Ariana Grande Manchester Concert: Sold Out! In 6 Minutes!

In response to last week’s horrible suicide bombing in Manchester,  Ariana Grande penned an emotional letter that partially read as follows: Music is something that everyone on Earth can share. Music is meant to heal us, to bring us together, to make us happy. So that is what it will continue to do for us. We will continue in honor of the ones we lost, their loved ones, my fans and all affected by this tragedy. As it turns out, the singer is not the only person who feels this way. Within six minutes of tickets going on sale for Grande’s upcoming tribute concert, multiple outlets confirm that the event sold out. Totally and completely. In just six minutes. Makes you feel pretty good about humanity, doesn’t it? That so many people are willing to head back to the scene of this awful crime , in order to prove to the terrorists that they don’t scare us… and also to raise money for all affected by this tragedy? As previously detailed, this special show will take place June 4 at the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground. Among the act who will join Grande on stage will be Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus Coldplay and Justin Bieber. Proceeds from the concert will go to the Red Cross’ Manchester Emergency Fund and be used to benefit the victims and the families affected by the suicide bombing at Grande’s Manchester Arena concert on May 22. In that act of terrorism, 22 people were killed and over 100 were injured. Those who attended this original concert have been offered free tickets; the remainder went on sale for on Thursday morning for $52. Shortly after the event sold out, Ticketmaster released a statement that assured these original concert goers they would be covered. It reads as follows: “We would like to reassure any fans that were at the show that they will receive a free ticket for One Love Manchester, provided we can verify their initial booking. We thank fans for their patience as we continue to process the registrations. “We want to give all fans who were at the show, regardless of where they bought their tickets, every opportunity to register for One Love Manchester. “We’ve opened up the registration again today, until 2 p.m.” It’s unclear where E! News gets its estimate from, but the website approximates that this show will bring in about $2.6 million. Pretty amazing, huh? She called me up and asked me if I would I be involved, and obviously, it was a no brainer. It was a terrible thing to happen. “But Ariana can pull some of her friends together and get on stage and raise some needed money for the victims of a terrible attack. “I guess that’s the least we can do as artists: get up there and sing a few songs and try to put some smiles on some faces.” Amen to that. We salute Grande and everyone taking part in this concert. And we continue to send our condolences to everyone associated with the tragedy of May 22.

Ariana Grande Memorial Concert: Who’s on Board?

Ariana Grande has talked the inspiring talk. And now she’s about to walk the fundraising walk. Just as she vowed she would do a few days ago in a moving statement , the artist has put together a concert in Manchester that won’t just honor the victims who died in last week’s nail bombing massacre… … it will also raise money for their families. As you very likely know by now, Grande had just finished a show in this same British city last Monday when tragedy struck. A terrorist detonated an explosive that killed 22 attendees , while also injuring dozens and dozens more. Grande rushed back to Florida to be with her family shortly after the attack, Tweeting that she was “broken” by what transpired and offering her heartfelt condolences to all affected by the massacre. But the young artist then re-grouped and came up with a plan of action. She will return to Manchester on June 4 for what is being titled the “One Love Manchester” concert. And she’s bringing some famous friends along with her. Here is what we now know about the special event: – It will be held at the city’s Old Trafford cricket ground, which can seat over 76,000 people. – Along with Grande, the following musicians are scheduled to perform: Justin Bieber, Take That, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Coldplay Niall Horan and Pharrell Williams. – Those who attended the ill-fated May 22 concert can request free tickets to see the show. – Regular tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Manchester time this Thursday, June 1. – All proceeds will go to an emergency fund set up by the city of Manchester and the British Red Cross to benefit the families of victims who perished in the bomb or victims who were injured in the attack. In the wake of this unimaginable crime, many of the stars who will take to the stage in Manchester Tweeted their support and prayers. “Broken hearted for the families tonight. Broken hearted for Ari. Broken hearted for the state of this world,” wrote Perry, while Bieber added: “#PrayforManchester.” Wrote Coldplay last week: “sending all of our Love to all those affected by last night’s tragedy in manchester.” Cyrus, meanwhile, dedicated the following performance on The Voice to everyone associated with this bombing: Miley Cyrus Dedicates The Voice Performance to Ariana Grande Grande has canceled all European tour dates up through June 7; it’s unclear right now if she’ll take the stage in Paris that night as initially planned. But here is a portion of what she wrote on Friday, as she announced this tribute concert and made fans out of pretty much every person on the planet: My heart, prayers and deepest condolences or with the victims of the Manchester Attack and their loved ones. There is nothing I or anyone can do to take away the pain you are feeling or to make this better. However, I extend my hand and heart and everything I possibly can give to you and yours, should you want or need my help in any way… Music is something that everyone on Earth can share. Music is meant to heal us, to bring us together, to make us happy. So that is what it will continue to do for us. We will continue in honor of the ones we lost, their loved ones, my fans and all affected by this tragedy. They will be on my mind and in my heart everyday and I will think of them with everything I do for the rest of my life. View Slideshow: Manchester Bombing: A Tribute to the Victims Amen, Ariana. Ariana Grande Says She Will Go Back To Manchester To Perform

View post:

Outside of one Twitter post, Ariana Grande has been understandably quiet on the Manchester bombing following her concert. The young star presumably took the time to gather her thoughts and grieve for the many lives lost that day. Now, she’s ready to speak up. In an Instagram post, Grande typed a lengthy statement, giving her reaction […]

Ariana Grande Vows Return to Manchester, Plans Benefit Concert

Ariana Grande hasn’t just spoken out once again in response to the bombing that killed 22 of her fans this past Monday night . She’s spoken out in defiance . In brave, admirable, impressive defiance. Shortly after the mass murder in Manchester this week, Grande took to Twitter and simply wrote that she was “broken.” She sent her apologies to all affected by the heinous terrorist act, but, really, what else could she say at that time? Nothing. Not really. Not anything that could be of any real use or assistance or comfort to families that lost their children at her concert. Now, however, the 23-year old star has issued her longest and most heartfelt response yet to the unimaginable event. As you’ve likely read all about by now, a suicide bomber (with alleged ties to ISIS ) detonated a nail bomb around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, targeting attendees as they left Grande’s show. The dead ranged in age from 8 to 50, with Grande canceling upcoming European tour dates in response and asking everyone to keep these victims in their thoughts and prayers. Again, what else could she really say? After a few days home with her boyfriend and her family, however, Grande has formulated somewhat of a plan. She has once again extended her condolences to everyone impacted by this massacre, but she’s also stood strong in the face of such terrorist actions. And she’s made it clear that she won’t let hate defeat love. “My heart, prayers and deepest condolences or with the victims of the Manchester Attack and their loved ones,” Grande writes to open her new message, adding: “There is nothing I or anyone can do to take away the pain you are feeling or to make this better. “However, I extend my hand and heart and everything I possibly can give to you and yours, should you want or need my help in any way.” Grande goes on to explain her plans, saying she’ll return to Manchester at some point down the line and she will once again perform in this beloved city. She’ll raise money for the families of the victims and she will try as hard as she can to serve as a positive role model in these trying times. Scroll down to read her entire, awe-inspiring statement… The only thing we can do now is choose how we let this affect us and how we live our lives from here on out. I have been thinking of my fans, and of all of you, nonstop over the past week. The way you have handled all of this has been more inspiring and made me more proud than you’ll ever know. The compassion, kindness, love, strength and oneness that you’ve shown one another this past week is the exact opposite of the heinous intentions it must take to pull off something as evil as what happened on Monday. YOU are the opposite. I am sorry for the pain and fear that you must be feeling and for the trauma that you, too, must be experiencing. We will never be able to understand why events like this take place because it is not in our nature, which is why we shouldn’t recoil. We will not quit or operate in fear. We won’t let this divide us. We won’t let hate win. I don’t want to go the rest of the year without being able to see and hold and uplift my fans, the same way they continue to uplift me. Our response to this violence must be to come closer together, to help each other, to love more, to sing louder and to live more kindly and generously then we did before. I’ll be returning to the incredibly brave city of Manchester to spend time with my fans and to have a benefit concert in honor of and to raise money for the victims and their families. I want to think my fellow musicians and friends for reaching out to be a part of our expression of love from Manchester. I will have details to share with you as soon as everything is confirmed. View Slideshow: Manchester Bombing: A Tribute to the Victims In conclusion, Grande writes: From the day we started putting the ‘Dangerous Woman Tour’ together, I said that this show, more than anything else, was intended to be a safe space for my fans. A place for them to escape, to celebrate, to heal, to feel safe and to be themselves. To meet their friends they’ve made online. To express themselves. This will not change that. When you look into the audience at my shows, you see a beautiful, diverse, pure, happy crowd. Thousands of people, incredibly different, all there for the same reason, music. Music is something that everyone on Earth can share. Amazing. So well said. Let us know when that benefit concert takes place, Ariana. We’ll be there for sure.
