Only in LA: An opera about a freeway

Los Angeles Opera said today that it will present two workshop performances of a new commission called “The 110 Project,” an opera that tells the stories of the communities along L.A.'s 110 Freeway, which runs from the Pasadena area, past downtown and all the way to San Pedro.

By Matt Harper Travis McCoy Photo: MTV News Travis McCoy premiered a new solo track titled “One at a Time” Wednesday night at a charity event in on New York City’s Lower East Side. The single is meant to reflect Travis’ time spent touring the globe with MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation — a nonprofit organization that aims to support young people working to prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS in their communities.

And as you heard people on the teevee, attempting to explain what a “health care co-op” is, you might have been left with the strong impression that no one really knew what the hell they were talking about
