LeBron James attempt at trademarking his new favorite phrase “Taco Tuesday” was rejected on Wednesday (September 11) by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Unless you been under a rock for the past few months, Bron takes to Instagram to remind us on Tuesday’s that the James Gang enjoys tacos on that particular day of the week. LBJ’s use of “Taco Tuesday” became quite popular among his fans, James definitely noticed hence why he even attempted to trademark it. The refusal, issued at 6:26 PM today, finds that TACO TUESDAY is a “commonplace message” and therefore fails to function as a trademark. #TacoTuesday A post shared by PMW HIP-HOP OFFICIAL (@pmwhiphop_) on Sep 11, 2019 at 10:27pm PDT According to the patent office, the phrase is “a commonplace term, message or expression widely used by a variety of sources that merely conveys an ordinary, familiar, well-recognized concept or sentiment.” .The patent office cited multiple news articles pointing out how widely used the term is “to express enthusiasm for tacos by promoting and celebrating them on a dedicated weekday.” The patent office also pointed out how similar the phrase is to “Techno Taco Tuesday” that is already trademarked by a company in Las Vegas . They stated, “merely omitting some of the wording from a registered mark may not overcome a likelihood of confusion.” Despite taking an L, James team is looking at the decision in a positive light, basically saying the office gave Bron what he wanted all along. A spokesperson claimed that with the patent office refusing to trademark the phrase, it offered LBJ protection from liability if he used “Taco Tuesday” in other mediums. “If this opens the door for ‘Taco Tuesday’ to be open to everybody, all the better. That would be a great outcome of this. The entire purpose of this is to protect Lebron and subsequently everybody else.” Bron and his team have six months to challenge the patent office’s decision. S ecretary of HUD Ben Carson has been cleared of any misconduct in the $31,000 dining room set. Guess who cleared him? A HUD Inspector General, which is quite convenient. The Washington Post reports, a 14-page report read, “We found no evidence indicating that either Secretary or Mrs. Carson exerted improper influence on any departmental employee in connection with the procurement.” The report blames the purchase on HUD staff and that Carson thought “the dollar limit applied only to his personal office — not to his entire suit.” The report also stated, “We believe that department officials involved in this process should have been aware that notification to Congress was required here. The fact that evidently no one involved in this procurement had such awareness indicates a systemic failure.” The agency has reportedly reviewed the process, , In March of 2018, Carson told the House Appropriations Committee that it was Candy Carson who purchased the $31,000 dining set for his office on the taxpayers’ dime. He said, “When I assumed the position I was told that traditionally secretaries redecorate their offices. You know, I’m not really big into decorating. If it were up to me, my office would probably look like a hospital waiting room. At any rate, I invited my wife in to come help me.” He continued, “I asked my wife also to help me with that. They showed us some catalogs. The prices were beyond what I wanted to pay and I made it clear that just didn’t seem right to me. I left it with my wife, I said ‘help choose something.’” He threw her under the bus by saying, “I wasn’t that concerned about furniture. The next thing that I quite frankly heard about it was this $31,000 table had been bought. I said ‘What the heck is this all about?’ I investigated and I immediately had it canceled.” Just like everyone in the Trump administration, Carson walks away unscathed. Source: Sporting News Archive / Getty Former NFL Player Terrell Roberts Shot Dead In Bay Area Terrell Roberts was a defensive back for the Cincinnati Bengals from 2003-2005 and we are sad to report that he was gunned down in front of his family according to CBS San Francisco . Police say a bearded, bald, Black man between the ages of 20 and 35 entered the house and shot Roberts in the chest and fled the scene. Roberts’s family said he had a “heart of gold” and had no known enemies. They said he was not “mixed up in anything bad.” Neighbor Donald Monk spoke with Roberts grandmother. “She was saying that she knew some of his so-called friends but she doesn’t know who it was, why they would do it to him,” he told KPIX 5. “She didn’t know.” Rest in peace, Terrell Roberts. Our prayers go out to his family, friends, and former teammates who are grieving.

Might there be hope for Meri Brown yet? Might this long-time Sister Wives cast member actually be sticking around for the long run? A new photo on her official Instagram page makes us think this may actually be case. Amid rumors of her unhappiness in her marriage to Kody Brown , the reality star took to her social media platform last week to share a new selfie of her and Aurora Brown’s fun night out at an Andy Grammer concert. Aurora, of course, is the daughter of Kody and Robyn Brown. “Super fun night at the [Andy Grammer] concert tonight with this cute thing!” Brown, the first of Kodi’s wives, captioned the snapshot, which featured herself and Aurora posing in the crowd with the stage to their backs. Why is this notable? First, as many fans pointed out, because Meri and Aurora actually look a lot alike. “Two lovely Women. She actually looks a lot like you,” one individual wrote in a comment that drew more than a dozen Likes of agreement, while another added: “She looks like you 20 years ago. So beautiful.” Secondly, though, because we keep hearing rumors that Meri is sick of her situation with Kody and sick of being on the show in general. And while these rumors may be true, it has to say something positive about Meri’s state of mind when she’s out and about with Aurora, who is not even her biological daughter. Meri and Kody share a single child together, daughter Mariah Brown. Meanwhile, Kodi shares an additional 13 children with his three other wives. Yes, 13 more children! It’s quite a hectic set-up, and it’s one that has seemingly brought out a very bitter side in Meri of late. “Not everyone likes me. That’s ok, I like me,” she recently wrote on Instagram , standing up strongly for herself and adding: “People will criticize my shoes. That’s ok, I have foot issues and need to be careful what kind of shoes I wear to not cause too much pain. “People will mock my necklace because it’s not centered in this photo. That’s fine, I just did a little twirl and didn’t stop to check that it was straight before this photo was taken.” She doesn’t done, either. “People talk trash about my dark front tooth, that’s fine, I had fun as kid and fell and it killed it, but it didn’t kill me,” the TLC personality continued. “People will criticize my choice of outfit because they’re not comfortable with pattern mixing, but that’s ok, because I am, and I’m the one wearing this and I feel confident.” We applaud Meri for sticking it to all trolls, while we continue to wonder why she doesn’t remove herself from his unhealthy relationship. The bond she has Aurora, along with other kids in the family, likely explains a lot. Concluded Meri in her aforementioned post: People love to talk trash about my business choices, that’s ok, they don’t realize the truth because they just “google” their information. That’s ok, of all people, I’m one who knows what kind of “information” one gets when “googling” something. The fact of the matter is, I’m living MY life for ME, and I’m happy with it. Just a few short weeks ago, Todd Chrisley was a paragon of wholesomeness and traditional values for millions of loyal fans. Now, we know this guy is one of the worst people ever to make a career for himself as a reality star — which is reeeeally saying something. In case you haven’t been keeping up on this stunning turn of events, it all started with news that Chrisley had been indicted for tax evasion . Todd and his wife have been accused of concealing millions in assets, and if convicted, they could both wind up in prison for a very long time. That’s pretty unsavory stuff, but it was nothing compared to what would be revealed in the wake of his arrest. Todd’s 29-year-old daughter has now accused her father of blackmail and extortion, and the details of her allegations are truly appalling. It seems that Todd is in possession of a sex tape featuring Lindsie Chrisley and Robbie Hayes of The Bachelorette fame. Lindsie was married at the time, and Todd claims she also had an affair with Bachelorette alum Josh Murray. Obviously, whether that’s true or not, the ones who should really be ashamed of their behavior are Todd and his son Chase, who allegedly assisted him in the scam. Now, Hayes is speaking out in defense of Lindsie and confirming that she’s being victimized by a very depraved man. “It bums me out but at the same time, I’ve known about this. This isn’t the first time the sex tape has been held over my head,” Hayes told E! News this week. “We were blackmailed with it two years ago. I knew it existed,” he added. “It’s an unfortunate situation. I hope Lindsie is able to push this aside because she’s always had such a great reputation,” Hayes continued. “She’s a sweetheart. She’s a great mom. It’s heartbreaking,” On her podcast this week, Lindsie stated her father’s actions have “wrecked” her life , despite the fact that she had no involvement in the alleged crimes. “To be perfectly honest, the years that were covered in the indictment, most of those years I was not in communication with my parents. So a lot of the years from, like, early on that they covered, I was in college so I wasn’t even, like, living at home,” she told co-host Kailyn Lowry. “And through college, I don’t know if I’ve shared my whole story or not, but through college, I didn’t talk to my parents. So I definitely, like, would’ve had no knowledge of anything. Lindsie went on to detail the horrific actions of her father and brother” “I just really don’t appreciate it. I personally don’t think that the statements that were made were in good taste and people have to understand like what led me to this point,” the 29-year-old explained. “I also was sent screenshots of comments and photos from [brother] Chase’s Instagram page where he had intentionally cropped me out of photos and then the caption was like ‘family’ or you know, something like that, which is good and great,” she added. “That’s fine if that’s how you feel, but also be mature enough to realize that since I left the show, I have not gone and aired any dirty laundry.” Obviously, this situation seems destined to get worse before it gets better. And if that means more suffering ahead for Todd Chrisley, so be it!
