This season 11 hopeful went all Cyndi Lauper on viewers last night, covering the classic “Time After Time” and mostly receiving praise from the judges. Jennifer Lopez said she “really liked it,” while Dixon oddly enough admitted after the performance that he took his cues from a remake of the single by Quiet Drive, only changing up a couple notes here and there. With the American Ido l top 10 taking the stage again tonight, and with this shaping up to be one of the more hotly-contested seasons to date, it’s time for the first THG Power Poll of the season. Who do you see as the favorite right now? 10. Deandre Brackensick : Would have been our choice to leave after last week’s debacle. He can hit the high notes… and that’s about it. 9. Heejun Han : Love the personality, don’t see anything on stage that makes him standout above the rest. It’s solid and nothing more or less. 8. Elise Testone : Might suffer some likability issues. Did you notice her NOT applauding for Erika last week? Or not hugging Skylar? Yes, we’re forced to nitpick when the talent is this even. We did love her version of ” Let’s Stay Together .” 7. Joshua Ledet : We expect plenty of disagreement here. It’s not a question of his voice, just of his theatrics. Ledet’s ” When a Man Loves a Woman ” may have been the single best of any contestant this season, but we can see his act growing old. 6. Skylar Laine : She has the energy and the attitude, that’s for sure. She also has the identity: a rocking country chick. She just lacks the range. 5. Erika Van Pelt : Loved her take on“Edge of Glory.” A smooth, consistent voice makes it hard to see this finalist faltering in the next few weeks. 4. Colton Dixon : Love the risks he takes – a song by White Lion ?!? – and love his confidence on stage. Most definitely stands out on a weekly basis. 3. Jessica Sanchez : Will go down in Idol history for her version of “ I Will Always Love You .” That should be enough to keep her around for awhile. But can she go outside the world of ballads? A less-than-impressive take on “Turn the Beat Around” causes us to wonder. 2. Hollie Cavanagh : Has she had an off week yet? Memorable auditions of “Reflection,” “All the Man That I Need,” and “The Power of Love” prove she has staying power. Could work on her versatility and stage presence. 1. Phillip Phillips : He’s a cute young white guy with a guitar. Until American Idol viewers prove they are capable of crowning someone else, he has to be the favorite. Snow White and the Huntsman released its latest, full-length theatrical trailer this weekend, and the film looks even more bad ass than before, if that’s possible. At this weekend’s Wonder-Con, with stars Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart on hand, the film was billed as being “not like anything you’ve seen before.” It actually looks like it could live up to the hype, based on the latest trailer showcasing even more of Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Theron’s Evil Queen. American Idol executives have reportedly offered a bit of advice to Colton Dixon, and it’s not about his pitch or his song choice or his weekly on-stage outfits. The season 11 finalist told Today.com that producers warned him about coming across as overly religion online, fearing this would alienate a segment of viewerso. “When we first started the Twitter and Facebook stuff, they said beware of political and religious tweets,” Dixon said. “Just because it can turn off voters or whatever. But, you know, being a Christian is who I am. It is a part of me musically. It is what I want to do after the show – go into Christian music.” Dixon has found himself in a couple Twitter wars as a result of his open views, however. One user recently suggested the crooner “can’t Tebow his way to a win,” referencing the Denver Broncos quarterback who led his team to the NFL playoffs admits controversy of his frequent references to God and post-game prayer celebrations. “I don’t follow Tebow,” Dixon Tweeted in response. “I follow a guy named Jesus. I’m just trusting His plans. Whatever that may be.” In the end, of course, Dixon and all contestants will mostly be judged on their ability. Jenelle Evans, Leah Messer, Kailyn Lowry and Chelsea Houska reunited last night in part two of the MTV reality show’s time-honored “checkup” with Dr. Drew Pinsky. Last week, in part one of the reunion , Kailyn and Jenelle were in the hot seat. This time it was Leah and Chelsea on the receiving end of Dr. D’s burning questions. What did we find out? Not a lot, but here’s our recap! Minus 20 right off the bat because so much has changed in the girls’ lives since this show was taped last summer that this feels like watching some other season. The real reasons for the end of Leah and Corey’s marriage: Lack of intimacy. Infidelity. The constant battle with their girls’ health problems. Beef hot dogs. Plus 30 . Seriously. This came up. You knew Corey had checked out of the marriage when he came home with beef hot dogs, not “pork and chicken.” The horror. Minus 5 . Speaking of pork(ing), Leah cheated with her ex-boyfriend a week before her wedding to Corey, AND at her Bachelorette party with the same dude! Minus 40 . Drew finally persuaded Corey to go to therapy with Leah, and they made such AMAZING progress … not! She’s engaged to some other guy! Timing fail. Minus 10 . Speaking of which, be advised, Jeremy Calvert. Just be advised. Minus 5 . Dr. Drew is crushing hardcore on Adam Lind for some reason. Plus 15 . “He’s actually changed,” Pinsky said of the abusive a-hole texter who once referred to Aubree as a “mistake.” Really? Have you watched Season 2? Minus 20 . Drew encourages them to profess their love on TV. Uhhh, Minus 5 . This is even more pointless because Chelsea is now reportedly involved in a made for MTV romance with a Caged MMA fighter, but Plus 25 since he’s not Adam. Did Chelsea get her GED? Will she and Adam continue this unhealthy pattern and end up in bed again? Who knows! Bring on Teen Mom 2 Season 3! Plus 5 . EPISODE TOTAL: -25! SEASON TOTAL: +33!
