Crazy Black Friday Pictures Well it was quite the eventful shopping experience this past weekend as the country showed thanks for what they already owned by trampling other people to get more stuff. It’s the American way. To show just how crazy people get over Black Friday the folks at Uproxx gathered a few of the craziest pics from all the shopping shenanigans. Sidenote: Ever notice how people make it a race issue when Black kids line up for Jordans but people get shanked on aisle six at Wal-Mart over a Stanley Steamer and it’s all good? Just a thought. Anyway, look at the pics and shake your head at the insanity.
For many in the DMV, this is definitely something to celebrate! From crack in the 80′s to being dubbed “the Murder Capital of the U.S.” in the 90′s, Washington, DC has gone from roughly 500 homicides annually to less than 100 this year. That’s something that hasn’t been done since 1963!! According to ABC News , the decline in numbers has been lowering each year: The crack epidemic that began in the 1980s ushered in a wave of bloodletting in the nation’s capital and a death toll that ticked upward daily. Dead bodies, sometimes several a night, had homicide detectives hustling between crime scenes and earned Washington unwelcome monikers such as the nation’s “murder capital.” At the time, some feared the murder rate might ascend to more frightening heights. But after approaching nearly 500 slayings a year in the early 1990s, the annual rate has gradually declined to the point that the city is now on the verge of a once-unthinkable milestone. The number of 2012 killings in the District of Columbia stands at 78 and is on pace to finish lower than 100 for the first time since 1963, police records show. “It strikes me probably daily as I ride around the city, or sometimes when I’m sitting at home at night, and it’s 10 o’clock and my phone’s not ringing. Or I get up in the morning, and I go, ‘Oh my gosh, I’ve slept five hours,” said Police Chief Cathy Lanier, who joined the department amid violent 1991 street riots. “It strikes me quite often how different things are now.” The drop reflects a downward trend in violent crime nationwide and is in line with declining homicides in other big cities. Though killings have risen in Chicago, New York City officials say homicides dropped to 515 last year from more than 2,200 in 1990. Houston reported 198 homicides last year, down from 457 in 1985, while Los Angeles police reported fewer than 300 last year after ending 1992 with about 1,100. Across the country, violent crime reported by police to the FBI fell by 3.8 percent last year from 2010. Though D.C. is hardly crime-free today, and crime in some categories is even up, the homicide decline is especially notable in a place where grisly acts of violence — sometimes not far from the U.S. Capitol — embodied the worst of the crack scourge. The number of homicides in this city of about 600,000 residents averaged about 457 between 1989 and 1993, a staggering rate that attracted unwanted attention. “A war zone? No, Washington, D.C.,” was the sub-headline of a 1992 People magazine story that described Washington as a “city under siege.” The Economist in 1995 called it “the violence capital of America.” Tony Patterson, a longtime homicide detective, recalled one eight-hour shift when every detective on his squad landed a homicide investigation. Drive-by shootings with multiple victims were common, as were witnesses who’d see something — but say nothing. Officials say renovations, the Nationals MLB stadium, and of course…gentrification, have all contributed to the low numbers. Images via tumblr

Drunk as a skunk with a body in the trunk?? Florida Man Arrested For DUI Says He’s Killed People For Pablo Escobar Via Sun-Sentinel After a deputy clocked the black Hummer traveling at at speeds of up to 110 miles-per-hour in Big Pine Key, he pulled over the driver, John Quincy Chaney, according to a news release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. Chaney, a 64-year-old man from Miami, had trouble walking as he exited his car. He told deputies he was the owner of a company doing the road construction work in Key West and that he’d been working for 72-hours and just wanted to get home to Kendall and his nine cats, according to the release. However, Chaney reportedly failed field sobriety exercises, and a breathalyzer test performed later confirmed he was drunk. In his pocket was a prescription bottle for Endocet with his name on it –but the bottle contained two other substances not on the prescription, the release stated. At the Detention Center, Chaney apparantly talked a blue streak. The release stated Chaney told the deputy he’d smuggled cocaine into the country from Columbia, had been involved with Pablo Escobar and had killed people in the past. He also told the deputy that he should fear him. Then Chaney made an offer the deputy could refuse: Chany said the contract he has with Key West is worth 14-million dollars and he offered the deputy a deal — $30,000 if the deputy would tamper with the results of his breathalyzer test, according to the release. Pablo Escobar huh? Yeah, right, you know Pablo Escobar about as much as Rick Ross knows Noriega, the REAL Noriega…SMH
Here’s a bit of Magic City casting news that should have you pulling a magic wand out of your pants- Sherilyn Fenn will be a regular on the show’s second season. The nudity strewn gangster drama has been a constant source of skinspiration since its bush baring opening credits first rolled, and it seems like the perfect place for Ms. Fenn to break her 17-year nudity dry spell. After starting her showbiz career as a Playboy Club bunny, Sherilyn took a starmaking turn in the wooded weirdness of Twin Peaks . Her topless debut came in the 80’s horror flick The Wraith (1986), and soon after she went full frontal for the country fried romance Two Moon Junction (1988). Now 20 years after she infiltrated the Twin Peaks brothel, One-Eyed Jack’s, she’s heading back to the cat house as a former call-girl who now runs her own brothel in the second season of Magic City . Sherilyn will play Madame Renee, an ally and confidant of her main investor, Ben Diamond ( Danny Huston ). Here at Skin Central we’d be willing to pay any price for another look at those fantastic Fenn funbags. Magic City’s second season debuts in 2013, and we have only the highest of hopes for the TITanic twin peaks on Sherilyn’s chest. Now to quote the immortal words of Twin Peaks’ Log Lady: “My log will have something to say about this!” See pics after the jump!
Get this guy outta here… Cal State University Professor Under Fire For Neo-Nazi Teachings California State Univeristy, Long Beach psychology professor Kevin MacDonald, a man the Southern Poverty Law Center calls the “ neo-Nazi movement’s favorite academic,” continues to rile community members with language that some say teaches white supremacist and neo-Nazi beliefs. According to HuffPo : MacDonald prefers the description “white advocate.” As a director of the new political party American Third Position (AP3), he believes that immigration (both illegal and legal) must be stopped in order to preserve American society. According to the OC Register, part of AP3′s mission statement reads: “Government policy in the United States discriminates against white Americans … white Americans need their own political party to fight this discrimination.” MacDonald stands firm in his positions, noting in an interview with KCAL9 that white citizens will be a minority in the U.S in 2042. “I think the white middle class is scared economically,” MacDonald said. “They’re concerned about the future of the country. Underlying it, there is a fear of the future. When whites are a minority, there is a concern the country won’t be the same anymore.” Funny he’s a psychology professor. Opinions like his should be a paramount study in the field of psychology. There is something clearly mentally wrong if you deem yourself superior to other people. Then you spend all your time trying to prove your theory by suppressing those people to keep them from proving you wrong. KAL9
