Rihanna’s Reb’l Fleur Spot: How Does It Compare To Other Pop-Star Fragrance Ads?

Like Britney and Mariah before her, singer has created sexy campaign for new perfume. By James Dinh Rihanna Photo: Michael Tran/ FilmMagic Following in the footsteps of a string of pop stars before her, Rihanna has expanded her empire with the release of her fragrance Reb’l Fleur . In the commercial for the perfume, the “S&M” singer turns up the mystery and allure, showcasing her naughty and nice sides as she takes a tantalizing stroll through a garden maze and falls for a tuxedo-clad seducer. RiRi hits the nail on the head by creating an ultra-sexy and sleek atmosphere for the two-minute clip. Here we review some other noteworthy pop-star fragrance campaigns. Britney Spears, Radiance Escaping the paparazzi is a day-to-day nuisance for Britney, but in the 30-second spot for her latest fragrance, Radiance, the pop princess succeeds as she flees through the back door of a glitzy event and wanders into the misty city. Dressed in a dazzling backless dress, the songstress happens upon a fortune-teller shop. Spears walks through a sparkling beaded entrance and sits down with the mystic. “Do you want me to tell you your future?” asks the fortune-teller, hovering over a magic ball. Brit declines the offer with a simple response: “No thanks, I choose my own destiny.” Mariah Carey, M The advertisement for M is a sensual clip full of sunsets and barely-there body shots. As her ballad “For the Record” plays, Mimi dabs her signature scent on her neck as scenes of her glowing figure flash before the camera. Add in a few shots of the songbird posing in the rain, and there you have it. The advert ends with Mariah lying in water as she exposes her backside and blends in with sunset scenery. Avril Lavigne, Forbidden Rose Avril takes the name of her scent to a literal meaning when she embarks on a walk in a dark forest. Entering through an iron gate, the pop-punk starlet trails deeper into the grounds to find a glowing purple rose surrounded by a white chain. As she bends down to grab the flower, the haunting background music escalates and the chain around the rose falls to the ground. Lavigne smells the rose and throws it to the camera as she says in voiceover, “Dare to discover. Forbidden Rose. The fragrance by Avril Lavigne.” Gwen Stefani, L It’s easy for Gwen to rock a pop-punk look, but it’s even easier for her to don a glamorous one as proven by the commercial for L. The 30-second spot finds the singer doing underwater flips in a dark pool. “I want you all over me,” she says. Emerging from the water in a red one-piece, Ms. Stefani then takes a dip in the pool of a luxurious mansion. Repeating the signature catchphrase again, Stefani lifts her fragrance bottle into the air and flashes a wide smile as it glistens in the sun. What’s your favorite pop-star fragrance ad? Super Bowl Instant Replay

It’s the day after the Super Bowl .  Cue the commercial critiques.  Every year, people are underwhelmed at the commercials.  After watching many Super Bowls and analyzing people’s responses, we have come to realize that the disappointment is more to do with the unrealistc expectations the commercial have every year and less to do wtih the commercials actually sucking more than any other year. With that being said, there were some commercials that people universally liked.  We’ve taken liberty to choose some. The first, above, was the Bud Light Dog Sitter commercial.  It was brilliant.  We saw dogs doing everything from waitressing, to bartending to DJing. Joan Rivers arguably took the place of Betty White this Super Bowl season.  Although Joan’s commercial wasn’t as good as Betty’s Snickers commercial, it was better than Betty’s replacement in the Snicker’s Super Bowl ad this year , Roseanne Bar .  Joan was like Betty in that her career is really on a steady incline proving that age isn’t anything but a number. Since GoDaddy is known for having young, hot spokeswomen, the reveal of Joan River’s was unexpected to be least.  Never mind that her head was plastered on a rocking body.  Joan has been going around today telling everyone how great her body is. Best Buy’s commercial was a riot. Ozzy Osbourne wasn’t just pretending not to know who Justin Bieber was, he really  doesn’t know who Justin Bieber is .   Bieber and Ozzy couldn’t be more different so that fact that they’re in this commercial making fun of that is hilarious. Pepsi Max was all over the Super Bowl.  This commercial was particularly great because the thoughts that the guy and the girl are each having inside their heads are so typical of every first date. Any commercial that can manage to get several classic TV shows and modern sitcoms into one spot is phenomenal.  It’s fitting that the NFL itself was behind this great commercial.  The ad shows all the sitcoms referencing the NFL over the years with the tag line that the NFL has the best fans. Car ads were also all over the big game.  Most of them were straight to the point and rather boring.  It’s for that reason that the Donny Deutsch created Darth Vader commercial was the best of the car ads.  The kid behind the mask is all over TV this week so catch him if you can.

What was the Best Commercial of Super Bowl XLV?

Christina Aguilera flubbed, the Black Eyes Peas lit up and, somewhere along the way, Aaron Rodgers led the Green Bay Packers to a 31-25 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. But in the minds of many viewers, Super Bowl XLV was all about what happened in between these events. Namely, the commercials. From Eminem returning home to a mini version of Darth Vader using his Force, car companies came up with the most creative advertisements. In our opinion, at least. What’s yours? PIC: Check Out Justin Bieber’s Shocking Big Game Makeover

Justin Bieber ‘s going back to the future! The teen singer underwent a complete makeover to appear in Best Buy’s inaugural Super Bowl commercial, which aired during Sunday’s Packers-Steelers showdown. The 30-second spot featured an aged Bieber, 16, clad in a tee of his own likeness and sporting a mustache and beard combo that rendered him unrecognizable. Promoting the brand’s new technology buy back program, Bieber appeared in the spot opposite Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne . “What’s a Bieber?!” Ozzy joked. The singer’s quick-witted reply? “I don’t know. It kind of looks like a girl.” During the commercial’s shoot in January, Bieber appeared to drop a few hints on Twitter. “Can’t really say what I’m up to today but when you guys find out it’s gonna be funny as heck,” he wrote on January 17, adding, “#todaywasepic.” “We’re delighted to have Justin and Ozzy help us tell the Best Buy story,” Drew Panayiotou, senior vice president of U.S. marketing at Best Buy, told UsMagazine.com in a statement at the time the pair’s collaboration was announced. “We know people have high expectations for these ads, and Justin and Ozzy add a whole new dimension of fun.”

Justin Bieber & Ozzy Osbourne’s Best Buy Super Bowl Commercial Steals The Show

Odd commercials work and no one can say that Ozzy Osbourne , 62, and Justin Bieber , 16,  are not an odd combination.  The two appear in a commercial for Best Buy that is said to have cost $4M and appeared today at the 2011 Super Bowl.  You have to watch it the commercial is a cut above of the others I saw and definitely stole the show.  Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s wife also appears in the commercial.  The Biebs is said to have been paid $1 Million for the ad. The funniest part of the video is when Justin says “It’s Bieber 6G fever”   Sharon replies “What’s a 6G?”   Ozzy says “What’s a Bieber”   and then Justin who is in disguise says “I don’t know but it kinda looks like a girl”   Now we all know they censored Ozzy cause what he wanted to really says was “What the FU?* is a Bieber” LOL but the video is still a hoot.  Watch it below and lets us know what you think of it?
