Perez Hilton Addresses Miley Cyrus Photo Controversy On ‘Joy Behar Show’

‘I can’t help it, Joy, if America has a very dirty imagination,’ gossip blogger says. By Jocelyn Vena Perez Hilton Photo: Frazer Harrison/ WireImage Perez Hilton has felt the heat since tweeting a link to a photo of Miley Cyrus that appeared to show the pop star exiting a car without any underwear on. He’s already addressed the controversy in a video statement on his website, and on Thursday he visited HLN’s “The Joy Behar Show” to try to clear the air again. The gossip blogger told Behar that people “are getting upset over an image they didn’t see.” Though he did remove the link from his Twitter, he claimed, “You didn’t see anything down there. … I can’t help it, Joy, if America has a very dirty imagination. “I feel like if everyone saw this image in question, they would clearly see that you’re not seeing anything down there that you’re not supposed to,” Hilton continued. “It’s definitely not child pornography, and it’s definitely not illegal.” Hilton says he knew that the 17-year-old singer was wearing underwear in photo, and other pictures taken at the time clearly showed that she was. “I think it’s insulting to children to accuse that of [being] child pornography,” he said. “The point of me choosing that one photo is because it was showing Miley getting out of the car in an unladylike fashion,” he explained. “And I just thought that was funny and in keeping with her shocking behavior of late, because she was very well aware that she was in a public place at a video shoot and that there were paparazzi present. “I would have posted the image on my site had I been able to, but it was taken by one photo agency that I don’t have a deal with,” he added. “So, I’ve learned my mistake in the past about using photos that I don’t have licenses to.” In the end, the gossip blogger stands by his actions, despite having removed the tweet from his site. He noted that what he did is no different than the actions Cyrus has been taking as of late, in his opinion. “It’s not actually doing anything worse than Miley herself has been doing recently,” he argued. “From grinding up on her 40-something-year-old director to pole-dancing to all the over-sexualized things that she has been doing and turning herself into this creature.” Do you think Perez Hilton was wrong to post the photo of Miley? The United States Army Tortures Animals

I know this is a year old but I just had to post it on here because of how awful it is. “Charles J. Rosciam is a retired captain with the Navy Medical Services Corps – a combat veteran and Purple Heart recipient. He and 16 other retired armed forces medical personnel are attempting to convince the Department of Defense (DOD) to stop torturing and killing animals as part of its trauma training program. Each year, in the name of national security and good medicine, 8500 animals get stabbed, shot, burned and amputated. Over in the chemical casualty program, vervet monkeys get tormented with drugs whose effects have long since been banned on the field of battle. animal-testingCaptain Rosciam and his colleagues would like to see all that come to an end. In June, the group joined with the Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) to brief both the House and Senate on the issue. The DOD’s own animal regulations require that non-animal substitutes be used whenever possible. And, according to PCRM, every one of the military’s medical uses of animals could be replaced with equivalent or superior non-animal methods. Those methods range from human-patient simulators to rotations through civilian trauma centers. Here’s a little bit of irony: Amidst all the controversy and perseveration over detainee torture and whether such grotesqueries are legal and/or acceptable given the heinous crimes the prisoners are alleged to have committed, no one has stopped to consider why it is okay to do all that and worse to beings whose innocence is beyond dispute. Of course, in the larger scheme, innocence or guilt is irrelevant; Torture is wrong no matter to whom it happens. And that’s precisely the point here. When our former president said the United States does not torture, he lied. When our current president says it, he‘d like it to be true. Let’s hope he hears and heeds Captain Rosciam. You go, sir. Fight on.” added by: Chod77

Miley Cyrus Photo Scandal Isn’t What It Seems, Perez Hilton Insists

Gossip blogger posted a picture that appeared to show the 17-year-old singer exiting a car, sans underwear. By Kara Warner Perez Hilton Photo: Frazer Harrison/ Getty Images Gossip blogger Perez Hilton is in hot water Tuesday (June 15) after posting a photo of Miley Cyrus to his Twitter feed. In the picture, which Hilton warned readers not to view if they were easily offended, Cyrus is shown exiting a car, seemingly sans underwear. “If you are easily offended, do NOT click here,” he tweeted. “Oh, Miley! Warning: truly not for the easily offended!” The public reaction to Hilton posting the photo — which he later removed — was fierce and quick. Hilton defended himself via a video he posted on his website , claiming the photo didn’t show what everyone thought it did. “Miley was clearly wearing underwear,” Hilton says in the video. “Do you think Miley is that stupid to be out in public without panties?” Hilton claimed he only posted the photo to make light of the fact that the teen pop queen was getting out of the car in “a very un-ladylike fashion.” “Sure, I like to be controversial,” he said. “But I don’t want to go to jail.” Salon.com consulted L.A.-based criminal defense attorney Jeffrey Douglas, who specializes in child-pornography cases. Douglas deemed Hilton’s liability “extraordinary and intense,” calling his decision to publish the photo “suicidal.” “We’re not talking about a misdemeanor,” Douglas told the site. “You don’t have to know what the definition of the law is; all you have to do is knowingly distribute the photograph.” The Disney star herself seemed to be handling the controversy when she called into Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show Tuesday morning. Cyrus pointed out that the incident is oddly timed with the release of her upcoming album, Can’t Be Tamed. “Isn’t it funny that things like that, that are so negative, have to come out right before my record?” she told Seacrest. “It’s like no one can let positive things happen. All I do is focus on the positive, and I hope this record does well.” Do you think Perez is telling the truth or backtracking? Let us know in the comments. Related Artists Perez Hilton

Rima Fakih: The Politically Correct Miss USA?

Miss USA Rima Fakih instantly became the center of controversy after she won the crown last weekend, thanks to some of her stripper pole champion photos. That wasn’t enough to get her title stripped, however, and her reign has begun. Much to the dismay of some critics upset about her Muslim/Arab background. While the contestant herself has spoken little about this, stressing that her family observes both Muslim and Christian holidays, others have been very vocal. Daniel Pipes, who publishes a right-leaning blog on Middle Eastern affairs, pointed to a supposed “surprising frequency of Muslims winning beauty pageants.” While “they are all attractive,” Pipes, a former board member of the U.S. Institute for Peace, said they “make me suspect an odd form of affirmative action.” Pipes didn’t theorize how shadowy beauty-pageant fixers might be greasing the skids for Rima Fakih or contestants, but other political bloggers went further. Did Miss USA Rima Fakih benefit from political correctness? “Miss Hezbollah is now Miss USA,” declared conservative radio talk show host Debbie Schlussel, saying Fakih’s Lebanese relatives had ties to the terrorist organization. Schlussel also said Fakih received financial backing from Hezbollah supporter Imad Hamad and wrote off her win to a “politically correct, Islamo-pandering climate.” Conservative blogger Michelle Malkin saw a conspiracy, too – though generic rather than Muslim-specific this time. Malkin mocked Fakih as a “gaffetastic” contestant. While Fakih bungled her answer about birth control, runner-up Morgan Elizabeth Woolard of Oklahoma was asked for her views on Arizona’s recent immigration law. That question drew boos from the crowd before the judge – actor Oscar Nunez of The Office – could even finish getting it out, but Woolard handled it extremely well. Still, Fox & Friends host Gretchen Carlson suggested that Woolard’s conservative-leaning informed opinion was enough for the judges to exercise political correctness. Is that why Fakih won the crown over a blonde from Oklahoma? She will keep her crown regardless, but the controversy continues to swirl regarding her victory.

‘Glee’ Star Matthew Morrison Doesn’t Want To Bash Newsweek Writer

‘I think we should be kind of teaching him,’ actor says of writer who criticized gay actors. By Jocelyn Vena Matthew Morrison Photo: MTV News There has been much debate since Newsweek ‘s website posted a column in which Ramin Setoodeh argues that openly gay actors can’t play straight well. It has caused an uproar in the gay community, as well as with the cast and crew of “Glee,” since the article calls out actor Jonathan Groff for not being convincingly straight as Jesse St. James on the show. “Glee” star Matthew Morrison spoke to MTV News about the controversy. “I think [show creator] Ryan Murphy kind of summed it up best,” Morrison told MTV News on Monday at the Fox upfront presentation . “He actually invited the writer to come hang out with him and the writing team on ‘Glee,’ and I think that’s a great approach.” Morrison said that while it’s easy to criticize Setoodeh, who is gay himself, he likes Murphy’s approach of trying to change his mind about the matter. “Because everyone’s kind of bashing this guy, and I think we should be kind of teaching him,” Morrison explained. “So, I think that’s what Ryan, his goal was, by doing that.” At the junket for “Sex and the City 2,” openly gay actress Cynthia Nixon said she wanted to ask the writer why he said the things he did in the article. “I think it’s horrible. I think it’s so horrible,” she told MTV News. “And I think it’s really, really, really terrific that there has been such an enormous response and so much back-and-forth and discussion about it and people trying to explain to this gentleman why they’re so upset about what he wrote.” What would you ask Ramin Setoodeh if you had the chance? Watch: 7 year old girls dance to a raunchy number

A very controversial video of 7 year old girls dancing to the tune of Grammy Award Winning “Single Ladies” by Beyonce Knowles alarms parents who thinks that the kid’s outfits went too sexy and skimpy that it looks very inappropriate for their age. The dance troupe, called Precision Dance, hails from Orange County, and definitely “put a ring on it” during the competition in Pomona on April 10. The girls are wearing bikini tops and hot pants while they bump, grind, and gyrate, lip-syncing “If you like it, then you shoulda put a ring on it.” Larry Peters, executive vice president of The Hozman Group and rep for the dance competition, says the controversy was blown out of proportion. “There has been a great deal of controversy regarding this performance, and it has been taken out of context. It is a little sensitive now, to say the least,” Peters said. “All the dance troupes do so many different dances, it is a very personal choreography and expression for every troupe and individual. These girls were amazing that day,” Peters says, adding, “They were two minutes of an eight hour performance event.” Melissa Presch, the mom of one little dancer and Cory Miller, the father of another child in the group spoke to Inside Edition about the controversy. “I’m shocked, quite frankly, that people would suggest such things and say such things about 8 and 9 year old girls,” said Melissa Presch claiming the girls got their moves from the ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel’ movie — not Beyonce’s music video. Miller added, “As a father, when you’re watching your kid, no. You’re looking at it as a proud kid who has really high energy, who doesn’t really know what she’s doing.” Peters was in the audience during the group’s performance and admits, “It was the very first WOD event I had ever attended, and I can tell you the cheering and screaming you heard on the video was from other parents and dance teams that were just blown away by their dance performance and precision. There was NOTHING provocative about what they were doing.” Now, you can admit these girls certainly can dance, but is it age appropriate? You be the judge. Ice Cube Denies Dissing Dr. Dre In ‘Drink The Kool-Aid’

‘I told Dre that I’d never diss the man that got me started,’ he wrote on his blog. By Shaheem Reid Ice Cube Photo: Frank Micelotta/ Getty Images A rap beef nobody wants to see again: Ice Cube vs. Dr. Dre. It was exciting in the AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted and N—az4Life days, but the two legends are going at it again? That’s what some fans thought when footage of Ice Cube performing at the Paid Dues Tour hit cyberspace a few days ago. Cube rapped the lines, “I ain’t the doctor/ This ain’t the patient/ This ain’t that n—a always on vacation/ This ain’t no white boy’s rehabilitation/ This is crazier then a boatful of Haitians.” Cube addressed the controversy on his blog , writing that he wasn’t throwing darts at the Doc and, in fact, he was just in the studio with his former N.W.A groupmate. “I met Dr. Dre in the studio last night,” Cube wrote. “When I got there, Snoop was in the booth laying the finishing touches on another classic from the dynamic duo. He played me some tracks set for the up and coming Detox record and we talked about me jumping on board the project. Of course I talked about him doing sh– on my record and he said he’d bless the album. The Game came through ready to spit but Dre just wanted every[one] to vibe. It felt like old times when me and Dre would work on sh– in Eazy’s cold ass garage. He asked me did I diss him during the Paid Dues show last Saturday. I did one of my new songs called ‘Drink the Kool-Aid,’ which got everybody thinking I’m dissing the whole industry…lol. ‘You internet roaches…’ I told Dre that I’d never diss the man that got me started. “No disses. Just style and grace,” he added. Cube, ever the media maven, also plugged his new single and video for “I Rep That West,” which will premiere May 26 on his Web site. Cube’s album is called I Am the West and comes out later this year. Meanwhile, Dr. Dre’s new single with Jay-Z, “Under Pressure,” is supposed to debut Friday (April 9) according to various online reports. Do you think Ice Cube was dissing Dre in his lyrics?
