Kenyan Olympian Trained For Sport Via YouTube While most of the world-class athletes that end up competing in the Olympics train for years on end with state-of-the-art facilities and coaches…some end up having to pick up their prowess however they can . Via People : On Saturday, Julius Yego will represent Kenya in the men’s javelin throw at the Olympics. Unlike most of his competitors, Yego didn’t have access to a world-class training facility or even a coach. Instead, he perfected his sport by watching YouTube videos. “The need to succeed in javelin pushed me to the cyber café to watch great javelin throwers,” Yego, 27, tells PEOPLE. “I studied what they were doing to improve my training since I didn’t have a coach.” Yego says he fell in love with the javelin throw at a young age, practicing the sport with sharpened wooden sticks as his primary school didn’t have the proper equipment. “I realized I had the talent so I kept going,” he says. “I had the dream of being in the Olympics to compete with the best.” His perseverance paid off: Yego excelled in national competitions in high school, winning two junior national championships. According to US Weekly reports Russell and all his groomsmen wore Armani and even Ciara’s son Future Zahir, who served as ring bearer rocked a “little man suit” made by the designer. As we already reported, Ciara wore a custom Roberto Cavalli gown by Peter Dundas, along with shoes she designed with the help of Giuseppe Zanotti, while her eight bridesmaids were outfitted by Michael Costello. “Every girl’s individual style is implemented in the design of their dress, as well as their personality,” Costello told Us Weekly in a statement. “Ciara made sure of that.” Turns out the couple may have been able to consummate their union as early as Tuesday because their marriage was legal in the U.S. as of July 5th when a judge signed the marriage certificate they’d already applied for in King County, Washington according to TMZ reports. The events at the end of the comic book event series Civil War II will result in Tony Stark stepping out of the Iron Man suit and a new character, Riri Williams, taking over, Marvel tells TIME. (Note: Tony’s departure doesn’t mean you know the end to Civil War II yet.) Riri is a science genius who enrolls in MIT at the age of 15. She comes to the attention of Tony when she builds her own Iron Man suit in her dorm. Creator and Iron Man writer Brian Michael Bendis spoke exclusively to TIME about the creation of Riri Williams with book artist Stefano Caselli and Marvel’s increasingly diverse cast of characters.
