Don’t get us wrong, in many cases, it’s a cushy six-figure gig that doesn’t require you to do any real work, and that’s a pretty sweet deal. But Kylie Jenner didn’t become the world’s youngest “self-made” billionaire from her Keeping Up With the Kardashians salary. No, that it was the opportunities that basic cable stardom presented to Kylie that allowed her to go from well-off to wealthy. And while the two families may seem to have next to nothing in common, the same can be said of the most affluent members of the Duggar clan. The Duggars might belong to a faith started by a guy who wasn’t all that keen on amassing wealth, but Jim Bob and his kids are born hustlers. The exact figure Jim Bob’s net worth has been widely debated, but there’s no question that the man is a millionaire many times over. At this point, Jim Bob basically owns the small town that he lives in (much to the chagrin of many of his neighbors), as a result of more than a decade in which a massive chunk of his real estate earnings has been reinvested into local real estate. It’s been almost a year since Kevin Wendt and Astrid Loch broke up , but their split didn’t last. In fact, getting back together only brought them closer. Now, they’re making things official. Kevin and Astrid are now engaged! 35-year-old Bachelor in Paradise alum Kevin Wendt shows that finding love in Paradise really is possible, announcing the news on Instagram. “You’ll never walk alone again,” Kevin’s sweet caption begins. “From here on out, we run together,” he affirms. Kevin writes: “Astrid you are my family, babe.” “Forever,” he concludes, revealing that he and Astrid are now engaged. “08.28.19,” Astrid’s own announcement begins, marking the date of the proposal. “I could have sworn the world stood still in this moment,” Astrid recalls. She writes: “A moment I’ll never forget.” “Just you + me. @kevin.c.wendt you’ve taught me to love, learn, and grow,” Astrid gushs. “And,” she admits. “I can’t believe you’ve chosen me to spend this crazy life with.” “Wonder if I’ll ever stop smiling? Probably not,” Astrid concludes. “In this together, forever.” Kevin and Astrid tell People that Kevin poppsed the question on a sunset picnic in Toronto, where htey live together. “I actually forgot what I said. Like, why don’t you move it ?” Kevin narrates. “And as soon as she turned her back,” he details. “I grabbed it and crammed it in my back pocket.” “And I don’t know if you know,” Kevin adds. “But skinny jeans are not easy to cram things into.” “I was so clueless,” Astrid confesses about Kevin’s plan to pop the question. “And you never get a surprise really by me, ever.” “I feel like I pay attention to everything,” she shares. “And I had absolutely no clue.” Notably, Kevin avoided spoiling the surprise and had to take the risk of shopping for the ring alone. “I’ve always told him I don’t like when there’s too much crazy stuff going on in the ring,” Astrid recalls. “We’re very simple people.” “We were both in jeans and a T-shirt and a tank top [when we got engaged], which is just how we are every single day, which is so us,” she adds. “Rather than some crazy, fancy thing. So the ring definitely reflects both of our personalities,” Astrid says. “And he got a cute little inside joke engraved in it.” Just because the ring was simple and over-the-top doesn’t mean that Kevin didn’t spend a great deal on it. In fact, he admits that he probably overdid it. But clearly Astrid loves it and she loves him. Last month, we reported on the widespread allegations of hypocrisy leveled against Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The trouble started when the couple took a jaunt to the South of France to hang out at Elton John’s palatial estate for a few days, as one does. The problem wasn’t with the trip itself, but with the fact that Harry and Meghan traveled on a private jet . As you may know, Harry has been an outspoken environmental activist for much of his life. As one of the world’s leading spokesmen for the perils of climate change and the role that humans play in the growing crisis, boarding a private jet with his family was … not a great look for Harry. Elton immediately came to his guests’ defense, tweeting: “Prince Harry’s Mother , Diana Princess Of Wales was one of my dearest friends. I feel a profound sense of obligation to protect Harry and his family from the unnecessary press intrusion that contributed to Diana’s untimely death. “After a hectic year continuing their hard work and dedication to charity, David and I wanted the young family to have a private holiday inside the safety and tranquility of our home. “To maintain a high level of much-needed protection, we provided them with a private jet flight.” But as the weeks went by, Harry and Meghan remained silent, while Prince William and Kate Middleton made a point of flying commercial , thus scoring points on their rumored rivals. On Tuesday, Harry finally broke his silence during an event in Amsterdam, at which he explained his decision to temporarily throw carbon footprint concerns aside: “I came here by commercial. I spend 99 percent of my life traveling the world by commercial,” Harry told the audience. “Occasionally there needs to be an opportunity based on a unique circumstance to ensure my family are safe and it’s genuinely as simple as that.” It’s important to note that 98% of terrorist attacks occur en route to Elton John’s private estate in the South of France. Obviously, we’re joking — taking the piss out of Harry, for you Brits. The explanation rings a tad bullsh-tty, but we’re sure Harry is usually responsible in his travel choices. “We can all do better and while no one is perfect, we all have a responsibility for our own individual impact,” he added. “The question is what we do to balance it out.” From there, Harry announced a new venture — Travalyst — in which he and Meg will partner with online firms to “transform the travel industry.
