Kelis Reacts To Nas’ Life Is Good Album Cover

‘I can respect that he wears his feelings on his sleeve,’ Kelis says of cover featuring her green wedding dress. By Rob Markman Nas’ Life is Good album cover Photo: If you were expecting Kelis to scream “I hate you so much right now” after seeing ex-hubby Nas’ Life Is Good album cover, then you have the “Milkshake” singer all wrong. For the cover of his upcoming solo LP, Nas posed with Kelis’ green wedding dress, the only item she left behind when she and the Queens rapper split. “My feelings about it are not really relevant, but at the end of the day, Nas is an artist and for whatever it’s worth, he’s one of the greatest — especially for what it is that he does,” Kelis told NME.com about the album cover during an interview at the Isle of Wight Festival in England this past weekend. Nas first spoke on the significance of the dress when VH1 profiled the usually private MC on their “Behind the Music” special. “She took her stuff out of the house and left her green wedding dress. And that was all she left,” he said. “It clicked right there. You’re saying it even in your interview. It’s like a given that this should allude to this being on the cover, that statement,” Nas told MTV News on June 12. “Some things you can’t plan, they happen.” The veteran MC likened himself to an old blues musician, an endearing quality that his ex-wife appreciates. “I feel like, especially someone in hip-hop to really kinda be genuine and honest, whatever the honesty is about, I think it’s awesome,” she said. “My feelings about it aren’t really necessarily valid, it’s just the fact that as an artist, I can respect that he wears his feelings on his sleeve. I like that.” Life Is Good is due out July 17. What is your favorite Nas album cover? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Nas Kelis

Jenny McCarthy Bares All For Sixth Playboy Cover

Actress tells People her latest photos are ‘a lot more sophisticated.’ By Kara Warner Jenny McCarthy on the cover of Playboy magazine Photo: Actress/model/advocate Jenny McCarthy has once again set tongues wagging with her sixth appearance on the cover of Playboy. The blonde bombshell is featured on the cover of the July/August issue wearing nothing but some black knee-high tights and coordinating fingerless fishnet gloves. In addition to the cover photo, McCarthy appears in an eight-page photo spread inside the magazine, her seventh pictorial for Playboy. The 39-year-old told People magazine that this particular photo shoot was particularly special because of the classy factor. “I’m really proud of it,” McCarthy told the magazine. “The pictures are really gorgeous and classy. They could be out of W magazine. They’re really elegant. It’s probably a lot more sophisticated than a lot of the stuff you’d see of people with their clothes on.” McCarthy made her Playboy debut in 1993 as a centerfold and later went on to be named Playmate of the Month and Playmate of the Year. Shortly thereafter MTV enlisted McCarthy to co-host our popular ’90s dating show “Singled Out,” which officially put the model/personality on the pop culture map. Entertainment Weekly deemed McCarthy “the Vanna White for the MTV generation,” and praised her plucky, outspoken and signature touchy-feely hosting methods. McCarthy parlayed her fame into multiple roles in television series and film, including two of her own self-titled sitcoms, but in recent years has become more well-known for her work as an activist for autism awareness, on behalf of her own autistic son Evan and the challenges and preconceptions associated with parenting autistic children. McCarthy also made headlines from her four-year relationship with Jim Carrey.

The LP’s lead single, “Helicopter,” features 2 Chainz and Twista, and on June 26, Scrappy fans will finally get the album they’ve been asking for. Kristen Stewart And The ‘C’ Word: A Love Story

‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ star tells MTV News her favorite British slang is ‘a really good word.’ By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart Photo: MTV News We didn’t quite know what we were getting ourselves into when we asked Kristen Stewart to name her favorite British slang word. The actress spent a while perfecting her British accent in anticipation of “Snow White and the Huntsman,” and between that practice and her British boyfriend, Robert Pattinson, we were sure Stewart had learned a phrase or five that she was partial to. But we should have realized where she was headed when she told MTV News that she was being “way too honest here” during her Sneak Peek Week interview. That’s right: KStew’s favorite British word is “cu–.” She defended it, saying, “You go over there [to England], and it’s a very different effect. It’s fun. It’s good.” Sure, we would have gone with “arse” or “wicked” or “innit,” but we sort of get where Stewart was coming from in her preferential colloquialism. As her “Snow White” co-star Sam Claflin said, “[‘Cu–‘]’s become the new ‘mate.’ ” The conversation could have ended there, but Stewart added that her favorite way to use the “C” word is by adding an “-ing” to the end. “Add an ‘-ing’ to it — this is terrible — I heard some really down English crazy guy, on our crew actually, really angry, adding the ‘-ing,’ ” she explained. “It’s a really good word.” What about Claflin’s favorite American word? Apparently, that’s an easy question. “Aluminum. Garage. Trash,” he said with a laugh. “The list is endless.” Fortunately, you won’t hear the pair saying any of those words in “Snow White and the Huntsman,” which hit theaters Friday (June 1). But at least now we have a better idea of what Stewart and Pattinson are whispering in each other’s ears in all those paparazzi photos. Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now! The 21st annual MTV Movie Awards air live this Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET. Bam Margera Hospitalized After 100-Foot Kayak Jump

‘Jackass’ alum tweets a picture of himself from a hospital bed after hernia operation. By Terri Schwartz Bam Margera Photo: Frazer Harrison/ Getty Images Bam Margera is a daredevil on and offscreen. The “Jackass” alum took a 100-foot tandem kayak jump off a waterfall in Oregon with pro kayaker Steve Fisher Wednesday and lived to tell the tale. However, he did have to undergo a hernia operation Thursday as a result. Margera tweeted a picture from his hospital bed showing him a bit out of it and hooked up to medical machines but still giving a thumbs-up to show that he’s all right. Though he was originally supposed to appear at an art show in Pennsylvania on Friday night (June 1), the 32-year-old had to cancel his plans, tweeting , “Can’t make it to the show tonight, in hospital still. Phil, Ape & Boof will be there. Stop by if your in WC.” It’s unclear if Fisher was also injured in the fall, but we would guess that Margera would reference it if that was the case. Fisher also has a Twitter but hasn’t used it in years. This isn’t the first time Margera’s stunts have gotten him in trouble. Back in February, he was arrested after jumping into a pool fully clothed during Mardi Gras in New Orleans and refusing to get out. He ended up not getting a ticket because, according to him, the police didn’t know what to charge him with. “I was just swimming in a pool with all my clothes on, and I refused to get out,” he told E! Online . “No ticket. They just wanted to f— with me, drunk Mardi Gras nonsense.”

Mac Miller Knows He’s ‘Really Makin It’ Thanks To Krispy Kreme

Mac gives MTV News his take on ‘The Baddest,’ amateur rapper Krispy Kreme’s viral video that features a shout-out of sorts to the Pittsburgh MC. By Rob Markman Mac Miller Photo: MTV Internet sensations come and go, sometimes with no rhyme or reason. Though they may be elementary, rapper Krispy Kreme has rhymes; it’s the reasoning behind “The Baddest,” his viral video that has folks scratching their heads. The clip has amassed more than a million views on YouTube since the end of April. In it, Kreme raps in his basement, bragging of his street cred and sexual prowess, all while brandishing a fake pistol. His partner, Money Maker Mike, doesn’t say a word; instead he just stares into the camera, holding a pellet rifle, wearing a light blue Mac Miller T-shirt. When MTV News caught up with Mac Miller , we asked what he thought of the clip he makes a sort of cameo in. “I don’t know, but that sh– is hilarious though,” he said. “That’s my artist. Sike, I’m just playin’. “I don’t know if he’s serious or not, but the dude with the Mac Miller shirt on has the rifle from ‘A Christmas Story’ aimed at the camera all the time and that was tight,” Mac said hours before he performed at the Bamboozle Music Festival on May 18. Clearly a parody, a snot-nosed Kreme taunts, “I bet I got more money than Jay-Z/ Compared to me Jay-Z is lazy/ Plus Beyonc— thinks that I’m cute/ It’s OK, Beyonc—, I think you’re cute too.” Krispy’s second video , “Haters Wanna Be Me” features more of the same tomfoolery. “I been shot about 500 times and I’ve done about one million crimes,” he spits in a slow, amateur drawl. Once again Money Maker Mike appears in that same Mac Miller tee. “That type of sh– is cool to me because I’m like, ‘Man I’m really makin’ it when random big videos on YouTube, they’re wearing my clothes,” the Blue Slide Park MC said. “That’s hella promotion for my clothes.” What do you think of Kripsy Kreme’s “The Baddest” video? Miley Cyrus Says "Thanks for the Spanks, Y’all"

It’s hard to believe that it was less than two years ago when Miley Cyrus remained off limits, a prematurely ripe piece of forbidden fruit paraded in front of mankind’s collective eyeballs like a cruel inside joke between God and whoever invented age of consent laws. But it’s cool, guys. Miley’s like 19 now and has a nose ring and goes to events wearing a jacket from the Designing Women wardrobe closet with no shirt or pants. And she wants you to stare. Really, she does: “If people find that [I’m sexy], I take it as a compliment,” she says on Lifetime’s The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet . “Thank you for thinking I’m sexy!” See, in Miley’s mind acting out and dressing in an inappropriately mature fashion are not just a way to piss off her overbearing stage parents (yeah, we’re reading between the lines on that one, but c’mon), but also a feminist statement: “People are so scared of seeing a woman being like, ‘This is who I am and you’re not going to change it…for a woman to say that she can’t be tamed, and of all people in the world, my face saying I can’t be tamed, when that’s all people really wanted to do- I think that proves how sexist people still really are.” We’re definitely seeing an Alyssa Milano moment in Miley’s future.
