Image via Getty Trump Pardons Criminally Convicted Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio If you thought that Donald Trump’s campaign dog-whistles were telling, if you thought his comments about Charlottesville were morally reprehensible, then the burnt sienna POTUS’ first use of Presidential pardon power will undoubted inform you that he is perfectly comfortable pushing a racist agenda of hatred toward minorities. Late last night, while the nation was locked into category 4 hurricane Harvey, Donald tried to slide something slick and slimy. He pardoned Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio of his recent conviction for criminal contempt in a racial profiling case according to CNN . Arpaio has long-been an outspoken proponent of immigration reform and has self-admittedly run a “concentration camp” style prison where inmates died on the REGULAR. Sheriff Joe’s conviction was based on the fact that he was racially profiling hispanic and latinx peoples in order to check their immigration status for possibly deportation. A word from the White House: “Throughout his time as sheriff, Arpaio continued his life’s work of protecting the public from the scourges of crime and illegal immigration,” the statement read. “Sheriff Joe Arpaio is now 85 years old, and after more than 50 years of admirable service to our nation, he is (a) worthy candidate for a Presidential pardon.” Joe Arpaio is also a rabid Trump sycophant and boot-licker. Investigation Launched Into Strippers At South African Prison Looks like the corrections system is a LOT different overseas. For one, it seems they get the occasional perks …like shake-dancers on the yard, for instance. Photos have gone viral depicting several prisoners in a South African prison getting booty butt cheeks rubbed all over them while having recess. Thing is, the correctional facility in question apparently holds some of the worst offenders and most hardened criminals in South Africa. James Smalberger, the national commissioner of the Department of Correctional Services, admitted that the inmates do indeed get a celebration around this time of year…but professional booty-clappers were NOT a part of the agreement. Via CNN : “The pictures taken were of an event hosted in line with June Youth Month celebrations on the 21st of June, but the form of entertainment as depicted on social media was not approved and not in line with Correctional Services policies and procedures.” He assured that a full investigation was underway to figure out just whose bright idea it was to let the ladies deal dances on the prison yard. BREAKING NEWS: Judge Declares A Mistrial In Bill Cosby’s Criminal Sexual Assault Trial

Image via Getty/Gilbert Carrasquillo/WireImage Mistrial Declared In Bill Cosby’s Sexual Assault Trial A few days ago we reported that Bill Cosby might walk away from his sexual assault trial, as a free man due to a deadlocked jury. Today, that is exactly what happened. CNN is reporting that Cosby, who has been accused by over 50 other women for drugging and sexual assault, will not be convicted in his criminal case with Andrea Constand. Judge Steven O’Neill declared a mistrial today after the jury again failed to reach a verdict. It should be noted that the 12 jurors consisted of 7 women and 5 men. Upon leaving the court on Friday, Cosby seemed jovial, like a man who knew he wasn’t going to prison: “I just want to wish all of the fathers a Happy Father’s Day and I want to thank all of the jury for their long days, their honest work individually,” Cosby said. He said, “I also want to thank the supporters who’ve been here and please to the supporters, stay calm, do not argue with people, just keep up the great support. Thank you all. Thank you.” Today, Constand’s attorney, Gloria Allred, spoke from in front of the courthouse and spoke directly to Cosby saying: “It’s too early to celebrate, Mr. Cosby. Round 2 could be right around the corner…” Sounds like this isn’t the last we will hear of this case.

Demi Lovato Throws All the Shade at Kathy Griffin

Sorry, Kathy Griffin. But Demi Lovato is not sorry. Nor is she having any part of your lame press conference. On Friday afternoon, Griffin sat alongside her attorney and whined about the way Donald Trump and his family have treated her over the past few days. Both the President, his kids and his wife have had some choice words for the comedian after she posed for a photo shoot during which she held a bloody, decapitated head of the Commander-in-Chief. Both Donald and Melania Trump called out Griffin for traumatizing their 11-year old son with this pictorial, while those from both sides of the aisle have also slammed Griffin. In her press conference yesterday, Griffin accused Trump and his family members of “bullying” her and “trying to ruin my life forever, telling reporters: “I don’t think I will have a career after this. I think he … I’m going to be honest, he broke me. He broke me, and then I was like, ‘No, this isn’t right.'” Griffin may be right about the whole career-ending thing. She has lost one sponsorship deal and been fired by CNN . But nearly everyone thinks she deserves it, considering the inappropriate, offensive, ridiculous nature of her actions here. (Everyone except Jim Carrey, that is, who has stood up for Griffin .) “There’s a bunch of old white guys trying to silence me, and I’m just hear to say that’s wrong,” Griffin said on Friday, adding: “You don’t have to like me, but you shouldn’t silence a comic.” This is a strange line of defense, in our opinion. FIRST, you need to be funny in order to be a comedian, don’t you? So Griffin doesn’t really fit the description. SECOND, why would comedians be free to say and do whatever they want? THIRD, no one is silencing Griffin. She may utter anything she likes and pose for any photos she wants. But, like anyone else, she also prepare for consequences as a result. And that’s where Lovato comes in. Someone who has often spoken out against bullying, the singer clearly is angry that Griffin is trying to play the victim card. She effed up. She has apologized and claims to know she effed up … so what the heck is Kathy talking about?!? “I find it funny when bullies play the victims,” Lovato Tweeted shortly after Griffin’s press conference, adding: “Oops. I spilled my tea.” Point. Game. Match, Demi Lovato, right? It’s hard to find fault with her simple message and logic here. This isn’t the first time Lovato and Griffin had a spat on social media, either. In March of 2014, the stars feuded on Twitter after Griffin was asked to call out the “biggest douche celebrity,” responding at the time: Will Griffin call another press conference next week to yell at Lovato? Or will she maybe come to the realization that she should shut the heck up? And that she’s only digging her grave deeper and deeper? And that she’s just flat out wrong in this case and is only helping the other political side by using her platform in this manner? Seriously, Katrhy Griffin. Zip it.

It’s been almost three months since Kylie Jenner and Tyga broke up  for the 47th and final time, and it seems that Kylizzle is having no trouble leaving her Z-list ex in the past. According to various sources, Kylie is dating Travis Scott these days and the couple is reportedly moving at breakneck speed. But Kylie is still a member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, which means she’s comprised of roughly 85-90% pettiness. So when the opportunity to remind an ex of what he’s missing out on arises, you better believe Kylie’s gonna take it. That’s a photo from Kylie’s latest ad campaign for her famous, eponymous lip kits . Words fail us at times like these, so we’ll simply quote America’s current poet laureate Kendrick Lamar, who once remarked, “Damn.” Racy Kylie Jenner selfies are pretty much a daily occurrence on Instagram, but this is some next-level sh-t. Not only is a lot of skin even by Kylie standards, what we’re looking at her is no mere selfie. For starters, it’s the work of a professional photographer, which means a lot more thought went into than the typical ‘Gram post. On top of that, it’s intended to promote Kylie’s lip kits, and we can’t help but notice that lips aren’t really the focal point here. The whole thing has led many fans to the conclusion that the photo was inspired more by a desire to torture T-Raww than a need to promote Kylie’s already wildly popular cosmetics. Kylie emulates her older sisters in many ways, and she’s likely learned a lot by Kourtney Kardashians subtle acts of revenge against Scott Disick. After years of being used, neglected, and manipulated by the Lord, Kourtney decided to launch psychological warfare with unusually risque selfies as her only weapon. Which means Scott loses and the rest of the world wins. So is Kylie taking a page from her older sister’s playbook here? We may never know. All we can do is hope she sticks with this tactic. Kathy Griffin: Donald Trump is Ruining My Life!

A few days ago, as you've surely heard by now, Kathy Griffin released some images from a photo shoot she did with Tyler Shields. In the most scandalous photos, Kathy was holding a model of what looked like Donald Trump's bloody decapitated head . It did not go over well. In one fell swoop, she managed to piss off the entire internet — and she even deeply disturbed Trump and his family. She was fired from a few gigs , dragged all to hell in the media, both traditional and social … it was bad. And though she released a video apologizing for the photo shortly after it was published, today she did a press conference addressing the ongoing controversy. In the conference, which Kathy did alongside her lawyer, she was very emotional, and at one point, she even broke down. “I don't think I will have a career after this,” she said. “I think he … I'm going to be honest, he broke me. He broke me, and then I was like, 'No, this isn't right.'” She said that she was sincere in her original apology, but that she feels that Trump and his team are trying to turn the controversy into a distraction . About her CNN firing, she said it was “sad” and “hurtful.” “There's a bunch of old white guys trying to silence me, and I'm just hear to say that's wrong,” she continued. “You don't have to like me, but you shouldn't silence a comic.” She also pointed out how strange it is that the President of the United States is going after, in her words, “D-list comedian Kathy Griffin.” As she said in her apology, she did cross a line with the photo, but she still feels like the backlash is extreme. After all, she's hardly the first famous person to criticize Trump in such a brutal way , but she's the first to get destroyed over it. Check out the press conference in the video below:

Chris Cornell Dies; Lead Soundgarden Singer Was 52

Chris Cornell, a musician who rose to fame as the lead singer of Soundgarden before taking on the same role for Audioslave, died Wednesday night in Detroit. He was 52 years old. Brian Bumbery, a rep for the artist, has confirmed this sad piece of news to the Associated Press and other outlets. Via a statement to CNN, Bumbery says that Cornell was performing in The Motor City with Soundgarden, which had embarked on a domestic tour in April, when he passed away. He referred to the death as “sudden and unexpected,” saying in full: “His wife Vicky and family were shocked to learn of his sudden and unexpected passing, and they will be working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause. “They would like to thank his fans for their continuous love and loyalty and ask that their privacy be respected at this time.” Cornell had just taken the stage on Wednesday evening at the Fox Theater in Detroit. Soundgarden was among the most prominent bands in the grunge music scene that dominated the 1990s. The band’s hits included “Spoonman,” ”Fell on Black Days,” ”Black Hole Sun,” “My Wave” and “The Day I Tried to Live.” Cornell started his career in Seattle back in 1984 when he helped form the popular group. We will need to await an autopsy before learning the cause of death, but Cornell was open through the years about his struggle with alcohol abuse and those close to him who died from a similar addiction. “I’ve lost a lot of young, brilliant friends, people that I thought were very inspired,” he told Rolling Stone in 2015, adding: “They’re all young and these guys all had limitless potential in their lives in front of them.” It’s true: With his passing, Cornell joins a long line of lead grunge rock singers who died at a young age. To wit: – Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain was found dead in his Seattle home in 1994 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. – Alice in Chains’ original frontman, Layne Staley, died from a drug overdose in 2002. – Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots passed away of an accidental overdose in 2015. Soundgarden won two Grammy Awards in 1995. The track “Black Hole Sun” took home the Grammy for best hard rock performance, while the song “Spoonman” won for best metal performance that year. After the band broke up in 1997, Cornell performed solo for a few years prior to forming Audioslave. That super group included former Rage Against the Machine members Tom Morello, Brad Wilk and Tim Commerford, and had a successful run in its own right. Soundgarden reunited in 2012 and released the band’s sixth studio album, “King Animal.” Wrote musician Dave Navarro upon learning Cornell had died: “SO SO stunned to hear about Chris Cornell! Such a terrible and sad loss! Thinking of his family tonight! RIP.” We, like so many fans, share the same sentiment.
