For Lauren Conrad, the hills are now alive with the sound of wedding bells. That’s right, the former MTV reality star is married! LC and William Tell exchanged vows on Saturday in an intimate California ceremony, insiders confirm to Us Weekly. They were surrounded by close friends and family members. “What a perfect way to start our lives together; surrounded by the people we love most,” Conrad and Tell said via statement. Conrad and Tell went on a Valentine’s Day blind date after being up by mutual friends in 2012. No pressure there, huh?!? They then got engaged in October of last year. “William and I are overwhelmed by all of your warm wishes,” Conrad wrote at the time. “Thank you so much for sharing in this special moment :-).” Tell graduated from law school at the University of Southern California in May and Conrad celebrated her bachelorette party in Cabo a month later. Lauren Conrad is engaged to William Tell, her boyfriend of almost two years. Everyone who knows or feels like they know her from TV is happy for her. Well, maybe not Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag . But you know what we mean. LC confirmed her engagement to William Tell this weekend. Here’s a look at the man who put a ring on The Hills and Laguna Beach star’s finger! Just like Lauren, William was born and raised in Southern California. A USC law student, he studied music and business as an undergrad. In random news, Tell is also a singer-songwriter whose tune “Just for You” can be found on the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants soundtrack. He released his solo debut album, You Can Hold Me Down , in 2007. While his relationship isn’t playing out online as so many tend to do these days, William, 33, did re-tweet a cute Instagram from Conrad last summer. “That moment when you realize the USC colored scarf you are knitting for your boyfriend might look exactly like a hogwarts scarf… awesome,” she wrote. A source close to the L.A. Candy author said the fact that he’s so non-famous was a big part of knowing Tell was “The One” right when they met him. ‘I did [reality TV] for as long as I could, then I kind of reclaimed my own life,’ ‘Fame Game’ author tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena Lauren Conrad Photo: MTV News Lauren Conrad appeared on two of MTV’s biggest reality shows: “Laguna Beach” and, later, “The Hills.” While she introduced herself to the world on “Laguna,” it was her starring role on “The Hills” that helped launch her from small-screen starlet to full-on star and mogul. Conrad left “Hills” in 2009 to make room for former “Laguna” frenemy Kristin Cavallari to lead the charge on the show, but did return in 2010 to say goodbye to the series at the show’s finale event . With several years behind her, MTV News wondered whether she would ever consider a one-off reunion special. “I don’t know, because I catch up [with] anyone I still talk to from the show. I get to see [them] regularly anyway,” Conrad explained while in New York City on a book tour for her latest piece of fiction, “The Fame Game.” “So, that just happens on a Friday night, but it’s a game night at my apartment, which is so much more fun [than a reunion special].” Conrad also shared that any reality TV, at this moment, isn’t on her agenda. Though she had been in talks to star in a new MTV series in 2010 that would focus more on her work life, it never came together. These days, she’s focused on her work as a writer and fashion designer. “Not looking to at the moment,” she said. “I’m just really happy with where I left off. I think if you’re going to do a reality show, you have this obligation to share your life with people, and I did it for as long as I could, then I kind of reclaimed my own life. Most people would be shocked to learn that Lauren Conrad of Laguna Beach and The Hills fame is a New York Times best-selling author, several times over. Lauren Conrad is one of those people. “We were doing the inside cover of the beauty book I’m working on, and under ‘also by’ it listed all my other books. I was like, ‘When did this happen?’” Three years after she made her writing debut with the L.A. Candy series, she’s back on shelves with the first book in a new trilogy, The Fame Game . In stores tomorrow, it follows Heidi Montag -like character Madison Parker, another Audrina Patridge-like character, and two other Hollywood hopefuls. As they star in a new spin-off series and adjust to life as reality TV stars, obvi. There’s a soap opera’s-worth of drama, a fake-it-for-the-cameras relationship, and a whole lot of mascara-tears. How much of it did she pull from real life? Quite a bit. The entertainment value in Conrad’s page-turners is about separating the moments based on LC’s behind-the-scene anecdotes from fiction. “The most fun for me is being able to tell all the little tricks that people do in the media,” Conrad told EW. “Mostly, the shameless ones in terms of calling their own photographers, leaking their own stories, the little things.” “The thing people don’t really know but everyone in the industry knows.” The characters in this novel are pretty shameless so it’s no wonder even the 26-year-old’s own editor struggled with playing the fact or fiction game. “My editor would always go, ‘I don’t know if this seem realistic. Is this something that could actually happen?’ I’dsay, ‘it did happen. That’s a real story.’” Conrad’s tale doesn’t require any deep thinking, but it also doesn’t really aspire to. You’re just going along with Madison and the other girls for the ride. “One of my biggest goals, especially with writing YA novels, is just to have people enjoy reading,” she said. “I remember being in high school and it was so forced because everything I read through most of school was assigned reading. “I love the idea of giving girls a book that they can read and enjoy reading.” [Photo: WENN.com]
