Miley Cyrus Defends Gay Rights Tattoo

Cyrus tweeted a photo of her equal-sign tattoo over the weekend, prompting debate among fans regarding gay rights. By Jocelyn Vena Miley Cyrus’ new equal rights tattoo Photo: Miley Cyrus’ Twitter Miley Cyrus has never shied away from speaking her mind, and over the weekend she posted a photo of her latest body ink on Twitter : an equal-sign tattoo on her middle finger. In addition to sharing with the world her pro-gay rights stance via tat, she tweeted the message, “All LOVE is equal.” However, the photo quickly prompted a debate on her Twitter account when fans began to respond to Miley’s tattoo with mixed feelings. “Where does it say in the bible to judge others? Oh right. It doesn’t,” Miley tweeted to one fan who questioned her belief in God after displaying her support of the gay community. “GOD is the only judge honey. GOD is love.” But when her fans began attacking the fan who questioned her, Miley defended her for sharing her opinion with the world. “Dude everyone lay off … Love u! Everyone is entitled 2 opinions! If u don’t stand 4 something you’ll fall for anything.” Her Twitter profile shares a similar message: “Let your light shine. Be a source of strength & courage. Share your wisdom. RADIATE LOVE.” This isn’t the first time that Miley’s sharing her beliefs on Twitter has sparked debate. In a Parade magazine interview in March 2010, Cyrus said that one of the reasons she had quit Twitter for a time was that she was getting angry tweets from fans who didn’t agree with her support of gay marriage. She returned to Twitter earlier this year. “There has been so much controversy sometimes about what I’ve said or done because I believe there are no mistakes, because God is the only one who can judge us,” Cyrus explained. “That’s the reason I deleted my Twitter account because I said on there that I believed in gay marriage because everyone should have the right to love each other, and I got such hate mail about my being a bad person.” What do you think of Miley’s outspoken support of marriage equality and gay rights? Demi Lovato and Ryan Phillippe: Dating?!?

Demi Lovato recently went into great detail about her personal life , explaining to fans just what she went through that landed her in rehab and inspired the new single, “Skyscraper.” But the singer apparently left out a vital piece of information in that interview: she’s dating Ryan Phillippe! “It was really hot and heavy for a while,” an insider tells E! News, adding that Phillippe’s status as a new father “kind of threw her for a loop.” Phillippe is 36 and the father of two kids, while Demi turns 19 next month. The source claims the couple hasn’t seen much of each other recently because Phillippe has a new baby, while Lovato has a new single to promote. Will Artie Lange Return to Howard Stern Show?

Recovering comedian Artie Lange said he would give anything to get his job back on the Howard Stern Show. He has not, however, asked Howard about it. Lange left the show in early 2010 after a sudden hospitalization. He later went to rehab to get his alcoholism under control, but is reportedly better now. Stern discussed Artie this morning, saying Lange’s comments “stirred up a whole bunch of conversation that I don’t even know how to begin to address.” Asked if Artie ever personally approached Howard to ask for his job back, Howard replied, “No, but I think he would if he could get a hold of me.” As for Artie’s possible return to radio with a new show , Howard said, “Of course I support it. I think it would be great. I’d like to listen to Artie.” Howard, whose show Lange was a fixture on for years, added, “I’m glad to hear he’s feeling better … I’m pulling for him. I hope he does okay.”

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the new box office champion. It broke pretty much every record over the weekend, knocking The Dark Knight into second place in many categories. But for how long can Harry, Hermione and company hold off The Caped Crusader? Christian Bale will fly into action again in July 2012, as teased in the preview that played prior to all Deathly Hallows screenings around the country over the past few days. Michelle Obama to Appear on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

First Lady Michelle Obama will appear on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition as part of her ongoing Joining Forces initiative to help military families. The White House made the announcement today Monday. Michelle will tape the episode with a military family, the Marshalls, in Fayetteville, N.C., later this week. The show will feature Barbara Marshall, a 15-year Navy veteran who started a home called “The Steps-N-Stages Jubilee House.” That establishment gives homeless female vets a place to stay and other aid. Hard to think of a better cause for Obama or anyone else to support. The Extreme Makeover team will be building a new jubilee house in this week’s taping. The episode of the ABC show is scheduled to air in October. This is not Michelle Obama’s first stop to promote Joining Forces. Last month, the First Lady taped a special appearance on iCarly on Nickelodeon. That episode is slated to air in January.

The U.S. women’s team fell to Japan in the World Cup final yesterday, but this kid’s epic celebration of America’s first goal almost made up for it. Seeing his native country take the lead late in the second half (the Americans ultimately lost on penalty kicks), was too much excitement to contain. Miley Cyrus took to Twitter this weekend for a reason far more adorable than expressing shock over the state of our country : The singer owns a new puppy!!! “I’m so in love with him it is ridiculous,” Cyrus Tweeted, along with the following photo. “His name is Floyd.” Floyd is accompanying Cyrus on her world tour, which is still in progress and which is receiving rave reviews around the globe. Prepare squeal in delight at the cuteness of this canine in 3… 2… 1…
