My Bieber Experience started on May 1st when my friend, Emily…

My Bieber Experience started on May 1 st when my friend, Emily and I were called back for filming after we submitted an application for VEVO, who was trying to find Justin’s Superfan! Let me just begin by saying that Emily and I have been huge fans since November 17 th 2009. The one thing we have wished for over these past years has been to simply have a conversation with Justin. we were so excited and were the first ones taping for an interview that would air on VEVO! We found out in the dressing room that the person who won would be called back tomorrow to meet Justin! We were so nervous but excited thinking that all we had to do was rock the interview. We both did our interviews, then we had to lip sync and dance to Baby. We went crazy dancing over the whole stage and singing as loud as we possibly could. It was the best experience of my life and I honestly felt like such a star just having all the attention on us, getting a real microphone attached to me and just singing and dancing on stage. It was such an amazing experience there alone. But that’s not even the best part. The best part came right after we shot. We walked out with one of the producers asking us, “Would you guys maybe want to come back tomorrow?” OH MY GOSH . The person who came back tomorrow would meet Justin!!! WE WERE SO EXCITED! We were jumping, screaming, and on the verge of crying. I was so happy. The next day, May 2 nd , I had to endure school thinking that I could possibly meet Justin Bieber. I was still a little skeptical because she technically didn’t say we would meet him. So Emily and I left school early and headed back out to the secret location. When we got there, the two producers and director, met Emily, myself, and our moms outside. He said, “Unfortunately, you will not meet Justin today”. I felt my heart sink down into the bottom of my stomach. Then he said, “Just kidding! You will meet Justin today!” At that point of confirmation, I was so excited! We were jumping around, running up and down the halls, screaming, crying, we were absolutely in shock! This was our break! After those 3 years, we would finally have our dreams. We rehearsed some lines, and the director told us we would be able to have a conversation with Justin and ask him anything we wanted.  We were honestly the happiest girls in the world and no words could describe this feeling. And this was before we met him! Kenny came out and we introduced ourselves and he said, “Are you guys excited? Because you need to be!” Obviously that just made us even more excited. We waited for about 2 hours, while Justin was interviewing his segment. Mind you, as we were waiting, we saw a matte black Range Rover pass by, and just freaked out a little bit inside. Finally they asked us if we were ready. WE WERE FREAKING OUT ! We walked in and they gave us our places and we read over some lines. The director said, “Do you know what you’re going to ask Justin?” See, we didn’t really know that we would be taped, so we were just thinking that we would have a regular conversation with him, ask about his day, whatever, but no we were going to be filming our conversation so we started freaking out! Then he said Justin will walk out you have to stay here and then start your conversation. So then he came out, I honestly thought I was going to pass out. He was so perfect and amazing and I just didn’t know what to do with myself. He was walking up to us and said “Hey guys! How are you?” And then said “You guys look so pretty!”. Did Justin Bieber just say we looked pretty? *Freaking out in my head!!! My friend and I introduced ourselves and so did Justin, even though we knew who he was obviously! Then he stood next to me and I started asking questions. I was shaking and had to think of these questions on the top of my head so just started asking. After getting more comfortable with Justin, I was totally fine and honestly saw him as a regular kid. We kept talking and then for a second, cameras stopped rolling. He came up to us and said, “Enough of the fake stuff! Come here!” And just came in giving us big hugs and then a group hug . He was honestly the sweetest person ever. Then we gave him the awards, which is why he was there. Justin was honored with 8 certified awards for having 8 of his songs get more than 100 million views on VEVO! We took pictures and were just joking around and I honestly felt like Justin was my friend. We thanked him for being so amazing to his fans and being so appreciative of how much he does for us. We had small talk with Justin, just talking about random things and realized our dreams came true. We had a conversation with Justin Bieber. After a ton of pictures and more shooting, we thanked Justin for everything he did for us again and said our goodbyes. Let me just conclude by saying, Justin Bieber hasn’t let fame hit him. He was the sweetest boy in the world and was honestly so genuinely nice to us and thankful for his fans. As he was leaving, he shook everyone’s hand who was involved, hugged our moms and said his goodbyes to us.  I could tell in his eyes how thankful he was for us and I was just so proud to be called a Belieber. I hope we represented all of his fans well and I couldn’t be happier to belong to such an amazing Bieber family! Thank you so much to VEVO for this great opportunity. Justin, thank you for everything you do for us daily. You made my dreams come true and I couldn’t have asked for a better role model in my life. Miracles happen to those who believe in them. NEVER SAY NEVER. -Paulina @bieberbabe1994 Click here to watch the video View original post here: My Bieber Experience started on May 1st when my friend, Emily…

Usher Hopes ‘Scream’ Will Be the Song Of The Summer

‘Let’s get going, summer is almost here!’ Usher tells MTV News. By Christina Garibaldi Usher Photo: Stuart Wilson On top of his club-banging hits and soulful voice, Usher has another impressive skill: creating the song of summer. Usher has ruled the airwaves in the summer for years, with hits like “You Make Me Wanna” and “U Remind Me” making fans roll down their windows and pump up their radios to his infectious tracks. Most recently, in 2010, Usher hit the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 during the summer months with his inescapable hit “OMG,” and now he’s looking to repeat that success with “Scream,” the second single from his seventh studio album. “Let’s get going, summer is almost here!” Usher told MTV News. “It’s intended to be that, but I don’t think that was the only thing. We thought about live performance, we thought about mixing and matching and also giving people an energy that only [producer Max Martin] would be able to create.” “Scream” is the latest single from Usher’s just-released album, Looking 4 Myself, which he hopes will not only get people on the dance floor, but also affect them in a more personal manner. “If I’m gonna move you, I want to move you. I hope that it could be something that could be life-changing,” the singer last month during “MTV First: Usher.” “You may be going through something real crazy, who knows, and just need to get out and just enjoy yourself. So I always think about the club, I always think about that song that will be able to let you out of that slump, if you’re in it.” Usher’s latest album, which he called an “evolution” of sound , is just the next step in his musical risk-taking. He credits longtime producer Jermaine Dupri with the opportunity to reach many different genres of music. “If I do track back to the first time I was about to take a risk, even though it wasn’t about my direction, it was more so by Jermaine Dupri’s direction with ‘You Make Me Wanna,’ ” Usher said. “You didn’t really hear that tone or that instrument on top of an R&B record, so it was an incredible collaboration or mixture of urban and classic R&B or pop… that really began to open up the conversation and allow people to understand, ‘Oh, wow, this is not just an artist that you could put in a box or put in a specific category.’ ” Are you excited for Usher’s album? Slap-A-Ho Chronicles: BBW Nia Crooks Says She Was Raised To Smack These Hoes

No home training. BBW Nia Crooks Tells Her Side Of The Story …Ok , ok, that’s not REALLY what she said. Nia sat down with VH1 for a quick Q & A on the smack heard around the world.  Here’s what she had to say: What’s life been like for you since you appeared on the show? Hell. I could never imagine being in this predicament over something like that. And a person that I used to love is now just somebody I knew. It’s hell. Have people been mean, how have you been treated? Yeah, they don’t know me and I get that, I’m part of this story, but I’m just a person that walked in a room and sat down and said something to a person and got up and smacked her. So it looks like I’m bullying someone who welcomed the smack. She said “I wish you would.” She cut the conversation off because she doesn’t want anyone to know wh she really is. She’s a total different person outside of this. Being a celebrity is not for everyone, some people’s heads get inflated, some don’t. And if you have new people around you in your life, and it’s not the people you’ve been around forever, that says a lot about a person. If you could do this over, would you have never appeared on the show? I just wish my reaction wouldn’t have been that. I can’t take that back now, but that’s the way I was raised, that’s how I grew up, that’s a normal reaction of mine. Evelyn: Can I just say I have known Nia for years, and I have never in all those years seen Nia cry — you know I cry at the drop of a hat — and ever since all the negativity and the lawyers and everything, I have never seen her cry like this until now and it’s tough. Nothing can ever prepare you for being in public and having a million people have an opinion about you on a daily basis. She’s just been thrown into this. Nia : It’s not easy. Poooor Nia. Who knew it hurt so bad to smack someone else. Our condolences. Source

Rihanna Caught ‘Off-Guard’ By ‘Birthday Cake’ Controversy

Esquire U.K. covergirl talks about collaborating with her ex Chris Brown: ‘It never occurred to me how this was going to be a problem.’ By Jocelyn Vena Rihanna and Chris Brown in 2008 Photo: WireImage Rihanna might appear topless on the cover of Esquire U.K. , but it’s what she’s talking about on the inside of the magazine that’s grabbing all the headlines. In a lengthy back and forth with the reporter, Rihanna grows progressively more annoyed when asked about recording two tracks with her ex Chris Brown , given their history, including a 2009 assault. “Some love it, some hate it, some love it but still hate that we did it. But the response in the end has been incredible,” she tells Esquire , but soon tries to steer the conversation away from the topic and toward her meal. When asked again about the collaborations — remixes to the songs “Birthday Cake” and “Turn Up the Music” — Rihanna says it was “definitely” controversial: “The whole thing caught me a little off-guard to be honest … especially the amount of … negative attention. Because it never occurred to me how this was going to be a problem. It really didn’t.” She later insists, “I thought people were gonna be surprised that we finally did a record together, but I didn’t see how people could think it was a bad thing. In my mind, it was just music.” RiRi then notes she was surprised that because they recorded songs together, people jumped to the conclusion she and Brown were dating again. “OK. In a completely professional environment. And on a complete professional note. I mean, if I went back to him [as a girlfriend], then that’s a whole different discussion,” she said. “And if I ever do, then that’s something that y’all have to talk to me about when — if — that ever happens. Until then, look at it for what it is. “I think a lot of people jumped to an assumption that was incorrect, and they ended up looking stupid. Because of a song. How stupid. If I was together with every collaborator I worked with … f— my life.” In the end, Rihanna once again reiterated she didn’t have much else to say on the questions regarding her relationship, professional and personal, with Brown and how it relates to their work together. In a less-abrasive interview with Ryan Seacrest back in March , shortly after Ri and Brown dropped the two tracks, she called their work together “innocent.” “We did two records — one for my fans, one for his fans — and that way our fans can come together,” Rihanna explained at the time, brushing off the criticism even then. “There shouldn’t be a divide. It’s music, and it’s innocent.” Are you surprised Rihanna collaborated with Chris Brown? Sound off below! Related Artists Rihanna Chris Brown

For Discussion: Documentary “Dear Daddy” Demands Fathers Step Up For Black Daughters [Video]

We need our black fathers to be there for us!!! NPR recently posted a discussion with director Janks Morton and one of the stars of his documentary “Dear Daddy,” which explores the issue of young black girls growing up without fathers. We thought we’d share an early trailer for the project along with some excerpts below: NPR: Janks, you talked about a lot of relationships, girls who never knew their fathers. There are young women whose fathers were in and out of their lives. Did you notice a difference in the stories that the girls told of what those different scenarios and what they meant? MORTON: What I saw, it doesn’t matter. The deserter, deceased, the disenfranchised, the whatever the circumstance, it doesn’t matter. The trauma that these girls – these 1.8 million, 18 to 24-year-old black girls, 1.8 million – are carrying on their heart, it’s not been given a voice. And what I found is that this arc, it goes through a woman’s life. It just manifests itself in all these different ways that I think, that if we can get this generation, you know, an opportunity to purge themselves of this trauma, I think there are some greatness that can begin to happen in the relationship dynamic in blacks. NPR also spoke with a woman named Jonetta Rose Barras, who wrote the book “Whatever Happened To Daddy’s Little Girl? The Impact Of Fatherlessness On Black Women”. She had some interesting things to add to the conversation about how fatherlessness causes deeper issues further down the line: NPR: But could part of the reason be that – and I just have to be, trying to be sensitive here – is part of the issue here that black women are the ones who perpetuate this by continuing to and choosing to – in some cases choosing to -have children without fathers who are reliable, without men who they know they can rely upon? And I have to ask if that’s part of the issue? BARRAS: Well, I have to look at my own self. I’ve been married twice. I had a child out of wedlock before I was married the first time. And I think that part of the problem is that you develop these kind of, I call them symptoms – the fatherless woman syndrome – you develop these handicaps based on the absence of your father. So you don’t believe that you’re lovable or worthy of love. You suffered the triple fear factor – fear of rejection, fear of commitment, fear of abandonment. You actually get involved with sexual activity because you’re looking for someone to love you. You have rage, anger and depression issues, and then you overcompensate, either using drugs, using work. And so these things come out in your life in ways that, kind of, alienates you in relationships. This is a very important issue and we want you to discuss it! Can we solve the “fatherlessness epidemic”? How can women who have already experienced the impact of being without their fathers move on and heal from their experience? How can men who don’t know their own fathers be better fathers to their daughters? How can women make better choices about who they let into their bodies to ensure the fathers of their children will be there for them? What’s been your experience? Do you have a relationship with your father? Have you tried to repair a fractured relationship?

Miley Cyrus on Sex: Beautiful, Necessary!

Give Miley Cyrus credit: she isn’t just walking the walk. This young artist is talking the talk. Following Miley’s VERY revealing outfit at Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards, more excerpts from her appearance on Lifetime’s The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet have leaked – and they tout the awesomeness and the importance of sexual intercourse. “Girls who base how much they’re worth on the sexual favors they can do for somebody, that makes me really sad,” Cyrus says in an interview that airs Thursday. “Because sex is actually really beautiful.” Sex is also vital… to the existence of the human race. “It’s the only way that we create and it’s the only way that the world keep going,” Miley continued. “It’s ignorant to not talk to your kids about it or make it seem like it’s not as cool or magical as it actually is. If [kids] have a TV, they know what sex is. Everyone knows, so educate them.” Elsewhere on the show, Cyrus goes off on her critics , labeling them as “sexist” for taking issue with her attire. How do you feel about Miley’s view on sex?

Miley Cyrus Says "Thanks for the Spanks, Y’all"

It’s hard to believe that it was less than two years ago when Miley Cyrus remained off limits, a prematurely ripe piece of forbidden fruit paraded in front of mankind’s collective eyeballs like a cruel inside joke between God and whoever invented age of consent laws. But it’s cool, guys. Miley’s like 19 now and has a nose ring and goes to events wearing a jacket from the Designing Women wardrobe closet with no shirt or pants. And she wants you to stare. Really, she does: “If people find that [I’m sexy], I take it as a compliment,” she says on Lifetime’s The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet . “Thank you for thinking I’m sexy!” See, in Miley’s mind acting out and dressing in an inappropriately mature fashion are not just a way to piss off her overbearing stage parents (yeah, we’re reading between the lines on that one, but c’mon), but also a feminist statement: “People are so scared of seeing a woman being like, ‘This is who I am and you’re not going to change it…for a woman to say that she can’t be tamed, and of all people in the world, my face saying I can’t be tamed, when that’s all people really wanted to do- I think that proves how sexist people still really are.” We’re definitely seeing an Alyssa Milano moment in Miley’s future. Lady Gaga Does Not Believe in Divorce

Lady Gaga, who just broke up with Taylor Kinney , says that when she does decide to get married, it will be for good. Divorce is not an option. Though she’s been known to shock with her outlandish outfits and raunchy stage shows, the Born This Way singer insists marriage is for life . On The Conversation With Amanda De Cadenet (so much for that self-imposed media blackout ) which aired in the US last week, she said: “My grandmother… was married to my grandfather for 60 years. My parents are still together, 30 years. Divorce is not an option for me.” “It’s like, ‘I’m gonna get married and that’s it. He’s stuck with me’.” The star explained that her mother and father had “stuck it out” through tough times and she plans to work just as hard on her own marriage. “I want to eventually find a man that feels the same way – about divorce not being an option,” she said. “Working through everything together, even if it’s the hardest thing you’ve ever been through, you just stick it out.” The rumored hermaphrodite and unquestioned superstar also admitted recently that she finds love “terrifying.” She’s nothing if not up front.

Josh Brolin Sought Park Chan-wook’s Blessing for Spike Lee’s Oldboy

While talking up this month’s Men in Black III – in which he does an uncanny Tommy Lee Jones impersonation playing Jones’ ‘60s-era younger self – Josh Brolin took a moment to discuss the upcoming project that makes him nervous just to think about: Spike Lee ’s Oldboy , the remake of Park Chan-wook’s ultraviolent 2003 film, for which Brolin says he sought Park’s blessing before taking on the Hollywood remake. “I love Oldboy and I’m close with Chan-wook Park and I emailed him a couple months ago just asking for his blessing to do this movie,” said Brolin, “because if he had said no I wouldn’t have done it. I really respect his movie and we’ll make a little different movie, and this whole idea of a more Hollywood version of it, whatever – we’re just going to do a different version and have respect for the initial story and premise.” “I’m talking about it nervously because it makes me nervous.” Brolin will be joined in the cast by rising ingénue Elizabeth Olsen and District 9 ’s Sharlto Copley , the latter of whom sent his own message to Brolin when he joined the cast. “He just wrote me an email and was like, ‘Look, I’ve got to get this out of the way – Goonies was my favorite film! Now I’m going to make 20 years of your life miserable,’” Brolin said. The details of just how much Lee’s remake will stay true to the original film remain a mystery, though Brolin did confirm that their version will keep the infamous hammer fight scene. “Yes, by the way,” he said. “Yes. It’s a hammer, a knife, and all that stuff. Will we keep the octopus and the other stuff? You know, there are some changes and all that. But I think it’s really good. It still makes me throw down the script halfway through.” Filming begins in October on the anticipated project, and while Brolin seems confident that the remake will remain true to the source material while carving its own path, he knows a thing or two about woulda-coulda-shoulda thinking. Elsewhere in the conversation, Brolin brought up the specter of his 2010 bomb Jonah Hex unprompted. “I think that was a snowball effect,” he said, citing the film’s meteoric plunge in the media. “It got so much negative press, because we did so many reshoots, we did a ton of reshoots, man. I’m going to stand behind any movie that I do, and I do like the character. If I go back and see it now, I go, ‘That’s an interesting character.’ It’s not the movie I would have made. My intention was to make an Eastwood/Leone-esque really gritty $5-7 million film that I think would have been massively profitable, but you don’t have control over these things all the time.” Despite all that, Brolin learned a long time ago to embrace the serendipity of perceived failure – like when he lost the lead in 21 Jump Street to Johnny Depp . “ 21 Jump Street was between Johnny Depp and I,” he recalled. “Johnny got it, but we were in his apartment waiting to find out which one was going to actually leave on a plane that night.” Asked how he dealt with the disappointment of losing that gig, he laughed. “I love that you think 21 Jump Street was a huge disappointment! Johnny called me a year later and said, ‘Dude, this is awful!’” Stay tuned for more from Brolin, Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, and Barry Sonnenfeld on Men in Black III . Follow Jen Yamato on Twitter .
