Rock of Ages: The No Biggie Kiss Between Alec Baldwin & Russell Brand

It’s going on seven years since Brokeback Mountain brought cowboys and leading men out of the closet – even if they weren’t exactly gay. But still, man on man snogging sessions still make some headlines as was the case recently with 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin and actor Russell Brand who share make-out time in the forthcoming Rock of Ages . THR caught up with Baldwin following the film’s Hollywood premiere. The two actors’ characters spell out their love for each other via the REO Speedwagon song “Can’t Fight This Feeling” and top it all off with a smooch. “It’s not like Brokeback Mountain, it’s not two leading men who you are used to getting down with some gorgeous young girl,” Baldwin told THR. “It’s a little more chaste because I’m older (than Brand).” So perhaps Baldwin is brandishing the cougar-equivalent for the male-set? Baldwin of course didn’t think it was a big deal (and hey, is it really? Glamsters have been making out for decades haven’t they?) “We live in an age, and I’m being imprecise here, where half the country gets it, and the other half doesn’t,” noted Baldwin. “I live where men and women who want to get married—who gives a shit? No one gives it a thought. It’s like seeing women in power. Or like seeing African American CEOs. We’re in a fully realized age of equality in all things and it’s not surprising or new. But there is that other half for whom that is surprising and new.” It should be noted that Baldwin is once again going to be a married man (to a woman just for the record) but no word on what the next Ms. Baldwin (if she takes his name by and by) thinks. Baldwin added that the U.S. still holds hang-ups over the gay thing compared to its fellow first-worlders across the pond where same-sex relationships are just part of the day to day. “America is still a place where people are fighting these culture wars.” [Source: THR ]

David Lynch’s Blue Velvet: Watch Nearly an Hour of Deleted Scenes

David Lynch ians, clear your schedule: You’ll want to spend the next hour or so indulging in these 50 minutes of deleted scenes unearthed from Lynch’s surreal 1986 noir Blue Velvet . Order a case of Pabst Blue Ribbon longnecks and raise a toast, as Jeffrey Beaumont might: “Here’s to an interesting experience!” Thanks to the folks at Dangerous Minds, the collection of deleted scenes from Blue Velvet ‘s Blu-ray release is viewable online and below. Enjoy, and hash it out: Would re-inserting these 50 minutes make for a better cut, or is Lynch’s theatrical version the better for leaving them on the cutting room floor? We can’t post the video of Tom Ford ‘s fall 2012 collection that leaked onto the Internet last night because that could get us sued. However! You can see it here , on YouTube. It’s a trippy montage of airbrushed images set to techno music, like something you might have made when you first learned PowerPoint in computer science class, but the clothes look quite sharp. As critics mentioned , this collection… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : Show & Talk – New York Fashion Week Blog – New York… Discovery Date : 20/03/2012 22:36 Number of articles : 2

Tesco Vee: The Mr. Skin Skinterview [PICS]

Tesco Vee has been at the forefront of punk since the days when a Mohawk and a spiked collar was a political statement, not a fashion statement…although the only political statement Tesco would make is that “Politics Suck.” As he told Skin Central: “All the other bands were railing against Reagan and social injustice, and I was writing songs about poop and boners.” He founded the legendary punk ‘zine Touch and Go while working as an elementary school teacher in Michigan in 1979, then watched his creation grow into a rallying point for fledgling punk and hardcore scenes scattered across the USA and eventually into a record label . He’s also the front man for The Meatmen , a punk rock powerhouse with an outrageous live show and hilariously politically incorrect songs like Camel Jockeys Suck, Blow Me Jah, French People Suck, and Lesbian Death Dirge . Now Tesco’s infectious brand of potty-mouthed humor has been re-introduced to the world with the reformation of The Meatmen in 2008 and the collection of every issue of his famous ‘zine into the book Touch and Go: The Complete Hardcore Punk Zine ’79-’83 , published by Bazillion Points . We caught up with Tesco driving around his home state of Michigan, and he proved himself to be very much a man after Mr. Skin’s own hard-on. More after the jump!

Rihanna’s ‘Thug Life’ Joins List Of Hip-Hop Tattoo Tributes

Nas, Snoop and Game have all paid homage to other MCs with body art. By Gil Kaufman Rihanna Photo: Rihanna/Twitter Rihanna has raised a lot of eyebrows this week with her latest body modification: a tattoo that reads “Thug Life” , in honor of late hip-hop icon Tupac Shakur. While ‘Pac had the words emblazoned across his abdomen, Rihanna opted to write them across her knuckles in what appears to be glow-in-the-dark ink. Say what you will about whether the pop princess is living the kind of rising-up-from-the-streets life Shakur was honoring by splashing the name of his crew across his stomach, but she joins a long list of musicians who’ve used body art to pay homage to fallen homeys or musical inspirations. When hip-hip hookmaster Nate Dogg died last year, his old friend and collaborator Snoop Dogg had an image of Nate’s face with the legend “All Doggs Go to Heaven” written on his arm as a remembrance of the G-funk singer. And while Faith Evans once proudly bore a heart-shaped tattoo that read “B.I.G.” in honor of her then-husband Biggie Smalls. (After the couple split, however, she added some ink so it read “B.I.G. FAYE.”) After his best friend and fellow D12 member was shot and killed in 2006, Eminem filled the space on his left forearm with a giant “Proof” tat encircled with flames. Fellow Detroit MC Kid Rock has the name of his former bandmate, Joe C., on his body as well, in honor of the hype man who passed away in 2000. Drake got in the game last year when he reportedly added a portrait of late singer Aaliyah to his collection of back ink. Well before that, Nas paid a sideways tribute to Tupac with his “God’s Son” stomach piece, which paid homage to both the fallen MC and to Nasty Nas’ nickname. But an artist doesn’t need to have passed on to get the tribute treatment, as evidenced by D12 member Bizarre’s love letter to Nicki Minaj, which he added to his collection last year in the form of a head shot of the female MC rocking blue hair. And while Game is no stranger to face-to-toe ink, he made a serious commitment in 2009 when he got the logo from producer/rapper Pharrell’s Star Trak label on his arm while he worked with Williams on his The R.E.D. Album. What do you think of Rihanna’s knuckle tattoo? Sound off on our Facebook page! Related Photos Hip-Hop Celebrity Tribute Tattoos Related Artists Rihanna
