Tom Jones Stops Singapore and Manila Concerts

According to Tom Jones’ website, the singer has to postpone his concerts in Singapore and Manila. Tom Jones was suffering from “acute laryngitis”, and was forced to postpone his concerts because he needs complete vocal rest. The website stated that “All ticket holders are informed that they should hold on to their tickets for either re-entry to rescheduled show or full refund which can be made at point of purchase.” Jones has postponed his concert in Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa last March 26 and will postpone his concert in Manila Philippines to be held in Araneta Coliseum, today March 28. Ukrops Monument Avenue 10k Results

Are you also one of the participats of the Monument Avenue 10k Race day? We’re here to give you the information about the Monument Avenue 10k Results. For the Men’s Race, there were notable events and really fast PR times were set on that 10k race and here they were. An Ethiopian Alene Reta dominated the whole 10k track and just zoomed away from all other competitor of the race. Reta won the race with a great and whopping PR time of 28mins26sec.  He won the race by just 56 seconds ahead from fellow countryman Kumsa Adunga. Last year Alene Reta was the 1st Runner-Up for the Monument Avenue 10k by Ukrops. The Women’s Division turned out to be more exciting as the winner passed the leading runner by just 500meters from the finish line and finished with a 13-second lead. The winner was Megan Wright, a 28-year old former Canadian Olympian who now lives in Morgantown, W.V. She finished her 10k run within 33min6sec. More than 39,000 runners, joggers and walkers of all ages converged upon Monroe Park for the Monument Avenue Race Day. Each of the day’s races established participation records: 37,365 for the 10K, 2,016 for the First Market Mile Kids Run.  There was one intersting fact from the Monument Avenue 10k Results. Alene Reta was not the first runner to cross the finish line, but a Jessica Smith, a 25-year-old law student at the University of Richmond. Smith, given a 2.64-mile head start in the annual AT&T Dash for the Cash, finished comfortably ahead of Reta. Flying Boat To Navigate Around the Globe in 40 Days

Something might have gone wrong here. Is it flying or sailing? Well, the answer is both. The flying feature allowed this boat to become the fastest boat in the record. It is called the Hydroptere. It is designed and made by Frenchman Alain Thebault. He has a vision to circumnavigate the world in 40 days. If he can make it, he will be cutting the the record of the Jules Verne novel “Around the World in 80″. The movie version has starred Jackie Chan. The Hypdroptere gets its speed from its underwater wings or the foil . It lifts the boat enabling it to fly. Thebault started this project 25 years ago and was even mocked by friends to be crazy. The Hydroptere is traveling at over 50 knots (over 100 km/h) over 500 meters and one nautical mile. Having this speed is really very dangerous. Thebault and his team has been planning to build to larger version ‘Hydroptere Maxi’ which can accommodate 10 sailors and it is one that they wold be using to circumnavigate the world in 40 days. They are estimating it to be finished in 2013. As of the moment, their team is planning to cross the Pacific Ocean in 3 days by 2011. Cherry Blossom Festival Opens Saturday In DC

geraldbrimacombe The National Cherry Blossom Festival is inaugurating with a day of family events at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC. The festival will start at 10 a.m. Saturday and will feature musical performances, artists and activities at the museum for the fifth consecutive year. The opening ceremony is scheduled at 4 pm and will feature a performance by the Washington Ballet and others. The blooming period for the trees is expected to run from Sunday through April 9. National Park Service horticulturist Robert DeFeo has predicted the peak blooming period will be April 1 to April 4. The festival parade is set for April 10, followed by a Japanese street festival. Patrick Trainor, a 19 year old boy, has been missing since last sunday. the police searched for Patrick Trainor, and found Patrick Trainor’s car submerged in a pond. Patrick Trainor was found inside the car dead. Patrick Trainor came from a party the day he went off road and drowed. and now the police are still investigating on what happened at the party that caused Patrick Trainor to go off road and drown. this accident caused the love ones of Patrick Trainor to grieve and mourn for the loss. they held a memorial service in honor of Patrick Trainor. most of the people that came were the same ones that searched fr him. South Korean Naval Ship Sank Near North Korea’s Border

The Cheonan Naval ship of South Korea sank near the maritime border of North Korea, this made the Seoul’s government alarmed. Lee Myung-bak, South Korea’s president called for an emergency meeting with his defense minister and other top military officials and the military have already dispatched a fleet of ships. As of now, 58 sailors are already safe but 40 more are missing. The reason is still unknown why the ship sank, and there’s no indication that North Korea should be blamed. Cheonan, a 1,200-ton naval ship has 104 crews and was patrolling at the Baeknyeong Island  (located 20 km from North Korea) last Friday night. According to Yonhap news agency, some unidentified military officials told them that “that an explosion tore a hole into the rear hull, shutting off the engine, wiping out the power and quickly taking the ship down. A number of crew members jumped into the water”. Also, according to Carl Baker,  an expert on Korean military relations, that what made the ship sank is more like an accident. Christina Aguilera Back With A New Album!

  Christina Aguilera announced last Thursday about the release of her very much awaited fourth studio album “Bionic”, since the last release of “Back to Basics” which won her the Best Female Pop Vocal Artist, come June 8. “Not Myself Tonight,” the lead single of the said album will be launched  on Aguilera’s official Web site on March 30. An exclusive preview of the song will debut this Friday. “Bionic” features “electronic and organic elements with subject matter ranging from playful to introspective,” Aguilera said. This album was recorded in her home studio. “It is something I don’t think anyone will expect…I am so excited for my fans to hear the new sound”, says Aguilera. In addition, Aguilera confirmed rumored collaborations with Sia, Le Tigre, Christopher “Tricky” Stewart, Hill & Switch and Ladytron, and a ballad entitled “Lift Me Up” written by Linda Perry. Perry also wrote “Back to Basics” singles “Hurt” and “Candyman” and Aguilera’s 2002 hit, “Beautiful.” “Back to Basics” album has sold 1,694,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Her 2008 greatest hits set, “Keeps Getting Better: A Decade of Hits,” has sold 338,000. Aguilera also recently wrapped filming on “Burlesque,” which co-stars fellow pop diva Cher and is slated for a fall 2010 release.
