The X Factor results show was not especially kind to Paige Thomas and Vino Alan last night, as the hopeful singers were each sent home. Did the eliminations take these contestants by surprise? “I wouldn’t say I was expecting it,” Thomas told reporters after the show. “But at this point in the competition, because everybody’s so good, you can never really expect anything… I’m somewhat relaxed because now I can really just be myself.” Alan was more direct (“I didn’t expect to go home,” he said), while admitting he changed his Wednesday night song at the last moment from “Too Close” to ” You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling .” But he holds no grade toward mentor L.A. Reid. “I don’t blame L.A.,” he said. “I blame myself for not standing up. That’s the advice I’d give to anybody: follow your gut.” Thomas also harbors no ill will toward Demi Lovato , saying she’s grateful for that star’s support. “We spent a lot of time with [Demi], especially compared to all the other judges,” Thomas said. “She really did take time to sit down with us and talk to us. She’s got a career that she’s still building and so do I, but I’d definitely like to stay in touch with her.” Did you think Thomas and/or Alan deserved to be eliminated? No way, Paige deserved to stay! Nope, Vino all the way! Yes, but I wish them luck! View Poll »

Super Size Me director Morgan Spurlock will take on a boy band for his next project and rabid fans will get a 3-D view. U.K. group One Direction will be the subject of a film by the Oscar-nominated director in a project that will be produced by X-Factor producer Simon Cowell. One Direction – Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson – have had a meteoric rise since they were plucked into notoriety by Cowell’s original British version of X-Factor in 2010. The five-some quickly became one of the competition’s all-time popular acts. They finished in the final three, but more importantly, they amassed a massive fan base. In March 2012, One Direction’s debut album, Up All Night , made a splash stateside, making them the first British group to have a debut album enter the U.S. Billboard 200 chart at number 1. The band has sold over 13 million records worldwide and today the group released their sophomore album, Take Me Home , which includes the hit single, Live While We’re Young . The TriStar Pictures project is set for an August 30, 2013 release, which lands on Labor Day weekend in the U.S. and Canada. Morgan Spurlock, Ben Winston, Simon Cowell, and Adam Milano will produce the film. [Source: Deadline ]
Tony Stark is struggling to hold it together in the first trailer for Iron Man 3 , and that’s before Ben Kingsley as conveniently and ambiguously-ethnic baddie The Mandarin enters the picture with his samurai hair and his even more ambiguous weirdo accent. Then it’s bye bye Stark mansion and hello waking nightmare as Tony’s world unravels. “Nothing’s been the same since New York ,” he sighs. “I can’t sleep… and when I do, I have nightmares.” Air-attacks crumbling that sweet Malibu pad into the Pacific and being haunted by an Iron Man doppelganger are freaky enough, but the saddest sight in our first glimpse at Iron Man 3 has to be the image of Stark crawling into bed alone, Iron Man parts strewn across the floor like an addict’s discarded syringes. Five bucks the line “It’s like I don’t even know you” or “I can stop whenever I want!” are uttered somewhere in this movie. Trailer debut via Apple iTunes : Dynamic action, a hint of self-destruction, Guy Pearce’s clean-shaven and therefore supremely threatening mug (what’s more rage-inducing if you’re Tony Stark – Pearce kissing your lady on the cheek, or your competition from another dude in a magical flying suit?)… I’d venture to say it seems like Shane Black is back. Let’s hope. Synopsis: Marvel Studios’ “Iron Man 3” pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man? Iron Man 3 is in theaters May 3, 2013.

With Kim Kardashian having already perfected the sex factor, sister Khloe is now officially in for The X Factor . TMZ reports that this Kardashian sibling will co-host Season 2 of Simon Cowell’s creation alongside former Saved by the Bell and current ab-tastic TV personality Mario Lopez. No word yet on the salaries for either star, but look for Khloe and Mario to debut next month when The X Factor goes live. Compared to expectations set by Cowell last year, the competition has been a major dud for Fox. It fails to break 10 million viewers on a weekly basis, while American Idol – even during a down season – typically doubles that number. Will Kardashian and Lopez help the series to a marked improvement? Are you excited for them as hosts? Yes, they’re perfect! No, are you kidding?!? Whatever View Poll »
