The Houston County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a report about a teacher beating up a student. It’s a question a mother doesn’t expect to get from her 13-year-old son after school: What happens to a  teacher who  beats up a  student ? Teacher beats student in Houston, caught on video……….. Western Digtial Corp announces its Fiscal 3rd Quarter Report

Western Digtial Corp announces its Fiscal 3rd Quarter Report. Western Digital Corp. today reported revenue of $1.6 billion, on shipments of approximately 31.6 million units and net income of $50 million, or $0.22 per share, for its fiscal third quarter ended Mar. 27, 2009. The company’s results include charges of $14 million for in-process research and development related to the SiliconSystems, Inc. acquisition and $4 million associated with the restructuring plan announced Dec. 17, 2008. The company generated $355 million in cash from operations during the March quarter, ending with total cash and cash equivalents of $1.6 billion. Excluding these charges, non-GAAP net income was $68 million or $0.30 per share.1 In the year-ago quarter, the company reported revenue of $2.1 billion, unit shipments of 34.5 million and net income of $280 million, or $1.23 per share. Coyne also noted that WD sustained its investments in technology and new products in the March quarter, with growing shipments of the industry’s first 2 terabyte hard drive and of several new products in its branded products portfolio. Steam for Mac

The platform was created by Valve for the games sales and distribution. They are debuting today with the Apple Platform and this is indeed a great news for gamers as they can access a good number of titles via Steam. All users can now access a nice catalog of games which are available for purchase and download through the famous facility provided by Steam. Steam showed that every Wednesday there will be an expanded catalog of titles available, “each designed to highlight specific features of Steam on a Mac.” Among the notable features will be “Steam Play“, an interesting and striking feature that will allow gamers to buy a game only once but can be download for various platforms so they can play it in Windows or Mac OS X, and other platforms supported by Steam without any problems with the OS compatibility. In conjunction with the launch of Steam’s Steamworks suite will be presented that allows game developers to publish their creations on Steam for distribution through this powerful engine in Internet sales of video games. Nickelodeon’s First Mega Music Fest Lineup

Nickelodeon Mega Music Fest is a live event that will feature duets from musical artists and the network’s preschool characters. This only shows that Nickelodeon is taking its celebration of music to the next level. The concert will be hosted by actor John Leguizamo. It will be filmed live at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on 22nd of May and would be aired in prime time on Nickelodeon this summer. Celebrities who will be features in the combined live-action performances with original animations are Sherri Shepherd, who will serve as Stage Manager, Colbie Caillat, Wyclef Jean, and The Roots performing duets with Dora the Explorer, the cast of Yo Gabba Gabba, The Fresh Beat Band, The Laurie Berkner Band and more. According to the president of Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group Cyma Zarghami, Nickelodeon considers music for preschoolers as one of its most important attributes and extremely valuable to educational curriculum. Afriqiyah Airways Airbus 303 Crashed Killed 105 In Libyan Capital

As reported on Al-Jazeera television, a total of 105 people including 94 passengers and 11 crew members were killed in an air crash on Wednesday at Tripoli airport. Media reports that the Afriqiyah Airways Airbus 303 crashed at about 6:00 am (0400 GMT), killing 105 people on board. Operated by an Airbus A330 flying from Johannesburg to London, crashed on approach to Tripoli airport killing all 93 passengers and 11 crew, although a later report said a 8-year-old Dutch child was the sole survivor. According to the airport authorities, the Libyan plane, Flight 8U771, was flying from Johannesburg to Tripoli when the accident took place. It crashed during the process of landing. There were 93 passengers and 11 crews from the issued statement of the company to confirm the crash but said . The statement did not give details about the casualties and survivors. The airline was established in April 2001 and commenced scheduled services on 1 December 2001. It is wholly owned by the Libyan government and has 287 employees (at March 2007). The airline started off with Boeing 737-400 aircraft, but in 2003 introduced all Airbus equipment.
