Westboro Baptist Church to Protest NBA Playoff Games, Claims #GodH8sTheNBA

The Westboro Baptist Church, in response to Jason Collins coming out as gay this week, says it plans to protest a couple of NBA Playoff games. Because, apparently, God hates the NBA. Or #GodH8sTheNBA in Twitter parlance. The WBC concludes this, of course, because they really do not like homosexuality, and Collins just became the first openly gay player in major U.S. team sports. Therefore, they will picket Wednesday’s Game 5 between Oklahoma City and Houston, and tomorrow night’s Game 6 between Chicago and Brooklyn. Oklahoma City star Kevin Durant, for his part, said of Collins’ announcement: “If he’s happy, that’s cool with me. Seems like a great guy … I support him.” The Big Man Upstairs, according to the Westboro Baptist Church, takes a very different view and will make His presence known this evening at the game. Perhaps He, not Patrick Beverley, is responsible for Russell Westbrook’s injury . Think about that. Then please, for the love of all things good in this world, go discuss, Share, Tweet, and email this story to everyone you know. We just need to make sure Anonymous gets wind of it.

Mike Wallace on Jason Collins: Why Would a Guy Mess With Other Guys?!

Hours after Jason Collins came out as gay , NFL star Mike Wallace earned the distinction of penning the first moronic, borderline homophobic Tweet about it. In response to the NBA player’s admission to SI , Wallace wrote, “All these beautiful women in the world and guys wanna mess with other guys SMH (shakin’ my head).” Wallace quickly deleted his tweet and replaced it with an apology. “Never said that anything was right or wrong I just said I don’t understand!! Deeply sorry for anyone that I offended,” wrote the 26-year-old Dolphins receiver. A 12-year NBA veteran, Jason Collins is the first active player in major U.S. team sports to come out as gay. But not everyone was moved by the 34-year-old. According to Wallace, the dude is just missing out. Just think of all the bikini photos he could be ogling instead of shirtless guys! SMH, right Mike?! In Wallace’s slight defense, women’s bodies are more like art, while men’s bodies are for utility purposes, to borrow one of our favorite Seinfeld quotes . It is possible he didn’t mean to be critical, but either way, he’s a jackass for actually Tweeting that, as if one is “better” or Collins has any choice in the matter. Do you agree?

Zac Efron Reveals Best Music For Setting The Mood

‘Phil Collins,’ ‘Lucky One’ star deadpans to MTV News. By Kara Warner Zac Efron Photo: MTV News In a discussion of the finer aspects of the recently released romantic drama “The Lucky One” with stars Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling, one of the most entertaining subjects to come up revolved around prolific romance author Nicholas Sparks, author of the novel upon which the film is based . Specifically, we wondered whether Efron and Schilling had ever experienced any Sparks-like fantasy romance scenarios in real life. “I’m sure I’ve said some of those lines,” Efron admitted to MTV News. “They’re probably worse — not as good as the ones [Sparks has] written, but they were excellent in the moment.” “I’m sure they were great,” Schilling offered. “I’m sure they worked in the moment.” “I feel like they were good,” Efron said with a smile. “It’s about the right moment,” Schilling added, referring to the fact that there’s a perfect time and place for romantic gestures. “There have been a few sweeping gestures [in my life] but what means the most to me are the little things from the heart. There have been a few notes and well-timed flowers that mean more than anything else.” “Every once in a while when you look into each other’s eyes and that music starts playing, I love that,” Efron joked, which prompted us to ask a follow-up question about which song you should play when trying to set the mood. “That’s a good question. What would be your song that you would play?” Schilling asked Efron. “I have no answer.” “Phil Collins,” Efron deadpanned, which sent his co-star into a fit of giggles. “That’s great!” she said, laughing. “That’s a good blanket artist. It’s a great answer.” “I think so,” Efron said. We can just picture it now, Efron and a very lucky lady about to lock lips with Collins’ classics “In the Air Tonight” or “Against All Odds” playing in the background.
