Beyonce Paid $2 Million To Perform For Muammar Gaddafi’s Son In Skimpy Fit [Video]

Beyonce has been criticised for performing a private concert for Libyan dictator Colonel Gaddafi’s son. The 28-year-old beauty has been criticised after reports that she spent New Year’s Eve performing at a party hosted by Colonel Muammar Gaddafi’s son Moutassim. The event allegedly took place at nightclub Nikki Beach on the island of St Barts in the Caribbean and it is claimed she was paid $2million for entertaining the likes of Usher, Lindsay Lohan and Gaddafi Jr. Marc Lamont Hill, a Columbia University media professor, said on CNN: “Beyonce’s handlers usually make really good decisions about where she’s going to perform… ‘So it seems to me that someone was asleep at the wheel, or the money was so overwhelming that they said: ‘Screw the public image, we’re going to take the cash.’”

Len Lesser, ‘Seinfeld’ Actor, Dies At 88

Actor who played Uncle Leo was also on ‘Everybody Loves Raymond.’ By Terri Schwartz Len Lesser in 2001 Photo: Jason Kirk/ Getty Images Actor Len Lesser, best known for his “Seinfeld” role as good-natured, cantankerous Uncle Leo, passed away Wednesday morning in Burbank, California, from cancer-related pneumonia. He was 88. Reuters reported that Lesser was admitted to a rehabilitation center near his home several weeks ago. His family said he died in his sleep after breakfast and told CNN that his passing was “very peaceful.” “Heaven got a great comedian and actor today,” daughter Michele Lesser told the New York Daily News . “The outpouring of sympathy we’ve already received has been amazing and is so greatly appreciated. Thank you to all the people who helped make my father’s last journey special and surrounded with love.” The veteran actor appeared in only 15 episodes of “Seinfeld,” but made a memorable mark as the cheapskate uncle best known for saying “Jerry! Hello!” whenever he saw his nephew. Lesser also had a running appearance on “Everybody Loves Raymond” as Garvin, a friend of Raymond’s father who always lifted his arms in excitement when he saw the title character in a reference back to his stint on “Seinfeld.” In addition to his long television career as a bit actor, Lesser also served in the army during World War II and worked in film alongside Hollywood heavyweights like Clint Eastwood, Steve McQueen, Lee Marvin, Dustin Hoffman, Barbara Streisand and Donald Sutherland. F*ck A Thug: Obama Demands The Round Up Of The Goons Who Brutally Attacked Lara Logan

More info on this unfortunate story : The White House yesterday demanded the Egyptian government round up and bring to justice the thugs who brutalized CBS foreign correspondent Lara Logan in Cairo’s main square. “We believe that those responsible for these acts need to be held accountable,” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said of the prolonged beating and sexual assault on Logan by members of a 200-strong mob. And a State Department spokeswoman said the United States expects an “investigation and accountability for anyone involved in violence during the demonstrations.””We’ve raised it publicly and privately,” spokeswoman Leslie Phillips said. The call for justice came as a concerned President Obama phoned the recuperating “60 Minutes” reporter. “The president called her at her home around midday,” a Logan family friend told The Post. Obama asked the veteran war reporter about her condition and expressed his concern, the friend said. In New York, a spokeswoman for the Egyptian Mission decried the attack and said the turmoil-wracked Arab state would investigate all attacks on journalists covering demonstrations before and after the fall of Hosni Mubarak last Friday. “What happened to Miss Logan is by all means unacceptable and shameful,” said spokeswoman Nihal Saad. Yesterday, Logan, 39, was home in Washington with her husband, Joseph Burkett, and two children. A deliveryman brought flowers to the couple’s fieldstone-and-brick Tudor-style home. Inside, Logan also huddled with a senior colleague and pal, Kelli Halyard, head of CBS communications. Halyard said neither Logan nor Burkett was ready to talk publicly. Friends said she wants to return to work, but won’t be coming back anytime soon after suffering what the network called “serious” internal injuries in the ugly Feb. 11 incident, which CBS revealed Tuesday. “She has no idea how long this is going to take,” a source said. Logan and her crew were near Tahrir Square Friday, the day Egyptian strongman Mubarak stepped down, when a mob of jeering, leering men surrounded them. Their cameras continued rolling, capturing a tense-looking Logan trying to move away before she was grabbed and dragged off. “She was surrounded and suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers,” CBS said in a statement. “She reconnected with the CBS team, returned to her hotel and returned to the United States on the first flight the next morning,” the network added. A CBS colleague told The Post, “Every day is a struggle [for her].” Meanwhile, left-wing journalist Nir Rosen resigned as a fellow at New York University in the wake of Twitter comments he made belittling Logan after learning of the attack. “Jesus Christ, at a moment when she is going to become a martyr and glorified we should at least remember her role as a major war monger,” Rosen tweeted Monday. In an e-mail exchange with The Post, Rosen apologized. “It is never OK for a man to mock the sexual abuse or humiliation of women,” he said. “If I saw her I would try to find a way to apologize.” A native of South Africa, Logan has been CBS’s chief foreign correspondent since 2006 and has regularly filed reports from Iraq, Afghanistan and other hot spots for “60 Minutes” and the “CBS Evening News.” The nightmarish attack occurred a week after she was detained by Egyptian police amid tensions over foreign coverage of the revolution. As part of the anti-media backlash, CNN’s Anderson Cooper had been beaten up and ABC correspondent Brian Hartman threatened with beheading. In Bahrain today, ABC News reporter Miguel Marquez was beaten during a military crackdown on deadly protests. Logan had taken precautions, bringing security with her, after her earlier troubles, “but it wasn’t enough,” a network source told The Post. We wish her a speedy recovery and hope those goons suffer… Source

Jesus Take The Wheel: CBS News War Reporter Attacked And Sexually Assaulted In Cairo

SMH: CBS News war correspondent Lara Logan endured a “brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating” while covering the jubilation in Egypt last week following the resignation of President Hosni Mubarak, the network said today. In a statement, CBS said Logan was on assignment for “60 Minutes” while covering the festive atmosphere last Friday in Cairo’s Tahrir Square when “her team and their security were surrounded by a dangerous element amidst the celebration. It was a mob of more than 200 people whipped into frenzy.” During the chaos, Logan, 39, became “separated from her crew” and “suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers.” The separation and assault lasted for roughly 20 to 30 minutes, said a person familiar with the matter, who added that it was “not a rape.” The network said Logan returned to the US on the first flight the following day. “She is currently in the hospital recovering,” CBS said, without elaborating. “There will be no further comment from CBS News and Correspondent Logan and her family respectfully request privacy at this time.” Logan is one of nearly 140 news correspondents who have been injured or killed since Jan. 30 while covering the political unrest in Egypt, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists. Logan, a native of South Africa, has been CBS’s chief foreign correspondent since 2006. She has regularly filed reports from war zones such as Iraq and Afghanistan for “60 MInutes” and the “CBS Evening News.” Before joining CBS News in 2002, Logan had 14 years of journalism experience, including 10 years in the international broadcast news. She served as a correspondent for GMTV, the morning news program of Great Britain’s ITV. She had also worked as a freelancer for CBS Radio and CNN. Logan also received an Emmy Award, an Overseas Press Club Award and a Murrow Award for “Ramadi: On the Front Line,” a 2006 report on US soldiers who came under fire in Ramadi, Iraq. Source

IT’S OFFICIAL!!! Hosni Mubarak Steps Down And Concedes All Presidential Power!

Bout damn time! Don’t let the doorknob hit ya where the good Lord split ya! Cairo, Egypt (CNN) — Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak stepped down Friday and handed over power to the military, his nearly three decades of iron rule ended by a groundswell of popular protests that began January 25. In a somber, one-minute announcement on state television, Vice President Omar Suleiman announced Mubarak’s resignation and said the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces will “run the affairs of the country.” As Suleiman spoke, deafening cheers erupted among tens of thousands of Egyptians who thronged the streets of Cairo. It was a moment they had sought throughout long, often tense days of demonstrations — some of them violent — that demanded Mubarak’s departure. It was also a moment that many in the Arab world’s powerhouse nation had not dared contemplate. Chants of “Egypt is free!” and “God is great!” rose from the crowds, dizzy in the honeymoon of their success. Some waved Egyptian flags; others honked horns; still others set off fireworks as they savored the scene. Two major bridges over the Nile River resembled congested parking lots, and partiers packed streets throughout Cairo. The state-run Middle East News Agency said some people had passed out from joy and others had suffered heart attacks. “It was a sense of liberation for me, for every Egyptian,” said opposition leader Mohamed ElBaradei. “For the first time, Egypt has a chance to be democratic, to be free, to have a sense of dignity, of freedom. So it’s amazing. It’s just like something we never experienced in our lifetime.” Hopefully the Egyptian people get an opportunity to choose the kind of government they want to rule the country now. Officials Concerned Over Justin Bieber Movie Never Say Never

He is everywhere. In the last month, pop sensation Justin Bieber has graced every part of American media in what can only be called saturation. He has been on Jay Leno, David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, Regis, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, MTV, Vanity Fair, People, Us Weekly, CSI, the Super Bowl, The Today Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Lopez Tonight, the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards, Extreme Makeover, and others. Bieber just ended his 86 show world tour before Christmas and is scheduled to pick up again in March in Europe. He wins every award he is nominated for and has merchandise ranging from posters, calendars, headphones, nail polish, dolls, and other trinkets. His album and book sales are in the tens of millions. So what’s there to worry about? Seems everything is going great for Bieber. That just might be the problem. Movie theater owners around the country have been quietly ramping up for Friday’s release of Bieber’s “Never Say Never 3D”. And they are starting to panic. They have done the math and realize they only have so many theaters, seats, and tickets – in other words, “There are only a certain number of movie goers we can move through the system in a 24 hour period.” And that, my friends, seems to be the problem. Why? Because thousands of crazed Bieber fans are expected to swarm theaters and malls this weekend for their chance to see the megastar in 3D. Officials fear that malls and theaters around the country will be flooded with Bieber fans and that traffic and crowd control will become a problem. There is concern that fans will grow impatient and descend into various acts of civil unrest and disobedience. Factor in the fact that each screaming 13-year-old also has her mother with her, and… well that is an angry crowd I would try to avoid at all costs. Officials are discussing what to do about port-a-potties, extra security, aid stations, accidents, traffic control, fire rescue, wreckers and towing, media stations, reporters, satellite trucks, and the list goes on. Some major cities are expecting weeks of problems before things start to get better. Really? Is it possible? Could the United States be forced into weeks of anarchy and chaos just because millions of Justin Bieber fans can’t get tickets to see his movie? All we can pray for is that we will look our fellow man in the eye, and show the compassion and constraint that have held this country together through some if its darkest times. If CNN starts to report on mobs on angry, disobedient teens at thousands of theaters in all 50 states, and if FOX News starts comparing Bieber’s hold on his fans to the control of Hitler on Nazi Germany, if the Center for Disease Control declares Bieber Fever a pandemic, then life as we know it may have changed forever. We may never recover. Bieber’s hold on the world may just be too great. We may just have to fall to our knees and admit…. that the kid has unbelievable talent and deserves to be a star.
