Meet an Inmate: Dating Site Seeks to Make Criminal Love Connections

Looking for a “fun-loving” and “passionate” single man or woman? Aren’t we all. Well, a new site is putting a new spin on online dating. Meet-An-Inmate (dot) com features lonely citizens across the United States of America desperately seeking love … behind bars. “These inmates have nothing but time on their hands and can’t wait to hear from you,” the site reads. “Even though these men and women are in prison, it doesn’t mean that they are bad individuals,” the company SWEARS. “The majority of these inmates are fun, loving, passionate, clever, reliable, and very sexy.” Obviously not that clever … but no matter. One brunette serving time for vehicular homicide writes on her profile page that “I always have a smile on my face.” She must be one of the gang leaders. Another inmate poses in her bra and some show off curves in swimwear … not that you’ll be able to experience them in person for at least 3-5 years. The site claims to want to “bridge the gap between criminals and the outside world ” by finding them pen pals. As if online dating weren’t shady already.

PTC Calls for America’s Got Talent Boycott Over "Vulgar" Howard Stern

The Parents Television Council is at it once again. This time, the focus of the organization’s wrath is NBC and its decision to hire Howard Stern as a judge on the upcoming season of America’s Got Talent . In a follow-up to its original statement, slamming the show’s decision to hire this controversial radio host, the PTC has now called for a boycott from all advertisers, sending a letter to 91 companies and urging them to consider their “media buy” in light of this “vulgar” new panelist. America’s Got Talent Preview: Welcome, Howard Stern Stern is only an expert when it comes to “looking at insecure, naked young women and telling them whether or not they were hot enough to pose for Playboy,” the letter, obtained by TMZ, reads. Does his decades-lone penchant for profanity, his affinity for degrading and sexualizing women, and his proclivity for vulgar and explicit dialog, accurately reflect your corporate values? the PTC asks advertisers in the letter. Seems a bit harsh to us. It’s not like the guy ever tried to have phone sex with Octomom . Oh… right. What do you think? Should Howard Stern be a judge on America’s Got Talent?

Korean Christian Groups Call to Ban Lady Gaga, "Pornographic" Show

Lady Gaga is under fire in Korea – and not even from the Northern half. Christian groups in South Korea called on Friday for the pop star to cancel her concert there, saying it’s “pornographic” and pro-homosexuality. South Korea’s government has already bowed to public pressure and banned people under 18 from attending, but certain protesters said that was not enough. “Even adults can’t see her performance which is too homosexual and pornographic,” said Rev. Yoon Jung-hoon, organizer of “Civilians Network against the Lady Gaga Concert.” “Some people can simply accept this as another culture but its impact is huge beyond art and debases religions.” The singer’s hit song “Born This Way” celebrates the empowerment of gay men and women, something that many in South Korea, which is the second most Christian country in Asia after the Philippines, say is an immoral lifestyle. No word if they’ve even heard the Lady Gaga hermaphrodite rumor. The star has been in Seoul for close on a week as she kicks off her Asian “Born this Way” tour. So far, the backlash doesn’t seem to have fazed her. “Nervous for tonight. Hope I make little monsters happy and proud,” she Tweeted a few hours before the concert kicked off. Yoon’s group claims to have collected 5,000 supporters on Facebook against the concert and some have also called for a boycott of the sponsor Hyundai. “The Christian Council of Korea with 12 million Christians and 55,000 churches will take all kinds of measures such as boycotting Hyundai to root out this kind of obscene culture,” the council said in a statement. Yoon said he would attend the concert to “monitor” the much-anticipated performance for homosexual content that could corrupt young people. Have fun with that.

PTC Bashes Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 as Sexist, Promiscuous

It has a stupid title, we can all agree on that. But the Parents Television Council believes the problems with Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 – a new ABC sitcom that stars Krysten Ritter as a mean young woman in New York City and James Van Der Beek as her BFF – go far beyond it’s name. In a new statement, the PTCs says this series “is a sexist mixed-bag of hedonism, drug-use, alcohol abuse (including the main character plying a 13-year-old boy with alcohol to get him drunk) and explicit levels of promiscuity that are shocking even by today’s broadcast TV standards.” The organization is urging advertisers AT&T and Volkswagen to boycott the program. The PTC, of course, once trashed Glee for its depiction of teenage sex and also bashed Rihanna for her “Man Down” video. What do you think? Is Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 inappropriate television?

Lady Gaga Unveils Elaborate Born This Way Stage

Mother Monster tweets out a sketch of the stage, which takes on a gothic castle theme. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga’s stage design of the “Born This Way” Ball Photo: Lady Gaga/Twitter Lady Gaga is going all out for her Born This Way ball. As promised, on Tuesday (February 7), the singer revealed a sketch of what her forthcoming tour stage will look like. “I’m so excited. The Haus has been working so hard, we can’t wait for you to see it!!” she wrote in the lead-up to the reveal, before adding, “Love you Little Monsters, have the time of your life.” So what should all those Little Monsters expect from the one and only Mother Monster for this trek? It looks like the Born This Way ball will be taking place in an elaborately designed gothic castle that includes intricate details like viewing towers, cross-like carvings and a catwalk that extends right into the audience, bringing Gaga close to her many legions of dedicated fans. The look is a far cry from her Monster Ball tour , which was set in modern-day New York City, complete with a subway car, lighted marquees and, yes, a giant monster that Gaga and her dancers had to defeat in order to attend the oft-teased Monster Ball. This new tour will kick off sometime this year and continue right through 2013. Haus member and BTW producer Fernando Garibay shared with MTV News in December that the show will be reflective of the 2011 album. “This album was the most personal [because of] the amount of detail that went into this record, the amount of passion [and] emotion from her and the team,” he said. “Every song was a story towards the Born This Way theme. We’re excited now, putting that into the tour and expressing that on a live performance level. “You can imagine what happened on the Monster Ball, so use your imagination,” he said. “That’s what’s going to happen, exaggerated.” What do you think of Lady Gaga’s Born This Way stage? M.I.A.’s Super Bowl Flip-Off Was A Mystery To Cee Lo Green

Singer tells MTV News exclusively that he ‘did not hear anything about’ the U.K. rapper’s middle-finger salute until Monday morning. By Jocelyn Vena M.I.A. performs at the Super Bowl Photo: Christopher Polk/ Getty Images While NBC and the NFL are apologizing for the middle finger that M.I.A. flashed during her portion of the halftime show at the Super Bowl on Sunday, her fellow halftime performer, Cee Lo Green, is making no apologies for the fumble — mostly because he didn’t know anything about it until the game was long over. “Well I know that there’s a lyric that says that ‘I don’t give a sh–,’ and that I know that that part is censored,” he told MTV News late Monday when he jumped on the phone with us to talk about hitting the stage with Madonna and company during her elaborate halftime spectacle. For those who are not familiar with all the controversy, when M.I.A. hit the stage to perform her portion of Madonna’s new single, “Give Me All Your Luvin,’ ” she gave home viewers the middle finger at the tail-end of her performance. Quickly, it prompted an outrage from viewers, the Parents Television Council and had TMZ sources sharing that if a fine is thrown down by the FCC, the rapper would be responsible for it. Regardless of the outcome, Cee Lo is brushing it all off. “Honestly I did not hear anything about it,” he continued. “There was no talk about it in the dressing room afterwards and we didn’t stay long after the performance because it was honestly a relief we had had it done. So I didn’t hear anything until I got up to do the morning show, ‘Today.’ And television is a very sensitive [thing].” In the end, Cee Lo, is more focused on his own moment, when he got to share the stage with the Queen of Pop during the halftime finale, when the twosome brought some gospel to the show during “Like A Prayer.” “It was definitely that chaos moment, just the entire event; just the entire experience was the biggest moment for me, personally in my entire career,” he said. “So it all was equally wonderful for me.” What did you think of M.I.A.’s Super Bowl gesture? Race Matters: Is New Orleans’ New Curfew In The French Quarter Really Meant To Keep Black Folks Away From The Tourists??

This is a tough one to gauge… From a distance, it seemed like common sense: an ordinance meant to keep children away from an open-air night-life zone with more than 350 places to buy booze, an abundance of strip joints and a 300-year-old reputation for iniquity. But last week, as the New Orleans City Council approved a strict curfew for youths 16 and younger in the French Quarter, it sparked an incendiary debate that laid bare some of the tensions over race and police priorities that the Louisiana city — which suffers from the nation’s highest per capita murder rate — is struggling to resolve as it navigates its post-Hurricane Katrina future. The ordinance, which was unanimously approved Thursday, revises a long-standing 11 p.m. curfew on Friday and Saturday nights to 8 p.m. for the French Quarter and part of the nearby Faubourg Marigny neighborhood. In the rest of the city, an 11 p.m. curfew remains on weekends, with an 8 p.m. or 9 p.m. curfew on weekdays, depending on the season. Councilwoman Kristen Gisleson Palmer, whose district includes the French Quarter, wrote the ordinance. The goal, she said, was to protect children from violent incidents like the headline-grabbing shootings last Halloween night, in which two people were killed and a dozen injured by gunfire on or around the packed Bourbon Street party strip. “If we can, in any way, protect children from that, I think it’s very reasonable,” Palmer said. But in a pair of emotional public meetings, a number of residents, most of them African Americans, criticized the idea. Some alleged that the lawmakers were trying to keep low-income blacks out of the sightlines of tourists. “There is this desire not to have these black males in the French Quarter,” said Tracie L. Washington, an attorney who heads the Louisiana Justice Institute, a nonprofit civil rights group. Palmer, who is white, dismissed the allegations. At the council meeting Thursday, critics said the curfew would result in racial profiling of young blacks. One man called it “the equivalent of a black code.” Another African American speaker said that instead of “sugar-coating” the issue, the council should “just tell us straight up — you don’t want us.” Some worried that police would harass black kids going to and from restaurant jobs, or when they were busking or tap-dancing for tips from tourists. Palmer, the councilwoman, said those kids would be left alone because the ordinance exempts, among others, people at work or headed to and from work. Many critics argued that the new curfew hours would seem more fair if they were enforced citywide. Palmer said her staff was working on a new ordinance to do just that. Ronal Serpas, the city’s police superintendent, said he had asked his officers to be more diligent about enforcing the existing citywide curfew since he took charge of the police department in May 2010. Some French Quarter residents have applauded the new curfew, but other New Orleanians wonder whether police, in enforcing the rules, will be distracted from more crucial duties. In many cases, youths breaking the curfew will be told to go home, but in some instances police might take them into custody. Do you think the curfew is racially motivated ? Source More On Bossip!
