According to TMZ , people on the Empire set believe that Jussie used a hate crime attack on Lee Daniels’ cousin as source material for his alleged attack. The theory is that some Empire employees believe that this is where the wheels in Jussie’s head started to turn. That maybe he could be come what is described as an “LGBT hero”. After the warrant was issued it just sat there for more than 2 years and no legal action was taken until now. We've all known for a long time now that something is not right with David Eason. Well-adjusted people just don't behave the way he does. As his time in the Teen Mom spotlight drags on, he keeps getting worse and worse, and there really seems to be no limit for how low he can go. Many fans of the show have expressed concerns that one of the issues with him is that he's a drug user, though we've seen little evidence of that. Until now, that is. 1. Real Talk David Eason is a menace to society. 2. The Biggest Downward Spiral Before he got with Jenelle, he was arrested several times for things like DUIs, breaking and entering, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was even once jailed with her first husband, Courtland Rogers! 3. Accusations He was also accused of domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend, who claimed in court documents that he pushed her around and threatened to kill her while she was pregnant with their son. 4. Heartbreaking Her story was so sad that a judge granted a restraining order against David for her and their son, which was only recently lifted. 5. So Sad And the abuse accusations have obviously continued — just a few months ago, Jenelle called 911 for help after David allegedly pinned her to the ground so hard she thought he’d broken her collarbone. 6. Jussie Smollett took to the stage on Saturday night for the first time since he was savagely assaulted just days before . And he had something to say before launching into his set. “I am not fully healed yet, but I’m going to, and I’m gonna stand strong with ya’ll,” the actor/singer said during a concert at the Troubadour club on the Sunset Strip. Referencing the heinous attack, Smollett added: “I had to be here tonight, y’all. I couldn’t let those motherf-ckers win. So I will always stand for love. “I will never stand for anything other than that. Regardless of what anyone else says, I will only stand for love and I hope that you all stand with me.” Smollett was taken by surprise by two assailants around 2 a.m. last Tuesday on his way back from Subway. These attackers tied a rope around his neck and poured bleach all over him, committing an obvious hate crime against someone who is African-American and openly gay. Speaking to the audience last night, Smollett actually clarified a few details around the incident. He said that he was driven to see a doctor but was not hospitalized… suffered bruises but did not break any ribs…and was cleared by his physicians to perform this weekend. “And above all, I fought the f-ck back,” he said, drawing loud cheers. “I’m the gay Tupac.” Folks all over Hollywood have sent Smollett their best wishes, while President Donald Trump did not address the alleged fact that the suspects screamed to Smollett that he’s in “MAGA country.” But the Commander-in-Chief did say the following about the attack on the Empire star: “That I can tell you is horrible. I’ve seen it. Last night. It’s horrible. Despite my frustrations and deep concern with certain inaccuracies and misrepresentations that have been spread, I still believe that justice will be served. I am not and should not be looked upon as an isolated incident. We will talk soon and I will address all details of this horrific incident, but I need a moment to process. Source: Kelvin Murray / Getty Florida Man Charged With Armed Robbery After Sticking Up Restaurant With A Finger Gun According to Panama City News Herald , a Gainesville native was arrested and charged with armed robbery after sticking up a local restaurant using a finger gun. Steven Michael Berlin, 56, reportedly entered Szechuan Palace and sat down at the establishment for about 30 minutes before approaching an employee at the counter and demanded money from the cashier. That’s when Berlin allegedly brandished his finger gun, reportedly scaring the cashier and causing her to hand over the cash. Berlin reportedly fled the restaurant but was found later with $577. He confessed to his crime to authorities and was charged with armed robbery because the employee believed he had an actual gun, and conducted himself as if he was using a firearm.
Chicago police believe they have found the two men who assaulted Empire star Jussie Smollett early Tuesday morning. The 35-year old was targeted in a clear hate crime this week by two black-clad, masked men in Chicago’s Streeterville section near his home; they broke his rib, tied a rope around his neck and poured bleach all over him. Smollett was treated at Northwestern Hospital and remains in stable condition. He told authorities that the men screamed something about “MAGA country” during the assault, a reference to Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again slogan. Now, the cops have released a statement to accompany a couple photos they took off surveillance videos in the area. The photos depict two men walking on New Street near the intersection with E. Illinois Street between 1:30 AM and 1:45 AM on Tuesday. They’re approximately a block from the Subway restaurant Smollet had gone to Tuesday morning, roughly halfway between the restaurant and Jussie’s home. “Photos of people of interest who were in area of the alleged assault & battery of Empire cast member,” Chicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi tweeted on Wednesday night. “While video does not capture an encounter, detectives are taking this development seriously & wish to question individuals as more cameras are being reviewed.” The images here are not very clear, of course. They were snapped from a distance and the suspects are not looking at the camera. Still, however, it’s a break in the case and technology can be used to enhance the images. “Given the severity of the allegations, we are taking this investigation very seriously and treating it as a possible hate crime,” the Chicago police said in a statement after the alleged attack. “Detectives are currently working to gather video, identify potential witnesses and establish an investigative timeline.” Smollet’s manager, Brandon Z. Moore, told police he was on the phone with Jussie during the alleged attack. He told cops that he clearly heard the MAGA remark, as well as other racial and homophobic slurs. (Smollett gave out as gay in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres in 2015.) Smollett himself has not yet commented in public about the incident. However, we know he received a death threat in the mail eight days before the attack. Guglielmi previously said police had widened their search of surveillance cameras in the area surrounding the site of the alleged attack. He has described what authorities believe transpired as follows: The victim goes to Subway just after midnight and on his way back, he was attacked by two men. They were masked and wearing black clothing. They called him an Empire … and they used a homophobic slur. They also used the N-word. They proceed to assault him, and they throw a chemical on him that may have been bleach, and put a rope around neck. Guglielmi added that the actor returned to his apartment afterward and called his manager, who quickly made his way to Smollett’s home before taking him to the hospital. “The manager goes to the apartment, and they agree to call police. The manager called us at 2:40 a.m.,” Guglielmi added. Kevin Hart got slammed for doing so . Two co-stars have now spoken out as well. “Jussie’s anger will dissipate, and he will forgive these people for what they did,” Terrence Howard says. “But he won’t, and we cannot, forget their actions. They have to be forgiven because it was done out of ignorance.” He added: “Jussie’s the one that starts singing when everybody’s in a bad mood. He’s the one that cheers everybody up. He’s the one that does all the Instagrams if he catches you sleeping…. “Today, no one was caught sleeping. No one even took time to close their eyes and nap. “They were all in shock that our family—you know, the Fox family, the Empire family, the Lyon family—you know, were attacked by a bunch of hyenas today.” And then there’s this from Taraji P. Henson, who plays Smollet’s mother on Empire: I wish what happened to my baby was just one big bad joke but it wasn’t and we all feel his pain right now. @jussiesmollett is pure love to the bone AND THAT IS WHY SO MANY ARE FEELING HIS PAIN BECAUSE IT IS OUR PAIN!!! As you likely know by now, Jussie Smollett has been the victim of a vicious assault. The Empire actor was walking in Chicago early Tuesday morning when two men brutally attacked him for being African-American and for being gay. Each detail that comes out about the incident is more horrifying than the one before. What's the latest on the crime, the investigation and the status of Jussie Smollett? We'll do our best to keep the following summation up to date, as we bring readers up to speed on all that has transpired so far — and as we pray both the well-being of Smollett and our country as a whole. 1. When Did the Attack Take Place? Around 2 a.m. on the streets of Chicago, as Jussie Smollett was walking to Subway to get a bite to eat after he arrived in the Windy City for work. 2. What Preempted the attack? Someone yelled out to Smollet, “Aren’t you that f***ot ‘Empire’ n*****?” as he was on his way to Subway. 3. Jesus. And From there? The two men — both white and donning ski masks — brutally attacked the actor as he fought back — but they beat fractured a rib and left his face bloody. 4. This Was a Hate Crime They also put a rope around his neck, poured some kind of substance on him (believed to be bleach) on him and as screamed “This is MAGA country” as they left. 5. Alexa Curtin, a veteran presence on The Real Housewives of Orange County, was arrested earlier this month on two counts of drug possession. According to documents obtained by The Blast, the 26-year-old was taken into custody on January 5 for possession of Xanax and drug paraphernalia. She actually spent one night at the Orange County Jail and was released on January 6 after posting bond. Curtin is scheduled to appear in court this March for a hearing, which is something the Bravo personality may be used to doing. In other words: this is far from her first run-in with the law. Just this past October, a judge issued an arrest warrant for Curtin after she failed to appear in court hearings related to three separate criminal cases. The daughter of Real Housewives of Orange County alums Lynne and Frank Curtin, Alexa previously arrested in August of 2018 for drug-related warrants and spent four days in jail. There’s a lot more on her record, too… She was also arrested in June of 2017 on a DUI charge and charged in April 2018 for this crime. The occasional actress (who listed her occupation as “unemployed” when she most recently got arrested) also spent time behind bars in February of 2018 for possession of paraphernalia from committing petty theft… allegedly smoking heroin… and keying her boyfriend’s car. Going back to 2014, Curtin filed a lawsuit accusing an Orange County sheriff’s deputy of raping her during a different traffic stop that year. “We take allegations of this nature very seriously,” a spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department told OC Weekly at that time, adding: “We are currently working with her attorney to set up an interview.” Curtin has also worked as a porn star under the name Jayden Taylors. We’re not judging. We’re just relaying some information here. Alexa and her sister, Raquel, appeared on the fourth and fifth seasons of The Real Housewives of Orange County alongside their parents. Lynne filed for divorce in December of 2012 after 22 years of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences.” “I love Frank, but it was time to go out on my own,” the jewelry designer told Radar Online back then. “Who knows what the future holds, but I’m looking forward to doing the things that I want to do.” For his part, Frank told the Orange County Register: “I’m not a willing participant in this. It hurts to even think about it or talk about it. Call me old-fashioned, but I take my vows very seriously.” Let’s hope Lynne and Frank also take the difficulties of their daughter very seriously.
