A pair of celebrity gossip tabloids apparently have their collective fingers on the pulse of all things Suri Cruise. It’s like they’re reading her every thought. According to In Touch Weekly and Star Magazine, the youngster’s thoughts on the recent bombshell Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes divorce are quite clear: Team Tom. If you believe this (dis)reputable pair of magazines, Suri Cruise was won over by her dad during his recent get-together with her – a $170,000 getaway. Possibly accompanied by Scientology chaperones, the lavish reunion clearly did the trick, with Suri allegedly pleading to be with Tom over Katie now. Suri Cruise, mind you, is six years old. Juno Temple (recently, Selina Kyle’s special friend in The Dark Knight Rises ) and Riley Keough (the granddaughter of Elvis seen briefly in Magic Mike ) star in Bradley Rust Gray’s Jack and Diane , a dark romance about two young ladies experiencing puppy love and the peculiar transformations that ensue. Cara Seymour and Kylie Minogue also co-star. Who can resist? Still, Jack and Diane floundered with critics upon its Tribeca Film Festival debut . But between Magic Mike , TDKR , and this week’s Killer Joe (which features Temple as the object of Joe’s affections), there’s no better time for Magnolia to capitalize on their stars’ rising cache. Verdict: Looks cute. But will it come together? Jack and Diane debuts on VOD on September 28 and is in theaters November 2.

Over the weekend rapper Canibus added J.Cole to the list of MCs he’s had issue with over the years. What made this latest assault so bizarre is that J. Cole has publicly stated that Canibus is one of his favorite MCs and biggest influences, even playing his music at his shows. Well, it seems that is exactly what Canibus had a problem with. In an open letter, the artist best known for his battle with LL Cool and the classic diss record “Second Round K.O.” , said he felt disrespected by Cole for not mentioning his newer work. “Cole might say he does this to pay homage, but in reality, by him playing my older material owned by my former label dating back to 1998, subsequently overlooking my current works and contributions which directly benefit me now, he is treating me less like an artist that has, and continues to contribute, influence, and inspire an even younger generation of MC’s coming up…” ( read the full letter here ) Canibus went on to add that Cole speaks about him “like he’s dead.” The letter was followed by a diss track called “J. Clone” (listen here) where Bis calls Cole out by his government name Jermaine and replays sound bites of interviews where Cole praises him. “ If it ain’t a threat, then it must be a promise / You said my name so much they think you’re being honest. ” The entire campaign wreaked of a desperate plea for attention and there was a very vocal outcry from fans and artists alike. Sean Price , who has recorded songs with Canibus on several occasions even Tweeted, “You get no points dissin J. Cole. Leave that man alone Canibus.” Well, it appears that Canibus got the message loud and clear and issued the following apology via Youtube. “I’ve seen thousands of comments about this J.Cole track and all of the negativity it’s stirring up, ” he says with Slick Rick’s “Hey Young World” playing in the background. “And after 48 hours of it I feel confident enough to say that it’s unanimous. Hip-Hop has spoken up loud and clear. It’s a “Cole” world right now and you’re the reigning champ, J. I take a full responsibility for my actions and I apologize for stepping over the line.” Truth be told, Canibus’s gripe is not unique. Many veteran hip-hop artists who still record have publicly wished that fans and DJs would embrace their new work instead of living in the past. But that doesn’t mean they go and attack those who still support them. Furthermore, you have some artists like Lil Kim who have waged war on MCs for NOT paying homage in the way Cole has. What kind of message is this sending to new artists? Fourteen years ago Canibus was the young buck “paying homage” and the old head took it the wrong way. You’d think he’d remember that . But throughout his career Canibus has morphed into this curmudgeonly, stereotypical mad rapper picking bones with everyone from Eminem , Joe Budden and Royce Da 5′ 9′ to even KRS-ONE . So the collective eye roll at this J.Cole shot seemed to finally shame him into calming down. “I’m not a hater, I just went too far and I hope hip-hop can forgive me for my foolishness,” he concludes. “I’m gonna go sit my old ass down somewhere right now. ‘I think I won a lot of people over,’ he tells MTV News after leaked set photos. For the most part — nitpicky casting and director complaints notwithstanding — the collective judgment that has come down via various fan sites was: “Cavill looks awesome.” And no one was more relieved to hear and see those reactions than the hard-working actor in question. When MTV News caught up with Cavill recently as he promoted his upcoming sword-and-sandals flick “Immortals,” we asked for his thoughts about the constant attention paid to him and the production, as well as his reaction to the leaked photos. “I think the best part has been recently when people have sort of seen all the work that has gone into it,” Cavill said, speaking to his physical transformation. “I think I won a lot of people over, and I felt the support really come behind me, which is a really good feeling, because when you’re doing this all for [the fans], telling a story for them … you want to do it justice,” he said, adding that on the particular day when the shirtless photos were snapped, he was fighting very chilly temperatures and 80 mph winds from a helicopter hovering above him. “It’s wonderful to have all the people online going, ‘This is great, this is amazing, I can’t wait, thank goodness it’s him.’ It’s wonderful, so thank you to everyone out there,” he said, speaking to camera. “I do appreciate it.” What do you think of Cavill’s commitment to becoming the Man of Steel? Rapper will avoid jail time after his August arrest in Miami. The 36-year-old Outkast rapper (born Antwan Patton) was in a Miami courtroom Thursday (October 13), where he agreed to a deal that includes three months of drug testing, community service and a $2,000 charitable donation, according to The Associated Press. Big Boi was arrested while exiting a cruise ship in August after a K-9 police dog sniffing for drugs hit upon him. When police searched the rapper, they allegedly found substances including 10 and a half Viagra pills, three pills of suspected Ecstasy, a cigarette roller with marijuana residue and 5.7 grams of MDMA powder. He was hit with two felony drug charges, but prosecutors said that if he remains drug-free for three months, those charges will be dismissed. Following the arrest, Big Boi’s attorney, Daniel Kane, issued a statement about the incident. “While Big Boi was traveling with his group and friends, a small amount of contraband was found in the collective luggage. I am confident when the entire facts are aired BIG BOI will be completely exonerated.” The ATLien didn’t release any statement about the deal, but he did tweet an inspirational comment about an hour after his court appearance, writing, “God is Great! #weoutchea RT @BibleWisdoms: God is light.
