Mac Miller Takes Over NYC With Sold-Out Show

‘To come and sell out Irving Plaza real quick is great, man,’ the ‘Donald Trump’ MC tells MTV News before Thursday night concert. By Rob Markman Mac Miller Photo: MTV News NEW YORK — What a difference a year makes. Last year Mac Miller hit the intimate S.O.B.’s to perform his first show in the city, but on Thursday night, the Pittsburgh rap phenomenon returned to the much-larger Irving Plaza to begin his Blue Slide Park Tour before a sold-out crowd. “The transition is crazy, like seeing how things build,” Mac told MTV News just hours before taking the stage on Thursday. “In New York, in S.O.B.’s, I was freaking out about that, man. I was like, ‘Man, there all these people here for me.’ So to come and sell out Irving Plaza real quick is great, man. That’s why I do what I do — to keep on growing and building.” The young energetic crowd of teens and 20-somethings, who were mostly dressed in Miller’s “Most Dope” T-shirts, welcomed the opening acts, but as the clock ticked, they grew impatient. With the stage lights dark, the throng of supporters held their thumbs up (a hand signal Mac Miller and his fans share in a sign of solidarity) and began to chant “Mac, Mac, Mac, Mac.” Finally, at 9:22 p.m. ET, the charismatic rhyme dealer emerged onstage from a cloud of smoke. Miller began rapping as the tinkling from his “Best Day Ever” track filled the concert hall. “I never take a day off/ Work around the clock my engineer getting paid off,” he rapped, taking center stage in a New York Yankees snapback and a blue zip-up hoodie. The stage design matched Miller’s Blue Slide Park album theme. There were street lights, a park bench and Mac’s DJ’s booth was set up to look like an ice-cream cart. Performing fan favorites from his K.I.D.S. and Best Day Ever mixtapes, Mac breezed through songs like “Get Up,” the Al B. Sure-sampling “Ride Around” and “Senior Skip Day.” When the Empire of the Sun-tinged “The Spins” dropped, Mac didn’t have to say a word as the crowd performed the song’s opening lyrics for him. “Wanna get a mansion, a Jacuzzi, a theater to watch my movies,” recited concertgoers from the front to the back of the venue as the 19-year-old MC sported a Kool-Aid smile. With the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand, MM turned from rapper to rock star when he pulled out a white guitar for the mellowed-out “Another Night Alone,” which he strummed onstage for the first time ever, much to the crowd’s delight. At the end of the song, Miller screamed proudly, “Yeah mother—-er, I play guitar and sh– too.” Tracks like “In the Air,” “Good Evening” and “All Around the World” brought the energy back up as fanatics bounced up and down with their hands waving in the air. There were also dedications to his deceased grandfather (“Poppy”) and his mother, who was in attendance (“I’ll Be There”), but the biggest thrill came at the end. After performing the rambunctious “Knock, Knock,” Mac abruptly left the stage only to re-emerge for an encore. And the hook to the set-ending “Donald Trump” couldn’t have been more fitting. “We gonna take over the world, while these haters get mad,” Mac Miller sang. Maybe he hasn’t taken over the world just yet, but last night Mac certainly conquered NYC! Related Artists Mac Miller

Chris Brown HOOKS UP Rolex-Returning Fan

Chris Brown made good on his promise to reward the fan who returned his $22,000 watch. An Ohio girl named Alisha got the VIP treatment last night! Team Breezy rolled through the fan’s hometown of Cincinnati, where he gave her two great seats to his concert at the city’s Riverbend Music Center. Chris also met with Alisha to thank her, then invited her to hang with him and his entourage before the show and signed a picture for good measure. Good thing he didn’t lose that gold wrist thingy. If you missed it, Chris accidentally tossed the diamond-encrusted Rolex into the crowd at the MTV VMAs last month during his ree-diculous performance. Incredibly, it landed in the lap of an honest person. Alisha ended up with the thing, then amazingly came forward and gave it back to Brown’s bouncer. Good to see her do the right thing, and that Chris treated her to a heckuva time as a result. Keep your eye out and you can see it go flying here: Chris Brown VMA Performance 2011

Top 10 Celebrity Fights

View original post here:

So word is Fabolous knocked Ray J the f**k out at the Mayweather vs. Ortiz fight in Vegas this past weekend. This is just one of many celebrity fights to have occurred over in the past few years. Is it me or aren’t these fights always the most random match ups we never expect? Sometimes celebrities fight over real issues and other times it’s just the dumbest things you can ever imagine. TUD has decided to compile a list of the top 10 celebrity fights that have played out in the public and on the blogs. Check out the list below! 10. Usher Vs. Bobby Brown- Now this was not a real fight but the blogs were buzzing about Usher and Bobby Brown getting into an altercation. We would love to see two of R&B greats go at it as if they were really competing for the title but that was not the case. Bobby Brown attended Usher’s birthday party where he greeted Usher who was so happy to see him, he put Bobby in a headlock. Bobby tried to tell Usher he could not breathe but Usher couldn’t hear him over the loud music. Bobby then picked Usher up holding him over the DJ booth when Usher’s security came to his rescue. 9. Foxy Brown Vs. Jacki-O – Foxy is considered the most controversial female rapper of all time. So no one is surprised when she gets into fights. Back in 2005, Foxy Brown and Jacki-O got into a fight down in Miami. Rumor is Jacki-O and rapper, Gravy, were in the studio recording when Foxy Brown showed up along with her nasty attitude. Jacki-O, who wishes she could have a rap career like Foxy once had, was not feeling how shady Foxy was being and put feet on her. Check out the video where Jacki-O speaks on the altercation and Foxy’s response saying it never happened and Jacki-O was just fishing for free press. Jacki-O later released a diss record aimed at Foxy titled “TKO.” 8. Joe Budden Vs. Raekwon- We all know Joe Budden loves having drama played out on cameras. He somehow believes it will help his brand and he will one day go platinum.  The beef started with Joe Budden talking trash about being better than Method Man. Now you already know the Wu is going to hold it down. At Rock The Bells 09, someone in The Wu-Tang’s camp swung on Joe. Of course, Joe Budden would make a video holding a ice pack to his face. Check the video out HERE . 7. Maino Vs. Yung Berg- Maino made it clear that he was not being a bully. The two were on tour together at the time and Maino was even featured on Yung Berg’s “The Business” remix. Yung Berg approached Maino at a club in Atlanta. “I heard you was talking reckless about me” is what Yung Berg said to Maino. Being from the streets of Brooklyn, Maino open handed slapped him. Check out the audio where Maino speaks on what happen. 6. Ne-Yo Vs. Jim Jones- This is a rare match up that we never saw coming. The fight took place at the Louis Vuitton store on 5th Avenue in New York City. Word is one of Jim Jones’ goons made a disrespectful comment about Jay-Z to Ty Ty, who is Jay’s best friend, and when Ty Ty responded things got crazy. A source told MTO that someone had a Prada shoe on Ne-Yo’s neck. Sounds like a serious brawl doesn’t it? No one suffered any major injuries. Charges against Jim Jones were pressed and he later appeared in court and was issued a Desk Appearance Ticket. Jim Jones says he was lucky not to have received any time behind bars. 5. Ray J Vs. Fabolous- We never saw this one coming. Ray J and Fabolous scrapping down after the Mayweather vs. Ortiz fight is just hilarious. Now the fight is rumored to be instigated by 50 Cent. We all know how 50 can get the beef popping off. The altercation started off as just jokes but things got real after 50 instigated. This resulted in Fabolous hitting Ray J with a two piece and a biscuit leaving him unconscious. Word is Ray J’s jewelry was stolen in the process. Read about the full story HERE . 4. Junior Mafia Vs. Dipset- Just may be one of those classic hip hop beefs. Brooklyn Vs. Harlem if you really want to take it there. The brawl took place about 10 years ago at Ruker Park in Harlem, NY.  We still don’t exactly know how this fight got started but according to JM, Cam’ron fled the scene when things got real. Check out the video where Lil’ Cease and Junior Mafia speak on the brawl.    3. Jay-Z Vs. R. Kelly – When the best of both worlds go wrong. There were rumors of Jay-Z and R-Kelly having some disagreements while touring for their second joint album Unfinished Business . I would assume the rumors true when R. Kelly was sprayed in the face with pepper spray by Jay-Z’s best friend Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith. This occurred when R. Kelly had stopped the concert and exited the stage, claiming he saw two men with guns in the audience.  This caused Jay-Z to put an end to the tour. R. Kelly wanted to go on, but Jay had enough of R. Kelly’s wild antics and continued on without him with the help of artist like Kanye West, Foxy Brown, Mary J. Blige and Missy Elliott and more, calling the show Jay-Z and Friends.  R. Kelly later hit Jay with a $75 million breach of contract lawsuit. 2. Jay-Z Vs. Lance “Un” Rivera- Now we still don’t know the truth about this fight as Nas pointed out in his “Ether” diss. The incident dates back to December 1999 when Jay was gearing up to release “Life & Times Of S. Cater” Vol. 3. Word had got back to Jay-Z that Un was responsible for his album being leaked before the release date. Jay-Z and his entourage ran into Un at The Kit Kat Club on west 43rd street in New York City. Rumor has it during the altercation Jay-Z stabbed Lance. Later, Rivera drafted a civil suit against Jay-Z  but never filed it after the two settled out of court for about $500,000 to $1 million. 1. Diddy Vs. Steve Stoute- Nas’s “Hate Me Now” video displayed Diddy and Nas being nailed to a cross like Jesus. Diddy later did not want the world to see him like that because of his religion. Steve Stoute who was Nas’a manager at the time promised Diddy that he would have him taken out of that part of the video. The video premiered with both Nas and Diddy being nailed to a cross. This resulted in Diddy and his bodyguards breaking into Steve Stoute’s office and hit him over the head with a champagne bottle. Now what I wanna know is, did Diddy bring the champagne bottle with him or did he hit Steve Stoute in the head with his own Champagne bottle? Fabolous and Ray J got into a fight in Vegas this weekend. The two artists came to blows backstage at Ray’s concert at The Palms in Vegas. And everybodyyy tweeted about it. JayDubb310: just saw Ray J and Fabolous throw blows backstage at the concert in Vegas!!!!! WillSanders: Yo @Rayj a G for swingin 1st but @myfabolouslife got the best of him According to Necole Bitchie , Fabolous and Kevin Hart had been making fun of Ray J after the HBO special “24/7″ aired and showed him singing “One Wish” in Floyd Mayweather’s living room. However, Fab and Kevin did admit that they ran into Ray at a Diddy-hosted dinner after the show aired and Ray explained that he actually sang 5 songs, but HBO decided to only air one, and that there were, in fact, girls in attendance, but they just weren’t shown. Regardless, all that didn’t seem to matter in Vegas and the two got back to going at each others necks. Sounds like the dumbest fight ever to us. Boys will be boys. On September 5th 2010 Justin came to the State Fair near where I live. Mallory and Carlee, 2 of my cousins, came all the was from PA just to see him in concert with me! This was an outside concert and standing only. You had to wake up and camp out SUPER early to get colored wristbands. The colors had times and locations on them, this was when you were allowed into the concert area. The earlier you got in line, the earlier you got to get in, the closer you are to the stage. We woke up REALLY early the day of the concert to get in line, but when we got there, the line was already so long. We we’re so upset because we thought we would be at the very back of the concert crowd. We waited in line for hours. We got purple bands meaning we would be far. This all happened at 10am and we were awake since 5am. At 11:11am, I told my two cousins to “make a wish!” Of course we all wished for the same, most logical thing! TO MEET JUSTIN BIEBER!  We got back to the fair, and there was  NO  parking. We knew we had to meet in a certain location according to our bands so I went up to this security guy and said, “Where do the purple bands go?” he said “Right here!” so we followed a few people right onto the field and stood in this line. We thought everything was right. Then this guy came out and said, ”Ok, we are taking the pictures & JUSTIN is not signing Autographs! You do not need markers out!” The 3 of us looked at each other & screamed! WHAT DID HE JUST SAY!? Thats right! We were accidentally put in the meet & greet line because meet & greet people had purple bands too, just not the same writing on them. We turned the corner and there he was! We got our picture with him and I was the last of our group to leave so I asked him for hug (he was sick and not supposed to hug) but he said YES! The good luck didn’t end there, since the meet & greet was on the field we got to get our places to stand! So instead of the very back we got front row! THANK YOU JUSTIN BIEBER & the guy that told us the wrong place.  Love, The 3 cousins:  Kacie, Mallory & Carlee Read more from the original source: On September 5th 2010 Justin came to the State Fair near where I…
