Memorial Day weekend, remember to take time to remember the American servicemen and women who paid the ultimate price so that you may live in a society that has the freedom to drop $80 million in five days on garbage like Sex and the City 2 . Then take another moment to remember the turbulent week behind us. All gave some, some gave all. Check back in here with Christopher Rosen in the days ahead, and have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Dark Knight Sequel Gets Release Date

A very excited Warner Bros. announced today that the long-awaited follow-up to The Dark Knight finally has a release date: July 20, 2012. The film doesn’t yet have a title, a cast, a plot, a director (though Christopher Nolan is widely assumed to be helming), or a format announcement (3D? IMAX ? Both?) but what would be the fun in divulging those? British tabloids need something to guess about . [ Box Office Mojo ]

The Horror, The Horror

Another week winds down at Movieline HQ, where a slower-than-average news week nevertheless resulted in some pretty sizable stories of crisis, duress and surgical butt-to-mouth conjoinment. You know how it goes. Have a stroll through our Week in Review, and check in this weekend as Christopher Rosen plays your favorite smooth hits from the ’80s, ’90s, ’00s and today. (But mostly today.) Have a great weekend!
