Donald Trump's America is a scary place. It's one in which Muslims feel scared to walk the streets and facts lose all semblance of importance and actual meaning. But it's still a place in which adorable animals reside, and where these adorable animals can still put a smile on the faces of all who gawk at them. We were reminded of this non-alternative fact after the Washington, D.C. zoo Tweeted a photo of a four-day-old female seal pup in order to announce the little guy's birth. From there, a Norfolk, Virginia woman threw the down the gauntlet, challenging the Virginia Aquarium to give us its most precious example of a resident. And then back and forth the places went, until citizens were once again given a reason to remain hopeful about the country in which they live… 1. The Tweet That Started It All Really, this would have been enough. Just ogling this young fella would have made us feel better about the universe. 2. But Then… … national hero Sarah Hill stepped in. She challenged her local aquarium to enter the adorable fray. And we were off! 3. Challenge Accepted! With an otter/osprey combo? Well played, aquarium. 4. A Bornean Orangutan Infant? Trump Secret Service Agent Says She Won’t Defend The President Man…even Trump’s bodyguards are on some “not my president” mentality . One of President Trump’s secret service agents publicly declared that if anything pops off to threaten the new Commander in Chief…she pretty much plans to step back and let it occur, since she was here for Hillary anyway . According to TMZ , she was so bold in her claims that she went so far as to post it on FB: The senior agent from the Denver field office went on a Facebook rant that has since been deleted … confessing she was rooting for Hillary and would take jail over a bullet for the new POTUS. The agent wrote, “But this world has changed and I have changed. And I would take jail time over a bullet or an endorsement for what I believe to be disaster to this country and the strong and amazing women and minorities who reside here. Hatch Act be damned. I am with Her.” Secret Service agents aren’t even legally permitted to speak on their personal political beliefs publicly…so that jail time she spoke of might just be coming more quickly than she imagined. Zoe told AFP , that liberal Hollyweird got cocky when it came to last year’s election and turned to bullies when Trump won. I think this country has been successful because those who’ve stayed have kept fighting.” She later added why she would trust him as the leader of this nation… “I have faith in him because he is the president of my nation and I wasn’t raised to prefer one person over another. Jenelle Evans has a lot on her plate these days. The Carolina Hurricane is pregnant with her third child , and her life remains the usual tumult of conflict and easily-avoidable drama. In fact, it’s looking like Jenelle may have quit Teen Mom 2 following yet another conflict with producers over the way she’s portrayed on the show. One would think that with everything going on these days, Jenelle might hold off on making any major life decisions until after the dust settles. But this is a woman who sows more insanity before breakfast than most people do their entire lives. So it should come as no surprise that Jenelle is courting more craziness by seemingly welcoming rumors that she’s engaged to boyfriend David Eason. Jenelle gets engaged like most people change their profile picture, so even if the rumors are true, there’s still no guarantee that she’ll actually make it down the aisle. The reports began when Jenelle posted a photo of a ring on Snapchat: Turns out, the bling is for her future daughter, Ensley, who apparently needs some high-end jewelry to match her country club-ready name. Of course, Jenelle almost certainly knew what sort of speculation would follow when she posted the pic, and she seems to be inviting it. Despite numerous tweets and comments from fans guessing that she’s engaged, Jenelle has yet to issue a hard denial. So even though the ring she posted is not hers, the possibility that she’s ready to walk down the aisle remains. We’ve already seen Jenelle lie about being pregnant in previews for the current season of TM2, so even if she issues a denial about her engagement, it’s unlikely that anyone will believe her. If you thought that the Teen Mom drama only revolved around the girls who gave birth on reality television when they were teenagers, you couldn’t be more wrong. Seriously, are you new? Teen Mom drama can involve the moms, the moms’ family, the moms’ friends, the moms’ significant others. It can even. and often does, involve MTV, the company that made them rich-ish and famous in the first place. Any and all shenanigans can go down for these people, and the eventful love life of Jeremy Calvert is proof of that. Jeremy is sometimes featured on Teen Mom 2, since he was briefly married to Leah Messer and had a child with her. These days, he’s not involved with Leah at all beyond co-parenting, and he’s barely on the show anymore, but still, people seem to be interested in what he’s been getting up to. Probably because he’s been up to no good. Jeremy has been dating this girl named Brooke Wehr since 2015. The relationship has had its ups and downs, and we’ve seen some of them on Teen Mom 2. We’ve seen Jeremy ditch his own kid to take care of Brooke’s , we’ve seen Leah embarrass herself, seemingly out of jealousy of Brooke . And last week, we saw Brooke and Jeremy break up on Instagram. It was an exceptionally millennial breakup, communicated through memes. Brooke posted one that read “I’m letting go. You let go a long time ago, and I realize that it is time for me to do the same.” Another read “It hurts when the person that made you feel special yesterday, makes you feel so unwanted today.” Jeremy’s heartfelt meme read “Sometimes holding on does more damage than letting go.” In his caption, he wrote “This speaks so much volume to me.” It’s not clear what caused such a modern split, but there’s been some speculation that MTV’s dastardly editing played a role in it. Particularly, one scene of Leah talking about Jeremy’s engagement to Brooke in which she claimed that he thought the engagement was not a big deal. Brooke shared a screenshot of one of the breakup stories, one that blamed Teen Mom for everything, and wrote “This is not the reason we ever broke up.” “I keep seeing these articles and that scene is not the reason that we ever broke up lol,” she insisted. “Just to clarify.” One of her followers commented to say that she wasn’t even aware of their breakup, and Brooke replied “for like a day lol.” Then Jeremy shared a photo of himself with Brooke, and in his caption he wrote “Yes we have fights and yes we have are arugements and short break ups but we still continue to try and make it work everyday.” “Life and relationship arent easy on a day-to-day basis and never less with a camera in ur face, your a great step mom to my child and the only female she has been around and that makes me happy and i want it to stay that way for her sake.” “Your a amazing mom to your little one also. The day after Donald Trump was sworn in as our brand new president, people all across the country — all across the world, actually, are gathering together to march for women's rights, for LGBT rights … For all the rights, honestly. The Women's March is, of course, focused in Washington D.C., and that's where a number of celebrities gathered to protest Trump's presidency and also everything he's ever said or done. One of those celebrities in attendance was Madonna, who gave a speech she'd prepared about the whole situation. And oh, what a speech it was. Several news channels airing Madonna's speech cut away, thanks to all the language, and that one comment about blowing up the White House. It was a shame, because she really did have some nice sentiments. “Welcome to the revolution of love,” she said. “It took us this darkness to wake the f-ck up.” She directed a message “to our detractors that insist that this March will never add up to anything,” and that message? “F-ck you. F-ck you.” Madonna also said that she's “outraged” over Trump, and that she has “thought an awful lot of blowing up the White House.” Watch the full speech below:
We already know that an aversion to the truth runs in the Trump family. But do Donald Trump and Melania Trump also share an affection for plagiarization? Back in July, the First Lady stole parts of her Republican National Convention speech from Michelle Obama… and now some folks are wondering whether not Trump also relied on another source for this afternoon’s inauguration address. Specifically, they’re wondering if Trump was strongly influenced by iconic DC Comic villain Bane. You remember Bane, don’t you? Played by Tom Hardy in The Dark Knight Rises, he caused many problems for Batman, stirring up anarchy throughout Gotham City as he encouraged the people to rise up against their oppressors. He basically vowed to Make Gotham Great Again in his own, unique, controversial way. Sound familiar? It’s about to sound a lot more familiar. Consider the following passage from Trump’s inaugural address : Today’s ceremony, however has very special meaning. Because today, we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another or from one party to another. But we are transferring power from Washington D.C. and giving it back to you… the people. For too long a small group in our nation’s capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have born the cost. Washington flourished but the people did not share in its wealth. Politicians prospered but the jobs left and the factories closed. The establishment protected itself but not the citizens of our country. Their victories have not been your victories. Their triumphs have not been your triumphs and while they celebrated in our nation’s capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land. During the unbelievably nightmarish, totally traumatic election season … Sorry, let’s just take a quiet moment to ourselves to practice some breathing exercises and gather ourselves after remembering the election season. … OK, are we good now? Have we healed? Let’s move on. During the unbelievably nightmarish, totally traumatic election season, the Duggars were mostly very quiet about which candidate they were voting for . Derick Dillard did reveal that he was voting for Donald Trump , but other than that, the family kept their picks for president to themselves. Normally we’d just go ahead and assume that the Duggars would be voting for the Republican candidate, given their conservative views , but things were a little different this time around. Mostly because the Republican candidate was a gross, vulgar monster who, despite his many claims, went against everything the Duggars have always said they believed in. But if the election taught us anything, it was that you can always count on people to surprise you. And not in a good way . And so judging by this new Facebook post on the Duggar Family Official page, it looks like the family really was on Trump’s side all along. As Jim Bob and Michelle wrote in the post, “Evangelicals played a huge role in Donald Trump becoming our new President this week. We all know that we need to see our country turn back to God.” We’ll take another moment here for your head to stop spinning, and if your brain exploded, go ahead and take some time to clean that mess up. The notion that Donald Trump could turn the U.S. back to God is just so massively wrong in so very many ways, isn’t it? But still, the Duggars insist that “As a new president takes office, we need to take advantage of this opportunity to teach our kids about God’s grace on our nation.” And here’s the point of all this mess … “It’s why Mike Huckabee’s team at Learn Our History created the kids DVD, One Nation Under God, and right now they’re giving it way for free at [insert Duggar propaganda link here].” The Duggars are pushing these DVDs because “too few children know the story of God’s role in American history,” and the DVDs are free because “every child has a right to know.” Jim Bob and Michelle call these productions “positive, patriotic and faith-based lessons that your children or grandchildren will learn.” And hey, “Whether you choose to place an order or not, please be sure your kids are learning about God’s role in American history.” So there are a couple of issues with this. One, the previously mentioned hilariously misguided thought that Trump will somehow turn the U.S. into some theocracy. And two, the fact that this whole DVD operation seems to be a bit of a scam — it’s one of those “give your credit card information and get something for free, but figure out how to cancel our we’ll charge you forever” deals. And people are here for none of it. “If you are hoping Trump will bring the country to God you are going to be disappointed,” one fan wrote. “You need an actual Godly Christian witness to do that, and Trump is a blasphemy of Christ’s teaching.” “What do you mean, ‘turn back to God'” another asked. “An administration under Trump will NOT teach children to ‘turn back to God.’ He built his campaign on racism, sexism, and violence.” About those DVDs, one person wrote “It’s awesome. But their dvd has never been free. Wish they were and I’d get one for kids. Wish Christians especially wouldn’t spread falsities like that, cause people trust you.” The shade of it all!
