Scotty McCreery Makes History!

The impressive start to Scotty McCreery’s career has now reached historic proportions. The new American Idol champion’s first single, “I Love You This Big,” is now the highest-charting debut for a new country artist in 20 years. The track shot to number-one on iTunes and number-three on Billboard’s Digital Songs chart; while his compilation CD peaked at number-three on the country chart. Scotty McCreery – I Love You This Big In response, Scotty – who will head to Nashville next week and start recording his first album – released the following statement: “I am humbled and shocked by this news. I can’t tell you what it means to me to be on the same charts as my musical heroes. I want to thank my fans and especially country radio for their support. “I continue to be amazed by everything that has happened to me in such a short time. “This is such a special song to me, so I am thrilled that it is getting such a great reception at country radio. What I love about ‘I Love You This Big’ is that it can mean different things to different people.

Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj Tapped For Japan Aid Compilation LP

U2 and Bon Jovi will also be featured on digital-only album from Universal Music. By James Dinh Justin Bieber Photo: George Pimentel/ WireImage Some of pop music’s biggest artists, including Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj, are lending their tunes for a good cause. On Monday (March 21), it was announced that Universal Music is rushing out a digital-only compilation album to raise awareness and funds for those affected by the 9.0-magnitude earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan. While the lineup and track list have yet to be finalized, other chart-toppers expected to be featured on the release include U2 and Bon Jovi. Lady Gaga may also appear on the album. Proceeds from sales will go to the Japanese Red Cross. “We are doing it only digitally because it is faster, and this will be a worldwide release. The plan is to have it available later this week,” a spokesperson for Universal Music said. In order to maximize proceeds, the record label plans to find more acts willing to waive royalties that would have come from having their tracks appear on the compilation. Universal Music is not the only music-industry player reaching to support Japan disaster relief. Most recently, the Black Eyed Peas announced that the music video for their tune “Just Can’t Get Enough” would be used to promote awareness and funds for victims of the tragic event. The clip, which was shot in Japan one week before the earthquake and tsunami hit, finds the BEP bandmates traveling throughout Toyko. Earlier this month, Lady Gaga designed a special prayer bracelet with all proceeds going to relief efforts. In just two days, the pop singer and her legion of little monsters raised more than $250,000. For more information on what you can do to help with earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan head to MTV Act , or text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. No Doubt Having ‘More Fun’ Than Ever Recording LP

Bassist Tony Kanal promises an ‘even bigger’ tour than 2009 trek. By James Dinh No Doubt (file) Photo: Jason Squires/ Getty Images It’s been nine years since No Doubt released their last studio album, and it’s been a while since we’ve heard news on the follow-up to 2001’s Rock Steady, but bassist Tony Kanal assured fans that the group is steadily working on their new album and conjuring up a big tour. “I swear, we’re having more fun than we’ve ever had writing a record before,” Kanal told Billboard.com of their recording process earlier this week. “I think [because] it’s been a while, but also because we’re older … the fact that we’re still doing it together after 24 years — you know, working on music — I think we really appreciate that.” While the soon-to-be father admitted that they are still in the writing phase of the project, he did assure fans that their comeback will be worth the wait, as they’ll take their new material on the road. “I think it’ll be even bigger, and when I say bigger, I mean more shows and around the world,” he revealed. During the summer of 2009, No Doubt reunited for a tour alongside Paramore. Additional acts, including the Sounds, Janelle Mon

Draw Mohammed day 2010: Mo’s A-Plenty

I like how the song starts out all folksy and ends big band rockin style. A lot of talent out there expressed in many ways. One thought occurred to me during the compilation: What if Mohammad were Jesus coming back with a modified message from God? Then you have the enigma of Mo really being Jesus who is really God who is really all of us… i think i ate too many percocet. added by: onemalefla
