Kim Kardashian is suing mad. The large-breasted professional celebrity has filed a lawsuit against Old Navy in which she claims the company intentionally duped the public with a lookalike (who may be dating Kim’s ex !) in one of its commercials. Melissa Molinaro Old Navy Commercial Making Kardashian especially irate? In an effort to boost publicity, Old Navy has been Tweeting to her account, referencing the similar-looking model. And we all know that NOTHING is more sacred to Kim Kardashian than her Twitter account. The reality star is reportedly suing for at least $15 million, claiming the ad cost her that amount in damages. How? That’s more confounding than the reason for Kim’s fame.
Part of the reason Paris Hilton returned to reality TV in The World According to Paris was to show the world she’s all grown up and mature now. Getting up and walking away during an interview on Good Morning America today when questions got tough didn’t exactly project that image. ABC correspondent Dan Harris asked about her show’s abysmal ratings and ho-tel heiress’ declining relevance in an ever-saturated sea of reality stars. DMX, rapper and celebrity mug shot all-star team captain, is a free man once again after being released from an Arizona prison earlier today. He told All Hip Hop outside the slammer, “I’m feeling good … feeling really good.” He then departed to see the wife and kid. You know how it is. Somehow, last week’s drug-smuggling bust and other infractions only pushed back his release by a few days. Place must be really overcrowded. In any case, X is a free man now. With little money to her name, several lawsuits pending and a vitriolic public still calling for justice, Casey Anthony may have been better off in jail . So where is Casey Anthony ? Completely MIA since her early Sunday release from the Florida jail where she resided for three years, that’s where. Her attorneys wisely won’t reveal her location or plans, but their calls to respect the verdict and leave Casey alone have largely gone unheeded. Casey Anthony Heckled Outside Jail The accused child killer could be in hiding in Carlsbad, Calif., near San Diego, according to a nwq report this morning on NBC’s Today show. Tracking the ownership of the Pilatus PC-12 private jet that whisked Anthony out of Orlando Sunday morning, NBC pointed to California attorney Todd Macaluso, who at one point had been a member of Casey’s defense team. Macaluso reportedly had given her $70,000. Macaluso’s firm maintains an office at the Palomar Airport in Carlsbad, with a private plane available to the firm anytime on very short notice. There are also reports that Macaluso left Anthony’s defense team early last year after running into trouble with the California Bar Association. The plane carrying Casey Anthony is believed to have taken a circuitous route before landing at John Wayne Airport, in Orange County, Calif. The Phoenix Fox TV station KSAZ reports that one of the stops could have been Prescott, Ariz., which is also a possible destination or Casey. NBC also says the IRS has placed a tax lien against Anthony, and that one of her moneymaking plans might be a pay-per-view TV interview. Anthony was ridiculed by hecklers as she walked free this weekend. We can only imagine the uproar if she charges foir a television sit-down.
Most people disagree with the jury’s verdict and think Casey Anthony should still be behind bars. For her own safety and stability, maybe she should be. The 25-year-old may be a free woman, but feels anything but, given the psychological trauma she’s already suffered and the challenges she faces now. “Her life is going to be very difficult for a very long time,” attorney Cheney Mason said Monday regarding his client, whose whereabouts are unknown. But her lawyer says the hounding from the public, which has reacted with nothing short of vitriol since her July 5 acquittal, is only part of her troubles. Casey hasn’t gotten over the loss of Caylee, “and probably never will,” Mason said, to say noting of her being “locked up in a cage” for three years. While convicted of four counts of lying to officials, Casey had been in jail for nearly 1,000 days, or close to what would have been a full sentence. She was therefore set free, but not of the demons internally. “This is very psychologically expensive for a human being, and she will take a while to adjust,” Mason said, adding that “a lot of plans had to be made” to keep her whereabouts a secret amid constant death threats . “She’s gone,” was all he would say. “She’s safe.”
Recovering comedian Artie Lange said he would give anything to get his job back on the Howard Stern Show. He has not, however, asked Howard about it. Lange left the show in early 2010 after a sudden hospitalization. He later went to rehab to get his alcoholism under control, but is reportedly better now. Stern discussed Artie this morning, saying Lange’s comments “stirred up a whole bunch of conversation that I don’t even know how to begin to address.” Asked if Artie ever personally approached Howard to ask for his job back, Howard replied, “No, but I think he would if he could get a hold of me.” As for Artie’s possible return to radio with a new show , Howard said, “Of course I support it. I think it would be great. I’d like to listen to Artie.” Howard, whose show Lange was a fixture on for years, added, “I’m glad to hear he’s feeling better … I’m pulling for him. I hope he does okay.”
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the new box office champion. It broke pretty much every record over the weekend, knocking The Dark Knight into second place in many categories. Bruce Jenner did all he could to tune out his annoying family on Keeping Up with the Kardashians last night. He gets countless points for the attempt, but the clan as a whole lost a ton in this +/- review of its weekly, scripted shenanigans… Kim asks Rob, in response to him having not seen Mason in awhile, “doesn’t that hurt your soul?” She then sticks her chest out for a nice shot by the E! cameras. PLUS 7 . Khloe brings Bruce a “harmony comb” to help with his hearing. It’s a paper plate and candle (below) resting on the side of his head. He then complains about Khloe taking a photo and putting it on YouTube. The E! camera man shakes his head and hands out MINUS 13 points for the irony. Keeping Up with the Kardashians Scene “When in doubt, throw it away,” Khloe says in regard to a turkey baster. MINUS 6 to E! producers for not taking the same stance with all copies of this show. Kourtney is afraid Rob is missing her son growing up because they haven’t spent quality time together. PLUS 5 to Rob for understanding he can just watch the process via the Internet instead. Kris tells Bruce she told him to pick up the girls 45 minutes ago, but he didn’t hear her. MINUS 47 points to every viewer who believes this exchange actually took place. PLUS 12 , though, to Kendall and Kylie for selling this imaginary storyline pretty well… until, MINUS 67 , one of them says they could have “been kidnapped.” People actually get kidnapped, you self-serving, greedy morons. Bruce passes his hearing test. He failed his integrity test years ago, so we’ll give him PLUS 6 for finally getting a passing grade here. Rob is sick ! Kris changes out of her fancy shoes and into her tennis shoes to check on the problem! PLUS 3 points to myself for having not broken my television yet. Kris says you “worry a lot” any time your child is “put under.” MINUS 29 because she forgot to include: “unless she is put under Ray J on video because that nets your family millions.” You won’t believe this, but Kourtney brings Scott flowers to close the episode and the pair makes up. Casey Anthony became a free woman early Sunday morning. Just after midnight, wearing blue jeans and a bright pink top, and with hundreds of protesters heckling her, the 25-year-old walked out of the front door of the Orange County Booking and Release Center in Orlando, Fla. With her were attorney Jose Baez and two sheriff’s deputies: Casey Anthony Release With the cash from her supporters and a police escort into a gray SUV, Anthony drove her into the hot Florida night, her destination unknown. “She had a look of relief on her face,” said photographer Tony Zumbado. “There was a smile on her face. She looked glad to be out of there.” Most people were not decidedly unhappy she’s out of there. An angry crowd of more than 300 people had formed outside the jail. Police on horseback tried to maintain control of the vitriolic mob scene. “Casey, rot in hell!” one person screamed at Anthony. “You killed your daughter, Casey!” shouted another. That person is far from alone in that belief, but a jury concluded that based on the evidence presented, prosecutors couldn’t prove she did it. Casey was arrested, tried and acquitted of murdering her two-year-old daughter Caylee. The highly unpopular verdict shocked the public and has resulted in many death threats for Anthony and those close to her. Anthony’s future whereabouts and plans are unclear.
