Wow, talk about a way to kick off the new year!!! In the midst of all these divorces left and right, we are happy to report that BronBron and his longtime boo are officially engaged!! The new year is already off to a hot start for Miami Heat forward LeBron James, who rang in 2012 by proposing to longtime girlfriend Savannah Brinson at his 27th birthday party Saturday night in Miami. Brinson and James are high-school sweethearts, dating back to James’ days as a standout at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio. Brinson is the mother of LeBron’s two kids, LeBron, Jr., 7, and Bryce, 4. LeBron turned 27 on Friday, and in addition to the engagement, Saturday night’s bash also featured the kind of extravagant birthday cake that you’d expect at a party thrown by King James, a towering rum cake adorned with edible 18-carat lions and Swarovski crystals. In photos from the event, LeBron can be seen wearing a black tuxedo with a bowtie and black glasses, and Brinson is wearing a black dress. Shortly after 1 a.m. ET, Heat owner Micky Arison sent a tweet congratulating his star player on the engagement, writing, “Congrats to Lebron. @KingJames and Savannah so happy 4 u guys.” Other NBA stars (and their wives) got in on the action too, as tweets of congratulations came in from L.A. Clippers point guard Chris Paul and LaLa Vazquez, the wife of New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony, among others James isn’t the first member of the Big Three to put a ring on it in 2011. Chris Bosh married Adrienne Williams in June at an extravagant wedding at Miami’s Fontainebleau Hotel — an event that required the NBA to make an exception allowing team executives and players to mingle during the lockout. St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital on the Upper West Side has been informed that an exceptionally high-profile patient will check in today to give birth. The hospital staff believes that the mom-to-be is none other than Beyoncé. Nurses shared with the site that while the identity of the patient has yet to be confirmed, whoever she is, she booked an entire half of the hospital’s “labor and delivery suite,” where Alicia Keys gave birth to baby Egypt. The suite is known for its luxurious accommodations and, according to Media Takeout, offers enough room for three deliveries and up to a dozen guests overnight. Simple math is further fueling the rumors that the famous patient is Beyoncé. In a scene on the superstar’s “Live at Roseland: Elements of 4″ DVD, Beyoncé says, “Hello! It’s September 23rd … Right now I’m actually shooting the video for ‘Countdown’ and I’m six months pregnant, pretending that my stomach is flat in body suits.” This means that Beyoncé rounded the nine months mark days ago. Dayum, we at least lil Kris Humphries is seeing some gain after the “Fairytale Divorce”… NBA sources confirmed the Nets were on the verge of re-signing Kris Humphries to a one-year deal between $7-8 million, and that the 6-foot-9 power forward would be available for Wednesday’s game at the Garden against the Knicks. Humphries was one of the NBA’s biggest surprises last season. After coming to the Nets in a trade for Eduardo Najera during the 2009-10 season, Humphries emerged as one of six players in the league to average a double-double last season, finishing with 10.0 points and 10.4 rebounds, as well as shooting a career-high 52.7 percent from the field. Humphries was acquired along with recently signed Shawne Williams in the same deal. Good for him. Now he can make some millions without having to attention slore his life away in the process. Source
