Fraudy Family: Al Sharpton’s Daughter Posts Hiking Pics After Suing NYC For Spraining Ankle

Al Sharpton’s Daughter Posts Hiking Pics After Suing NYC If you’re going to sue the city of New York for an ankle injury – it’s probably not a good idea to post pictures of yourself hiking on Instagram. Dominique Sharpton learned that valuable lesson this week when city lawyers warned her not to delete Instagram photos from atop an Indonesian mountain — where she trekked while claiming in a lawsuit that she had “permanent” injuries. “Her gallivanting around in high heels and climbing a mountain in Bali drastically diminish the value of her case because it clearly shows that her injuries are not severe, and as a result, she will not be paid or awarded any substantial amount of money by any rational jury,” said top Manhattan personal-injury lawyer Howard Hershenhorn. The city Law Department sent Sharpton a letter telling her to preserve all of the damning evidence that she posted on her social-media accounts. The picture above where she boasts that she and her friend, “hiked UP the mountain, over the clouds” was posted just a week after she filed the Manhattan Supreme Court suit. Now the city plans to use her social media account as proof that the case is bogus and fraudulent. “The purpose of this letter is to demand that plaintiff preserve any photographs, documents, communications and any other information, both tangible and electronically stored, potentially relevant to her alleged trip and fall on Dec. 23, 2014,” de Blasio administration lawyer Michele Fox wrote in a May 20 letter filed in Manhattan Supreme Court. “This demand should be construed broadly to encompass materials related to plaintiff’s health, mobility, activity or physical limitations after the alleged incident.” Yikes… Looks like the shady apple doesn’t fall to far from the tree!

Fraudy Family: Al Sharpton’s Daughter Sues New York City For $5 Million After Spraining Ankle

Al Sharpton’s Daughter Sues NYC After Spraining Her Ankle Shakedown artist Al Sharpton ’s eldest child wants $5 million from city taxpayers after she fell in the street and sprained her ankle, court records show. Via NY Post : Dominique Sharpton, 28, says she was “severely injured, bruised and wounded” when she stumbled over uneven pavement at the corner of Broome Street and Broadway downtown last year, according to a lawsuit. Currently on vacation in Bali, the membership director for her gadfly dad’s National Action Network claims she “still suffers and will continue to suffer for some time physical pain and bodily injuries,” according to the suit filed against the city departments of Transportation and Environmental Protection. “I sprained my ankle real bad lol,” she wrote in a post to Instagram after the Oct. 2 fall. She was pictured in a walking boot in the weeks following the tumble, but by December, Dominique was good to go for NAN’s Justice for All march in Washington, DC, and for a New Year’s Eve jaunt to Miami Beach. And despite claiming “permanent physical pain” in a breathless notice of claim in December, at around the same time there were social-media shots of her in high heels and fancy dresses and climbing a ladder to decorate a Christmas tree. The legal shakedown is right out of her dad’s pay-to-playbook. Al Sharpton has used threats of protests and boycotts against large companies as a way to generate huge corporate donations, his critics charge. Everyone from McDonald’s, Verizon, Macy’s, General Motors, Chrysler and Pfizer have forked over cash to the elder Sharpton. Even the daughter of Staten Island police chokehold victim Eric Garner was caught on video claiming Sharpton’s only concern was cash. Looks like apple doesn’t fall too far from the shady tree! Getty

Spike Lee Claps Back At “Haters” Who Aren’t Feeling The “Chiraq” Title Of His New Flick

Spike Lee Defends Controversial “Chiraq” Movie Title Spike Lee is Ray Charles to the critiques… Via HuffingtonPost Movie director Spike Lee, known for films that deal frankly with racial issues, appeared in Chicago on Thursday to defend his planned movie about the city, after its reported title, “Chiraq,” was criticized by local politicians. Speaking at a South Side church and surrounded by African-American mothers carrying pictures of children killed in street violence, Lee said artists hold up a mirror to society and are not afraid to tell the truth. “We have to stop the madness,” Lee said. “This is insane.” He said people who know nothing about it have been expressing opinions about the film. Lee referred to the movie’s “so-called title,” but did not say if “Chiraq” would be the title and did not take questions. “Chiraq” is street slang that compares the nation’s third largest city to the war zones of the Middle East. Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, U.S. Senator Dick Durbin, and local alderman Anthony Beale have expressed concern over the title, with Beale calling it “insulting.” Chicago recorded 407 murders in 2014, far ahead of the 328 recorded in the larger city of New York. Chicago has long fought a reputation for violence, enhanced by the mythology surrounding Prohibition-era gangster Al Capone. Many criticized Spike for negatively affecting Chicago’s tourism by releasing a film with such an intimidating title. Lee said he was not concerned about Chicago politics or tourism. “This is not about Chicago losing business,” Lee said. Referring to the grieving mothers around him, Lee said, “No one wants to be a member of this club right here.” Lee cited news reports that 14 people had been shot in the city the day before, with three killed. How do you feel about the term “Chiraq”? Is it the “reflection of society” as Spike claims, or is it a pejorative term for a city that has the blood of black people running in the streets?

New Music: Prince Releases Freddie Gray Tribute “Baltimore” [Audio]

Prince Releases New Track “Baltimore” In Honor Of Freddie Gray Via RawStory Prince on Saturday released “Baltimore,” the song he recorded in response to unrest in the city over the police custody death of Freddie Gray… A statement on Prince’s Soundcloud page on Saturday said he played all the instruments on the released version of the song, which features vocals from the singer and Eryn Allen Kane. The statement said Kane, “a powerhouse vocal arranger and producer in her own right”, “graciously flew in on a moment’s notice and graced the track with her angelic presence”. Referencing the 18-year-old who was shot by an officer in Ferguson, Missouri last August, leading to similar unrest, the song’s lyrics include the lines: “Does anybody hear us pray?/ For Michael Brown or Freddie Gray/ Peace is more than the absence of war.” Prince also sings: “Are we gonna see another bloody day?/We’re tired of cryin’ and people dyin’/ Let’s take all the guns away.” The Rally4Peace concert is scheduled to take place at Baltimore’s Royal Farms Arena. Kush Chronic-les: The Denver Police Would Like To Wish Each And Every Piff-Puffer A Happy 4/20

Denver Police Send Out “Happy 4/20″ Tweet Did you ever think you’d see the day? Via HuffingtonPost In what may go down as the coolest police tweet of all time, the Denver Police Department posted a message of tolerance for the “420” marijuana festivities taking place in the city over the weekend. Late Sunday afternoon, on the second and last day of a massive annual 4/20 marijuana rally at Denver’s Civic Center Park, Denver police tweeted this: In a single lighthearted tweet, the Denver police illustrate just how far the drug war has been rolled back in Colorado — which, in 2012, became the first state in the U.S. to legalize recreational marijuana — with a play on lyrics from Chamillionaire’s 2007 Grammy-winning song “Ridin’.” By any objective standard, that is a pretty cool way for a police department to send a message to the public. When The Huffington Post sent a tweet to the police department account asking about the song referenced, the department noted that “#PoliceLikeToJamToo.” Although private recreational marijuana use has been legalized in the state, public consumption of the drug is still illegal. However, it does still occur, especially at large events. Denver police generally make enforcement of that law on 4/20 a low priority and target only the most egregious offenders. Considering that an estimated 125,000 people attended the rally over the course of the weekend and that Denver police issued only approximately 160 total citations, it appears that police stuck to that strategy. The Associated Press reported Sunday that the police had seen no major issues throughout the weekend. Po po ain’t trippin’! Light it up!
