Florida Gov. Rick Scott Files Lawsuit To Block Votes From Being Counted

The rest is here:

F lorida Gov. Rick Scott is so shook by the possibility of every vote being counted in Florida he filed lawsuits on Sunday “calling for voting machines to be impounded in two Democratic-leaning counties, after accusing his opponents of voter fraud,” according to Vice.com . Sounds like more voter suppression in plain sight. See Also: Andrew Gillum Barely Loses Florida Governor Race By The Slimmest of Margins Vice.com reports, “Scott called on a judge to issue an emergency injunction requiring sheriffs in Broward and Palm Beach counties to impound all voting machines and ballots whenever they’re not being used in the recount — until the end of the recount and any legal action relating to the closely fought race.” Another lawsuit called for “any ballots counted after noon on Saturday to be disregarded, alleging that votes in Broward County were counted after the noon deadline.” How wildly undemocratic and, of course, President Donald Trump agrees. He tweeted this morning, “The Florida Election should be called in favor of Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis in that large numbers of new ballots showed up out of nowhere, and many ballots are missing or forged. An honest vote count is no longer possible-ballots massively infected. Must go with Election Night!” The Florida Election should be called in favor of Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis in that large numbers of new ballots showed up out of nowhere, and many ballots are missing or forged. An honest vote count is no longer possible-ballots massively infected. Must go with Election Night! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 12, 2018 Andrew Gillum  at first appeared to have lost Florida’s race for governor to Ron DeSantis . Gillum did concede, but that was a formality. However, now the apparent elusive victory win might still be within reach. On Saturday, Gillum recanted his concession. See his powerful speech below: As of now, Scott is only ahead of Democrat Bill Nelson by 12,000 votes for the Senate race. Watch Racist White Women Harass An Andrew Gillum Supporter: ‘Go Back To Africa!’

Continued here:

T here has been tons of talk about white women supporting sexist, hateful white men like Roy Moore  in Alabama and Donald Trump while Black women save elections. However, this shouldn’t be a shocker, white women did not vote for Obama at a majority in both of the presidential elections . In addition, 52 percent of white women voted for Donald “Grab ’em by the Pussy” Trump in 2016, even with a white woman candidate on the ballot. And so it followed that in the midterm elections on Tuesday, white women voted Republican at a majority in Texas, Georgia and of course Florida. White women: footsoldiers of the patriarchy. Brian Kemp: 76% Ted Cruz: 59% Ron DeSantis: 51% pic.twitter.com/1RTZlppkiZ — Mona Eltahawy (@monaeltahawy) November 7, 2018 Therefore, video footage of white women harassing a Gillum supporter on Friday should be no shocker. See Also: Andrew Gillum Barely Loses Florida Governor Race By The Slimmest of Margins In the two videos below, two racist women claimed a Black voter, who appears to be the one filming them, only voted for Gillum because he’s Black and “identity politics.” While hollering, they bond over their bigotry and start chanting “count our vote” in a stereotypical accent. One of them adds, “Go back to Africa!” These women are haranguing the only black person here, standing on a bench holding a Gillum shirt. “Because he’s black” pic.twitter.com/xgJ1qruoip — Djinn (@ARAEveryDay) November 9, 2018 Hours later, still mocking anyone black pic.twitter.com/Jtptk4GzB7 — Djinn (@ARAEveryDay) November 9, 2018 Hopefully, social media will do their magical job and expose these racists. In addition, we are hoping all the votes will be counted. DeSantis’s “victory” margin has shrunken to 0.47 percentage points, according to  The New York Times , . If it stays that was or decreases, there will be a recount. Broward County Elections Supervisor Brenda Snipes was reportedly sued by Florida Gov. Rick Scott ’s senate campaign and the National Republican Senatorial Committee for “incompetence” because she has not announced how many votes are left to count. If you haven’t already guessed, Broward County is predominately Democratic. Clearly, the Republicans are afraid of every vote being counted. Victory! 19 Black Women Made History In Texas

Read more from the original source:

W hile Democrats did not get the blue wave they hoped for during yesterday’s midterm elections, there were some major wins such as regaining control of the House of Representatives. However, there are 19 wins that not enough people are celebrating — 19 Black women who ran for judicial seats in Harris County, Texas won last night. This is the biggest victory for Black women in the county’s history. See Also: Bill Cosby Sentenced To 3 To 10 Years In Prison For Sexual Assault Conviction The women call themselves the #Houston19. Back in August , one wrote on Facebook, “I’ve waited for the reveal of this photo of 19 judicial candidates for several weeks — 19 Black women running for judge in Harris County, Houston, TX. This entire time I’ve thought of what I’d say the day we were able to share this moment in history with everyone. But really I’m humbled. Never did I imagine that the day I decided to run to be judge, I’d become a part of a club of phenomenal Black women, sisters-in-law, gifted, brilliant, strong — everything I hope to be!” See the beautiful photo below: Now they are officially winners. Sandra Peake, Judge Ramona Frankin, Germaine Tanner, Angela Graves-Harrington, Cassandra Hollerman, Tonya Jones, Dedra Davis, LaShawn A. Williams, Latosha Lewis Payne, Linda M. Dunson, Toria J. Finch, Erica Hughes, Lucia G. Bates, Ronnisha Bowman, Michelle Moore, Sharon Burney, Shannon Baldwin and Lori Chambers Gray were all elected, and mostly by double digits. A huge congratulations and a reason to celebrate last night. That said, we are still pushing for every vote in Georgia to be counted so the true victor of the gubernatorial contest can rise up—not the won who is claiming a win because of voter suppression. Staten Island Residents Attack Crew Filming Where Eric Garner Was Chocked To Death

The rest is here:

T here is currently a series being filmed on the killing of Eric Garner, titled “The Fifth Boro.” But production stopped this weekend when a handful of onlookers reportedly attacked the actors filming the chokehold death scene at the exact location where Garner was killed by police on July 17, 2014. See Also: Bill Cosby Sentenced To 3 To 10 Years In Prison For Sexual Assault Conviction According to The New York Daily News , James Russo , Anthony Mangano and Mark John Jefferies , best known for his roles in “Losing Isaiah” and “Get Rich or Die Tryin’,” were filming a scene on Thursday where the two white actors wrestle Jefferies to the ground. It was unclear if Jeffries plays Garner because the IMDB page for the film says he his role is a character named Drey. While filming, “a bottle came soaring onto the set, aimed at Jefferies, who said the projectile missed his feet by ‘about 8 inches.’” Jefferies told the New York Daily News, “They were just being ignorant and I don’t have time for that. We were literally about to roll and one of them threw a bottle in my direction.” Jefferies said he approached the person who threw the bottle and yelled, “If you don’t like it, you can get the F out of here.” Director Steve Stanulis, a former Staten Island cop, decided to no longer film at the location where Garner was killed. He also claimed, according to the New York Daily News, that he wasn’t aware that was the location where Garner was killed. Sounds like Stanulis and his team need to do some better research if they are recreating the controversial police killing and aren’t even aware they are at the location where he died. ‘Young Black Conservatives’ Chant ‘Build That Wall’ At Deplorable Sunken Place Summit

Link:

T he Sunken Place Summit was in full effect on Friday in Washington, D.C., and sadly it brought about a flock of Black people embracing white supremacy. In fact, the Young Black Leadership Summit was going beyond heir typical tap dancing for the president, with attendees literally chanting racist lines that are normally reserved for a Trump rally. See Also: President Donald Trump’s Voter Fraud Claims Could Lead To More Voter Suppression One young man, who live-streamed the summit on YouTube, was babbling into the camera with young people chanting, “Build that wall!” in the background. The young man said, “It’s Black excellence at its finest, to the highest degree.” More like anti-Blackness at its highest degree. See below, around the 7:50 mark. The same young man also told theGrio that “Our Black-owned businesses are turning into taco stands overnight because of illegal immigrants.” See the sadness: “Our Black-owned businesses are turning into taco stands overnight because of illegal immigrants.” – Trump supporter (Young Black Leadership Summit) pic.twitter.com/5HW7ezS1VP — theGrio.com (@theGrio) October 26, 2018 Trump clearly has convinced these young people to believe his lies. As Vox explained , “A 2016  study  conducted by scholars at Penn’s Wharton School of Business found that the increase in the labor supply resulting from immigration could actually generate more employment in industries such as home construction and food production. More people means more consumption, and, specifically, more consumption by the working poor.” In addition, “Existing data simply doesn’t support any definitive correlation between the stark unemployment rate of African Americans and the employment of recent immigrants. Nevertheless, those striving to push through xenophobic, racist, Islamophobic, and inhumane immigration restrictions find   unusual allies  among some African Americans seeking to lower the black unemployment rate.” The truth is, it is gentrification that is hurting Black business, which has nothing to do with immigration. The Young Black Leadership Summit is the fraudulent brainchild of  Candace Owens , who was anti-Trump two years ago. Pray for these lost souls. A Lil’ Positivity: Houston Father Confronts His Son’s School Bully, But Decided To Shower Him With Kindness

(Photo by Mario Tama/Getty Images) A Houston Father Uses Kindness To Combat His Son’s Bully   A Houston father took a unique and unconventional approach in helping his son deal with a bully. Aubrey Fontenot decided to sit down and have a heart-to-heart conversation with a young man that had been allegedly bullying his 8 year old son at school after the school failed to step in and do something about the situation. After a short talk, he learned the reason as to why the young man was lashing out. “I came with the energy that he was ready to receive,” Fontenot said. “Because a lot of times, just because you want to talk to me doesn’t mean I want to talk to you. But I think he just wanted, he was ready to talk to me. He knew that I cared. He saw it in my eyes.”

Hoopz to Farrah Abraham: Im’ma Knock You the F–k Out!

You know how Teen Mom villain Farrah Abraham is trying to be a celebrity boxer now? Well, she’s going to fight fellow reality television personality Nicole “Hoopz” Alexander. And Nicole is promising that, when she’s face to face with Farrah, she won’t pull any punches — literally. On Wednesday, Nicole “Hoopz” Alexander spoke to Detroit’s WJLB radio station, and as The Ashley notes, promised that she won’t hold back. “I’m gonna get in there and fight for real,” she promises of her November 10 fight with Farrah. “She’s an opponent,” Nicole reasons. They may be doing this for entertainment, but it’s not a tickle fight. “The people are coming out to see a fight,” Nicole says. And she plans to give it to them. Nicole also talks about why fans should believe that she’s looking forward to blowing off some steam. “At the end of the day, we walk around as celebrities,” she explains. The go on television to play roles “and we can’t touch anybody [on the shows we’re on].” It sounds like this experience could be as cathartic for Nicole as it will be for the countless people who hate Farrah. “So you’re giving me an opportunity to get in the ring and I can actually take something out on somebody else?!” Nicole says. “How am I gonna get in there and half-ass something?” Nicole asks. That is a very fair point. “[On reality shows] I didn’t [fight],” she explains. Nicole says that the reason for that was “because there’s a clause [in your contract that says] you cant put your hands on nobody.” That is a very sensible clause for any reality show. But in the ring, when the literal gloves go on, the figurative gloves come off. Nicole is very aware of Farrah’s ridiculous training efforts. “She’s training as hard as she can train,” Nicole says charitably. Nicole then gets a little less charitable as she suggests that she is more than qualified to knock Farrah into next week. “I’m probably over-training,” Nicole admits. You know how Farrah has been going to the gym half-naked as part of her “training” program? Nicole is all-too aware of it. “I feel like she’s going to not even have a sports bra on,” Nicole jokes about their upcoming fight. Nicole says: “She’s been training half naked.” In fact, Farrah worked out in lingerie on a camgirl site … and auctioned off the underwear she was wearing for cash afterwards. To be clear, she’s not shaming Farrah for taking off her clothes. As you can see above, Nicole has posed in lingerie before. She just knows how to separate stripping down from gearing up for a fight. Nicole even jokes that Farrah may just strip naked for their fight in November. Which, to be fair, would absolutely fit Farrah’s brand. “She may come out in some nothingness,” Nicole suggests. That would be quite something. But Nicole suggests that it’s fine if she does. “It don’t matter,” Nicole says confidently. “That’s how she’s gonna fall asleep.” Dang. Those are fighting words. Literally. View Slideshow: Farrah Abraham Announces New Career Plan: I’m Gonna Work Out in Lingerie For Camgirl Ca$h!

Political Outlet ‘The Hill’ Doesn’t Know The Difference Between Susan Rice And Condoleezza Rice

Read more here:

Y ep, all Black folks look alike according to media sources from  Fox News to The Hill. The Hill, a popular political outlet since 1994, covered Susan Rice , Obama’s former National Security Advisor, who is considering running against Maine GOP Sen. Susan Collins for the U.S. Senate. Collins voted for  Brett Kavanaugh  on the Supreme Court and has received tons of backlash because she is a woman who voted against a woman who was sexually assaulted. While covering the story, The Hill used a photo of Condoleezza Rice , who was Secretary of State under President  George W. Bush . For real?? @thehill pic.twitter.com/lnyFdApAf0 — Michael Eaves (@michaeleaves) October 8, 2018 The image has already been changed on their article . However, Twitter is having a field day with this. One user wrote , “somebody googled ‘Black Rice’ Condeleeza’s picture came up.” Another tweeted , “Don’t they have fact checkers, or editors, or I dunno, any Black people on staff over there?” Maybe this will further inspire Susan Rice to run against Collins. In case you missed it, Obama’s former White House Communications Director Jen Psaki tweeted, “who wants to run for Senate in Maine? there will be an army of supporters with you.” Rice replied, “Me.” Me https://t.co/93qNxN7Ky9 — Susan Rice (@AmbassadorRice) October 5, 2018 Don’t get too excited. According to ABC News , Rice spoke at a panel during The New Yorker Festival and said, “I made the tweet, I later elaborated that this wasn’t where my head was.” She continued, “But I have been moved by the enthusiasm. I’m going to give it due consideration after the midterms.” Nonetheless, The Hill, Fox News and everyone else who think all Black folks look alike need to do better. Jemele Hill Tells Nothing But The Truth About Being Labeled Black and Political In First Interview Since Leaving ESPN

J emele Hill and Michael Smith made history at ESPN by being the first all-Black anchor team on “SportsCenter” in February 2017. They both have left ESPN and now Hill has sat down for her first interview since the departure—and she drops some truths about how they were treated at the network. See Also: President Donald Trump’s Voter Fraud Claims Could Lead To More Voter Suppression In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter , the 42-year-old says they were labeled political simply because they were Black and way before she made any comments about Trump. Hill explained, “Mike (Smith) and I specifically were called political, way before any of the Trump stuff ever happened and I always thought that was a very interesting label, because frankly, I think that most of the time it was said because we were the two Black people.” She continued, “It wasn’t our fault that Chance the Rapper decided to wear a Colin Kaepernick T-shirt and say that he wasn’t supporting the NFL. We didn’t have him on the show for that. We had him on the show to talk about him being in Vegas for Mayweather-McGregor. But because you have the two Black people that are outspoken, with another outspoken Black artist, suddenly the show is too political.” Thankfully, ESPN is in her rear view mirror because big things have already come her way. She will narrate the LeBron James basketball documentary  Shut Up and Dribble , which airs in November on Showtime. She is now a staff writer for The Atlantic and is developing a TV series with Gabrielle Union, which is loosely based on her relationship with her best friend of 20 years. Hill explained to  The Hollywood Reporter , “The best way I can describe it, it’s as if Molly and Issa from ‘Insecure’ had grown up. Imagine those two characters as fully-grown, accomplished women of color.” Huge congrats to Jemele Hill!
