Nickelodeon Mega Music Fest is a live event that will feature duets from musical artists and the network’s preschool characters. This only shows that Nickelodeon is taking its celebration of music to the next level. The concert will be hosted by actor John Leguizamo. It will be filmed live at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on 22nd of May and would be aired in prime time on Nickelodeon this summer. Celebrities who will be features in the combined live-action performances with original animations are Sherri Shepherd, who will serve as Stage Manager, Colbie Caillat, Wyclef Jean, and The Roots performing duets with Dora the Explorer, the cast of Yo Gabba Gabba, The Fresh Beat Band, The Laurie Berkner Band and more. According to the president of Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group Cyma Zarghami, Nickelodeon considers music for preschoolers as one of its most important attributes and extremely valuable to educational curriculum.
