Walking with his head to avoid getting his picture taken, he plowed into a pole (holding a Wrong Way sign, amusingly enough), and it clearly didn’t feel good. Sources confirm to TMZ that the reality star became the latest celebrity to be pranked by morons who dialed 911 and claimed something was amiss at her home. In this case, they actually told an operator that husband Lamar Odom was shot by a friend. Police proceeded to converge on the scene with guns drawn… only to find the basketball player alone and unharmed. Authorities believe this is the same the group responsible for similar Swatting incidents over the last few months, targeting such stars as Diddy, Magic Johnson, Clint Eastwood, Rihanna and Chris Brown .
Taylor Swift is getting into the meme craze. And the online cat craze as well. The singer Tweeted a photo of her kitten this week, including with the shot of Meredith and a message that reads: “USE YOUR STOMACH AS A PILLOW.” “Found her sleeping like this,” Swift wrote. “No idea how she didn’t suffocate on her own fur.” The pet’s full moniker is Meredith Grey and, yes, she’s named after Ellen Pompeo’s Grey’s Anatomy character. Will this meme grow as viral as McKayla Maroney not being impressed by things or as popular as Clint Eastwood and his Eastwooding ? Probably not. But it’s very cute!
Israel Keyes’ handwritten notes, found under his body after the serial killer took his own life in an Alaska jail, have been released, according to the FBI. The agency said the handwritten notes from Keyes offer no clues about his heinous crimes, such as the names of additional victims, however. The notes were found on legal paper underneath Keyes, who slit his wrist December 2 with the blade of a disposable razor embedded in a pencil. He also had strangled himself with a bed sheet. Keyes’ writings were on a yellow legal pad, FBI special agent Mary Rook said in a statement, and were too bloody to read clearly, at least initially. They were sent to the FBI laboratory in Virginia and restored. The FBI determined Keyes left behind no code or hidden message in the writings, and officials would offer no commentary on the meaning of the writings. They include some disturbing poetry about violence and deception. “You may have been free, you loved living your lie, fate had its own scheme, crushed like a bug you still die,” the notes said, referring to … who knows. Israel Keyes, 34, was set for a March trial in federal court in the abduction and killing of Anchorage barista Samantha Koenig before he committed suicide.
Robin Sachs, a British actor best known to most American viewers for his role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer , passed away last Friday. He was 61 years old. Details on the death aren’t known at this time, but the BBC made it public this morning and included with the news a statement from Sachs’s ex-wife. Casey Defranco describes the man behind Buffy ‘s Ethan Rayne as “a wonderful person, extraordinarily talented as an actor.” Meanwhile, a note on Sachs’ official website reads: “Please join us in raising a glass to Robin – goodbye, dear friend. Thank you for all the laughter and the cookies. We will miss you so very much.” We send our best wishes to his loved ones.
Ashley Judd is considering a run for U.S. Senate , and the fact that it’s even crossed her mind is enough to draw fire from potential political opponents! Needless to say, American Crossroads is not a fan, and Judd would be an underdog IF she decided to try it. But it’s not as far-fetched as it sounds. He’s promoting his new flick and wasn’t holdin’ back on his frustrations with politics. According to the Daily Mail , Matt says he lost hope that the movie would even have some damn impact in Washington: ‘We’re at a point where politicians don’t really get any benefit from engaging with long-term issues,’ he said, according to Politico. ‘Instead, it’s all about the next election cycle. Those guys in the House don’t do anything now but run for office. So unless they can find some little thing that zips them up a couple of points in the polls, they’re not interested.’ Damon’s soured attitude toward the American political system has been a couple years in the making. He made headlines last year when he famously criticized Obama’s first term, even though Damon is a Democrat and supported Obama in 2008. ‘I’ve talked to a lot of people who worked for Obama at the grassroots level. One of them said to me, “Never again. I will never be fooled again by a politician,”‘ Damon said in 2011. ‘You know, a one-term president with some balls who actually got stuff done would have been, in the long run of the country, much better.’ But Damon told Playboy that he voted for Obama in November, despite his criticisms of the president. ‘I assume there will be some Supreme Court appointments in this next term; that alone was reason to vote for him,’ he said. Damon was also asked about Clint Eastwood’s performance at the Republican National Convention. ‘I heard the backlash, but I never saw the whole thing because I just didn’t want to see my friend … you know,’ he said. ‘Look, his knowledge of filmmaking is so vast and deep that he can wing it beautifully on the set. What he did at the RNC was an unrehearsed bit he decided to do at the last minute. You can’t go onstage and do 12 minutes of stand-up completely unrehearsed. But I agree with what Bill Maher said — Clint killed it at the convention for 12 minutes, and the audience loved him. I wouldn’t do that unless I spent a month rehearsing.’ Asked what politics were behind his new movie, he said, ‘We went to the studio saying, “Who f**king wants to go see an anti-fracking movie?” and were all in agreement. When we were working on the script, it was about wind farms, but we changed it to fracking — a good issue because the stakes are so high. That sh*t is real. They’re debating about letting it happen in New York now. To us, the movie was really about American identity.
