Brother Love called into The Breakfast Club earlier this week to promote the new season of The Four . While discussing the music competition show the crew steered the conversation to the much hyped Drake and Pusha T diss records . Love provided his thoughts on the lyrical bout. “It’s a part of hip-hop, man If you’re trying to be the best MC, I mean, there’s gonna be battles. At this juncture in time, it’s kinda safe. When we was having battles, it was getting unsafe. I think that this is the most skillful artist that Drake has come up against and, you know, Drake likes the smoke, he loves the smoke” he theorized. When asked about his decision on the victor he didn’t mince words. “[Drake] took the L.” Puff went on to cosigning Drizzy’s decision of not responding as per James Prince, founder of Rap-A-Lot Records. “I was in that same position with [2Pac’s] Hit ‘Em Up’ and I told Big not to respond, so I can understand because what B.I.G had written for them, it was going to get as bad as it got” he added. Tami is getting married, but she’s awaiting the ring, which according to her, has to be right, and Tami still doesn’t like the fact that gen and Evelyn are friends again. You know, the usual. Cece links up with Evelyn and Jen to get down to the bottom of what they said about her giving out happy endings at her medical spa. If you recall, Kristen was the one who passed this message on to Cece, but Jen and Evelyn’s version is that what Kristen left out is that they were just joking. Riiiight, joking about someone performing happy endings at their business, which could hurt said person’s livelihood is soooo funny. via GIPHY Anyway, it wasn’t really clear that they were joking, but whatever. Jen and Evelyn surprisingly apologize, Cece is mature about it, accepts their apologies and plans to get to know them better. She even decides to have a party with the girls at her spa. Everyone except Tami shows up to the party and Jen and Evelyn are upset with Kristen for running back to Cece with their gossip. Jen, who has all of a sudden become pop off queen, initiates she and Evelyn’s gang up on Kristen, claiming she didn’t tell Cece the truth. Kristen expresses that she thinks this is dumb, which it is. Then we lose more brain cells as Jen shifts the convo toward her legal drama and how she’s going through a lot right now and doesn’t need this extra situation she brought on herself. via GIPHY Then Cece gets emotional and says that these rumors could mess with her livelihood. Obviously. She really just wants them to understand how this is hurtful. Evelyn jumps in and surprisingly says she respects her business and what she does and that it was always a joke and that she hopes to move forward. They all seem to manage to get through the rest of this party without incident but Cece is annoyed and wants a break from the group, already. Tami and Jackie met up with OG, a Lingerie Football League Player, and new entry to Basketball Wives . Basically, OG is being eased into the mix. She’s feisty and she’s “excited about meeting the group.” She just so happens to be planning a Nigerian-style backyard birthday party, but not before Jackie tells her about all the drama going down. Fast forward to OG’s party. Everyone shows up. Evelyn and Tami get a chance to chat. Basically, Tami seemed to believe that Evelyn was trying to make Jackie’s family look bad by donating to Jackie’s daughter’s GoFundMe that time and was adding fuel to Jackie’s beef. We all know that Tami and Jackie’s brand of crazy is similar. Anyway, Evelyn feels like Tami was fanning the flames with her input. Tami disagrees with Evelyn but calls Jackie into the conversation. Evelyn maintains that she donated because the pictures moved her, which is believable to most sane people. Plus, we all know that Jackie and that daughter do not have a good relationship. Then we move on to Tami demanding that Evelyn do her best Tami impression since she had jokes when Tami wasn’t around. Evelyn points out that she did have jokes just like Tami had jokes during her stand up routines and in her Bonnet Chronicles . Evelyn doesn’t do the impression but she definitely makes some shady remarks about Tami’s former appearance, before her Basketball Wives glow up. Tami is annoyed and says she’s not interested in going back and forth with Evelyn while going back and forth with Evelyn. Then Jackie gets involved in the conversation and they all start bickering again. All day, every day. This is what they do and that concludes another episode of the longest (and most inane) game of telephone ever. See you next week. In celebration of Black History Month , the two platforms are working to highlight the “power, resilience and beauty inspired by black women in our generation and generations past” with an interactive United States of #BlackGirlMagic map . The graphic highlights the most-liked Instagram posts for top-ranking artists most frequently placed on playlists with the term #BlackGirlMagic by Spotify users. The United States of #BlackGirlMagic map also comes with the playlist, which is live on Spotify now. In addition to the playlist and map, Spotify has shared some data on #BlackGirlMagic mentions over the past year, revealing that the U.S. and England lead the conversation using the hashtag (followed by Canada, South Africa, France and Nigeria), with New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta and London topping the cities with the most mentions. The ten most-streamed artists on #BlackGirlMagic playlists include Beyoncé, SZA, Rihanna, Solange, Kehlani, Nicki Minaj, Janelle Monae, Alicia Keys, Lizzo and India.Arie. Bri calms down as security breaks them up but Kiyanne gets even more riled up like a Tasmanian Devil. Jaquae is so mortified that he leaves both women, but at the same time, he should have known better. Later on, Kiyanne explains what happened to Mariahlynn and Mariahlynn actually gives her sound advice, which is that she’s dead wrong. Eventually, Kiyanne apologizes to Jaquae and he agrees to start over. However, this is about to go left again. Hold your horses on that though. via GIPHY It’s the last night in St. Maarten and Yandy hosts a dinner for the group. It’s Safaree, Jonathan, Yandy, Juju, Jaquae, and Bri (Kiyanne doesn’t come and it’s for the best). Yandy mentions how Anais went missing last night and then Jaquae says that she was with him. via GIPHY They all look at him sideways because you know what the conclusion is. However, Jaquae says nothing happened. They just shared some hookah and chatted about their troubles. Anais shows up to dinner later but leaves shortly after Safaree asks what happened with Jaquae because she is not about that life right now. The good news from this dinner is that Mariahlynn and Bri finally squash their beef. Back in NYC, Jaquae kicking it with Safaree, Snoop, Rich Dollaz and DJ Self discussing what went down in St. Maarten. Jaquae explains what happened between Kiyanne and Bri and Safaree let’s it slip that Anais ended up in Jaquae’s room. But Rich doesn’t even sweat it. He’s done with Anais for good. Jaquae maintains that nothing happened, but wait until Kiyanne finds out. That moment finally arrives at the end of the episode. Jaquae explains that she was on one side of the bed and he was on the other and again maintains that nothing happened. Kiyanne is looking at him wondering if she has “idiot” written across her forehead. That’s when Jaquae reveals that Anais showed him her vagina before they got in bed. via GIPHY Kiyanne obviously gets even more pissed off, but the good news is, she doesn’t start swinging. She walks away from him and tells him he messed up. Jaquae chases her and asks her to allow him to fix it. Kiyanne has trust issues and Sophia lied to him so he gets how she feels, kind of. Jaquae owns his mistake and begs her to forgive him, once again, but she is not with it, especially when Kiyanne notices Safaree, Snoop, Self, and Rich, who are doing a terrible job of hiding, creeping around watching the entire thing (they’re in a park). She thinks he’s playing games and swiftly leaves. Again, he’s lucky she didn’t swing on him. Earl Gibson III/Getty Images First Netflix, now Sheryl… Mo’Nique Calls Out Sheryl Underwood, Talks Oprah, Tyler Perry & Lee Daniels Again Mo’Nique isn’t done speaking on her Netflix snub and she’s bringing some other people into the mix. As previously reported Mo’Nique did a Periscope with her “daddy” Sydney who cried as he spoke on his support of the “world’s most decorated comedian” who showed off her trophies—before dragging Oprah for not helping black women. Things got especially interesting, however, when she brought up fellow comedienne Sheryl Underwood who spoke on Mo during “The Talk.” Mo previously said that neither Sheryl nor Julie Chen came to her defense and during the show, Sheryl defended herself. Sheryl said she spoke with Mo’Nique and didn’t tell her to take low offers, and actually advised her to go back and make amends with Oprah, Tyler Perry and Lee Daniels, who she previously accused of blackballing her. “I do not recollect ever asking her to take less money, especially if she felt she was violated. What I asked her to do and what I was hoping that she would do, was to talk to Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry, Lee Daniels… Now she may not agree with me but what I do commend her for now is having the discussion that will hopefully open the door to solving this racial and gender inequity problem that we see.” According to Mo’Nique however, that’s a flat-out lie and instead, Sheryl agreed with her that she was wronged by the team behind “Precious” and suddenly rushed off the phone after making that statement. “I watched my sister Sheryl Underwood sit on that stage on “The Talk” and she said, “Let me be clear about something I never told Mo’Nique to take low offers, I told Mo’Nique if she asked for forgiveness from Oprah, Lee Daniels and Tyler Perry then things would be okay,’ said Mo’Nique. Sheryl Underwood is telling a lie, I can’t call my sister a liar but I will say she’s lying. I have the proof of the conversation. When Sheryl Underwood called me what she said was; “I know you’re not lying and I know you’re right” and that’s when I said, ‘B*** then when why are we here?!’ That’s when she got into a big hurry,” she added. “‘I gotta get to the airport, I gotta get on a plane!’” Sheryl reportedly said. A pril Ryan , an Urban Radio Network correspondent, did not receive an invitation for the annual White House Christmas party for the first time in two decades, which seems to confirm her claim that the White House distrusts Black reporters—especially one like her who is outspoken. For whatever reason, they have disdain for me,” she stated. For nearly a year, Ryan, like many other reporters, has battled the White House’s press secretaries, beginning with Sean Spicer and now with Sarah Huckabee Sanders , at press briefs. At those meetings, reports have often caught the press secretaries struggling to explain (or cover for) their boss’ lies and misdeeds. In her conversation with CNN host Don Lemon , Ryan said many reporters today are afraid to challenge Sanders—a clear departure from the long tradition of White House reporters demanding straight answers from the president’s spokesperson. The veteran journalist noted that some of her colleagues are friendly to the Trump administration because they were embedded with his campaign and other are Republicans. Those reporters who ask tough questions are viewed by the Trump administration as an opponent, and Black reporters are automatically “considered an opposition,” she said. The tension between Ryan and Trump first flared when the president asked her at a press brief to set up a meeting with the Congressional Black Caucus. That was in response to her question about whether he planned to meet with the Black lawmakers to discuss his campaign promise to revitalize urban centers.
