Bret Easton Ellis Will NOT Be Fifty Shades of Grey Screenwriter

Bret Easton Ellis will not be adapting Fifty Shades of Grey for the big screen, despite the considerable, earlier talk of the screenwriter’s involvement. Ellis made it no secret at all that he wanted to write the Fifty Shades of Grey movie , even speculating on who should portray Ana and Christian . Ian Somerhalder was even lobbying him for the part of the latter, but now it looks like Ellis will be watching from the sidelines with the rest of us. “It’s a very major disappointment to announce that I’ve somehow been taken off the list of possible screenwriters for Fifty Shades of Grey ,” Ellis tweeted. “Thanks to the fans for the months of intense support. Your awesome enthusiasm and great suggestions were instructive and meaningful to me.” It’s unclear why Ellis is out of the running or how he knows this, but it’s rumored that Universal and Focus have their eyes on four different writers: Karen Croner (One True Thing) Dan Fogelman (Cars, Tangled) Veena Sud (TV’s The Killing) Kelly Marcel (TV’s Terra Nova) Again, no idea why those four are the reported finalists , but that’s the inside information at the moment as the Fifty Shades rumor mill turns. In other news, EL James compiled Fifty Shades of Grey: The Classical Album , and Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis recently read from the book.

Super Hot Nicole Scherzinger Concert Pics

I wouldn’t exactly consider myself a fan of Nicole Scherzinger’s , at least not her music, but she’s got an amazing body on her so I think I could sit through one of her performances just to watch her shake it. Here are a few shots from a concert she did recently, highlighting her considerable skills when it comes to prancing around all sexy like in a leotard. Lose the top and I could watch this kind of thing for hours.

Chris Brown Calls Nude-Photo Leak ‘Disappointing’

‘I was like, ‘Man, now it’s gonna [look like] a gimmick behind it,’ F.A.M.E. singer tells MTV News of his initial reaction. By Rebecca Thomas Chris Brown Photo: MTV News Even with full-frontal snaps of him circulating on the Net, Chris Brown wants everyone to know that, like a certain fired sitcom star, he’s still … winning! Earlier this month, a newly blond C.Breezy was preparing for the promotional run of his March 22 release, F.A.M.E., when photographs of the heavily tatted pop&B singer — completely in the buff and facing an oblong mirror with phone in hand — leaked to the Internet. Brown quickly took to Twitter , where he unleashed a salty post before removing it: “WTF!!! Here we go!!!” On Friday (March 18), Chris stopped by MTV News for a sit-down and he explained what really got him hot under the collar about the incident. “Let me be honest with you. I didn’t want to put no pictures out; that’s not my intention. A lot of people were saying, ‘Yo, he leaked the pictures, he was trying to get promotion,’ ” the “Deuces” singer said. “For me, I was always a singer, so unless I’m planning on trying to do porn, I don’t think I’d want to just leak my wang out to the world before my album comes out.” While leaking photos might be the go-to for celebutantes and wannbe stars famished for fame, Chris was bothered that critics would accuse him of deliberately passing along provocative pictures for publicity’s sake. “It was disappointing to me that it was out, because I was like, ‘Man, now it’s gonna [look like] a gimmick behind it,’ ” he said of the pre-release push for his album. “And I don’t want a gimmick behind anything that I’m doing.” Although Brown was mum about the girl on the receiving end of those racy pics, we wondered if the experience would make him more cautious with his iPhone in the future. But it turns out Chris found something oddly liberating about it. “Nah, I’m just living life, I’m just gonna have fun,” Brown said, adjusting his Billionaire Boys Club knit cap. “At this point, there’s no more insecurities with me. Everything’s out on the table. You’ve seen everything! Also, as an artist I’m free with my music. I get to talk about the subjects I want to talk about and also reach people. So I’m just gonna live my life, man. There’s nothing to be upset about, nothing to be angry … where I’m at creatively and mentally is great so I’m not gonna let anybody or any naysayer or hater mess that up,” he said before adding with a toothy grin, ” ’cause there’s no point, I’m … winning!” Related Artists Chris Brown

‘Water For Elephants’ Clip: Robert Pattinson Plans His Getaway

In MTV-premiered sneak peek, RPattz asks Reese Witherspoon to run away with him. By Eric Ditzian Robert Pattinson in “Water For Elephants Photo: 20th Century Fox What would you do if Robert Pattinson asked you to run away with him? That’s the question Reese Witherspoon is compelled to answer in a brand-new exclusive clip from “Water for Elephants” that we debuted during “MTV First: Robert Pattinson,” a 30-minute live chat with the actor on Friday (March 18). The clip comes at a point in the movie when Jacob (Pattinson) and Marlena (Witherspoon) are considering fleeing the circus in which they both work. The pair have fallen for each other, though Marlena is married to an unstable animal trainer named August (Christoph Waltz). His life at risk, Jacob is planning to jump from the circus’ train. “If we don’t get too far, there’s a hotel in Salem,” Marlena tells him. “But don’t stay longer than the night.” “Just come with me,” he says to her considerable vexation. “You think there’s nothing out there for you, but there is. You just can’t see it.” “Jacob, you don’t understand. I can’t. He’ll find me,” she tells him, referring to her husband. “Marlena, there’s a better kind of life that’s meant for you,” he answers. “Whether that life is with me or not, whether you love me or not, it doesn’t matter. But it’s got to be now.” Jacob then reaches out for her hand, offering up a smoldering look that would make Edward Cullen proud. After a few seconds of hesitation, Marlena takes his hand in hers. Wouldn’t you? What happens after that? You’ll just have to find out when the movie hits theaters April 22. Young Black USA Soccer Players “Agudelo & Bunbury” Come On And Save The Day Scoring Tying Goal… Then Bust Out The Dougie! [Video]

This kid Bunbury is no-joke and the new breed of soccer player in the U.S.A. Burnley (20) and his boy Agudelo (18) saved the day for the U.S. Saturday: On the play of Agudelo and Bunbury: There is no more inexact science than predicting the future performance of forwards, as anyone who hyped, say, Eddie Johnson can attest. That said, you can’t help but be cautiously optimistic about what the U.S. put on show after Sporting Kansas City striker Teal Bunbury, 20, and New York Red Bulls frontman Juan Agudelo, 18, came on for the mispositioned Chris Wondolowski and hapless Brek Shea. A game that had been slowly gliding into Chile’s favor, and not just on the scoreboard, turned. The two dropped off, darted, juked and combined their young hearts out, involving teammates who had been isolated and generating a dynamism the side hadn’t seen since, well, the last time the two had appeared for the U.S. together against South Africa in November. In the 75th minute, Agudelo wormed his way into the box and earned a penalty, which Bunbury converted and celebrated with a silly little dance. (*ALL SOCCER PLAYERS IN EUROPE CELEBRATE… THIS WRITER IS A DOUCHE AND PROBLEM IN AMERICAN SOCCER) Later, Agudelo’s sharp shot on goal could have been his second game winner in two games. But while the aforementioned feats were encouraging, it was Agudelo’s and Bunbury’s off-the-ball play and synergy with their teammates that could give rise to a bright future for the U.S. And this is rather good news, given that highly rated wingers Shea, 20, and Alejandro Bedoya, 23, still haven’t done anything to prove they belong. Shea covers a lot of ground and tracks back well, but his understanding of the game is so poor that he appears to lack even the faintest idea of how to use his considerable physical gifts. Bedoya, too, has enough skill for the job — although his left leg might as well be a wooden peg — but in seven caps, he has yet to turn in more than a nice run here and there. He’s either been incompatible for coach Bob Bradley’s system or lacked the temerity to demand the ball. But we shouldn’t let our stomachs churn over these players. They’re young; there’s time. The performances of Agudelo and Bunbury alone are sufficient to conclude that the next generation is at least on the right track.

REVIEW: Terrifying, Weird Nutcracker in 3-D Features the Best Effects iMovie Can Buy

Almost two centuries of holiday-friendly goodwill go up in a sun-blotting, smokestack cloud in The Nutcracker in 3-D , the most confounded in the long and miscegenetic line of adaptations of E.T.A. Hoffman’s 1816 story. Gone, too, is the considerable rehabilitative capital vested, by the 2007 film Ratatouille , in one of nature’s more wretched people: the common sewer rat. This stunning one-two clobber by Russian director Andrei Konchalovsky sent me reeling to the far reaches of my seat. I wasn’t alone: During a critical moment in the screening I attended, one girl of about 9 bolted from the front row to find her father, who had chosen to sit at a more adult remove.
