Phew, well that’s a relief. Jovan Belcher’s mom ain’t with all the reckless rumors about her grandbaby’s paternity and claims reporters went rogue with a recent report that her son fought his child’s mother because he had doubts about whether he fathered her child. Via NY Daily News reports : Jovan Belcher’s mother angrily denied a report that claimed she told investigators that her son had argued with his girlfriend about the paternity of their baby before he shot her dead and killed himself. “It’s a lie. It’s all a lie,” Cheryl Shepherd told the Daily News on Friday. “That’s my grandbaby and it was wrong for them to put that out there. That is Jovan’s baby and it is my grandbaby.” The New York Post, citing an unnamed law-enforcement source and an anonymous Kansas City Chiefs insider, reported that Shepherd told authorities that the couple had argued over the paternity of 3-month old Zoey on the morning of Dec. 1. That would have been right before the Chiefs linebacker shot Kasandra Perkins, then drove to Arrowhead Stadium, where he shot and killed himself in front of the team’s general manager, head coach and an assistant coach. Shepherd, from West Babylon, L.I., was at Belcher’s Kansas City home when Perkins was shot, and made a desperate 911 call in an attempt to save her. She told The News there was never an argument about the identity of the child’s biological father. “I never said that,” she said. “You are hearing it from the horse’s mouth. Zoey is Jovan’s baby and my grandbaby. I have never had any doubt.” A Kansas City Police Department spokesman said the lead investigator in the case had not uncovered any information that corroborated the report. “We haven’t had anyone give us that information,” Darin Snapp, the KCPD public information officer, told The News. “I talked to the lead detective on the case, and he hasn’t received any information of that nature. It might be true, but none of the witnesses or people we have talked to have provided that information. I can’t confirm that (report).” Snapp added that the case file had been turned over to a prosecutor’s office, and that if any paternity issue surfaced, it would be handled as a civil matter. Shepherd has maintained custody of Zoey, although Perkins’ family — the 22-year-old Kasandra was from Texas — indicated in a statement that it would be involved in the girl’s upbringing. An open-casket wake for Belcher was held in Dix Hills, L.I., on Tuesday, and a funeral was held on Wednesday at the Upper Room Christian World Center. Belcher was a star player at West Babylon High School and attended the University of Maine before playing for the Chiefs. “I’m not going to say anymore, but I want you to put this out there: That baby is Jovan’s baby. That baby is my grandbaby,” Shepherd said. You tell ‘em mama!
The nurse in the Kate Middleton hoax may have hanged herself in part because the hospital came down on her very hard after falling for the infamous prank call. TMZ, via the Daily Mail, claims that in one of her three suicide notes , Jacintha Saldanha was critical of the London hospital for the treatment she received. The story does not explicitly state that this treatment is connected to the hoax. It appears to be the case, however, given one of the other suicide notes, which describes how she tried to cope with the fallout due to the Kate Middleton prank call . The story has raised a new round of questions surrounding the tragic case, which unraveled last week after Kate was hospitalized with acute morning sickness. The parties responsible for the prank played a role in the nurse’s death – and are keenly aware of and devastated by that fact – but there are other factors to consider. Did her superiors come down on her hard after the hoax, in which two Sydney DJs impersonated the Queen and Prince Charles, inquiring about Kate’s health? Could their reaction have impacted or changed the events that followed? A hospital spokesperson claims hospital management was supportive of Saldanha, but they are not privy to what Jacintha Saldanha wrote in the notes. As for the third note, the report claims the nurse, a married mother of two, laid out plans for her funeral. She then killes herself, reportedly via hanging. She was 46.

Mental issues or not, this ‘Man’ is a disgusting human being . According to The Daily Mail , he left her body in the bathtub for over SIX MONTHS!!! A man who brutally assaulted and murdered his girlfriend lived with her months before police found the body. It was only when Devon Epps, from California, was evicted from his Stockton apartment a year ago that the land lord found the decomposing body of Veronica Jones, 35, in the bathroom. Jones, a mother-of-ten , was bludgeoned in the head with a metal table pedestal, assaulted with a foreign object, and stabbed 32 times. Her body was stashed in the bathtub. According to authorities, her face had been beaten beyond recognition. Management at his building said Epps suffered from mental problems and he was kicked out for incidents relating to his illness. Jurors were shown graphic crime scene photos on Friday of Jones’ ravaged and rotted corpse, which was the first day of the trial. Although a missing person’s report was filed at the end of June 2011, officers did not go to the apartment for another month. And even when they did, they didn’t physically enter the apartment. Jones’ brother, Isaac Zuniga, who testified in court, said: It’s disgusting. I can’t believe my sister went through that. ‘I believe the law is supposed to protect victims and I don’t think my sister was being protected. ‘The only thing they told me is that it’s not a crime to be missing, that they have a right not to talk to family or friends, and she was basically not missing.’ Shame on the Police who didn’t respond to the initial ‘missing persons’ report. This is gonna be a hard hole to climb out of. It’s hard out here for a pimp , especially one who just lost his day job. Via NY Daily News reports : It could be lights out for a Con Edison employee arrested for allegedly using his computer at the utility company to pimp out two underage girls. Royce Corley, 27, will appear in Manhattan Supreme Court on Tuesday on two counts of promoting pr0stitution that could earn the accused flesh-peddler up to seven years in the slammer. Corley allegedly advertised his steamy service through the notorious website backpage.com, according to court papers first reported by Mario Diaz of PIX 11. But the Harlem man’s father says the NYU-Poly graduate is a nerdy systems analyst who posted a few ads for an acquaintance. “They didn’t know how to do it, so they asked him,” said Richard Corley, 53. “He’s a good kid.” Con Ed fired Corley “without a conviction,” his father said as he fumed. The company did not comment. Cops nabbed Corley in January after raiding his apartment and an alleged “crash pad” in tony Gramercy Park, where the 17-year-old girls took johns. They also seized his Con Ed computer and taped a phone call. But Corley is no pimp, his lawyer said Monday. “My client maintains his innocence,” lawyer Glenn Hardy said. “He … knows nothing about this alleged ring.” Court papers show cops found $1,000 and nearly 20 cellphones in the apartment and alleged sex den, as well as a booklet with names and phone numbers allegedly linked to the shady business. Neighbors of the lair said they saw johns cycle in and out. “This very nice-looking young guy rings the bell,” said a resident. “He comes down a while later tucking his shirt into his pants.” The police targeted Corley after one of the girls spilled the beans about the ads, which were paid for by the suspect from his Con Ed computer, cops said. Corley is locked up on $25,000 bail. SMH. His poor naive dad. Some parents will believe anything. “Not my son… He’s no pimp!” Images via Steve Sandberg/1010 WINS/WPIX.com

He was stationed in South Carolina when his wife signed their unborn daughter over to a family of seven in Utah…SMH. According to The Daily Mail , the couple was having marital problems before 31-year-old drill instructor Terry Achane left his then pregnant wife for his new position. His daughter, whom he wanted to name Teleah, was given to Jared and Kristi Frei; and they’re fighting a judges order so they can keep ‘their’ daughter. Terry Achane says that he and his wife, Tira Bland, were having marital problems not long after learning she was pregnant in 2010, leading to her decision and his now spiraling struggle today despite a judge ordering the girl returned to him last October. The now ex-husband says Ms. Bland had suggested having an abortion or giving their child up for adoption – fearing she would end up as a single mother – but he said no, encouraging their daughter’s birth. It was just months later in February of 2011 that Mr. Achane found himself sent to Fort Jackson in South Carolina for work, believing he’d leave and come back a new dad. Ten days after his move, however, his wife gave birth to a premature baby and signed away their child before cutting all contact with her husband. Sent to live with Jared and Kristi Frei, who had spent the last few years struggling to naturally expand their family of five children, the baby found herself in the city of Spanish Fork. We knew that we were not done having children, but after years of sudden infertility and several miscarriages … we discovered somewhere down the line that Kristi had advanced endometriosis, and would not likely conceive or carry another child again,’ the Frei family write of their struggle in a blog aimed at raising money for their court battle. Turning to adoption, in early 2009 the Frei family grew their family by one more with a baby boy named James. Desiring to add one more child – ‘a close, similar sibling’ for James as they write – they found Mr. Achane’s daughter, whom they named Leah. ‘Since that eventful day, we have, as a family, come to know that this dream was a righteous desire blessed to fruition by God, and that Leah would be that child – and yet, little did we know the challenges and trials that awaited us in finding and fighting for this little girl,’ they write. The adoption agency, Adoption Center of Choice told the new family that Mr. Achane wasn’t aware of his daughter’s placement with them and he would most likely contest it if he had found out. The Tribune reports that Ms. Bland had given the adoption agency Mr. Achene’s former address in Texas for contact, knowing full well at the time that he was not living there. Kept in the dark throughout this with months of being unable to reach his wife, Mr. Achane asked a friend to visit her home in Texas who reported that the house appeared vacant. Feverishly calling anyone who may know where his wife could be, while fearing she may have carried out the abortion she once threatened to do, he learned from a family doctor that his wife was no longer pregnant but they could not legally disclose what had happened to the baby. An ounce of relief only came to the horrified man when his wife finally called him in June, telling him she had signed away their baby to the Frei family. ‘I believe she felt guilty at that point because she just made a call out of the blue,’ he said of his ex-wife’s phone call. Once he learned of his daughter’s fate, he immediately tried to track his little girl down but upon contact with the adoption center they refused to disclose any information on her whereabouts. The agency told the court in October that it was standard procedure to not share any information with a father of a potential adoptive child when asked. I am not a very religious person,’ Mr. Achane has since told the Tribune, ‘but thou shalt not steal.’ Speaking of the drawn out legal battle, he said: ‘If they prolong it, that is more time away from my daughter. There are precious moments I can’t get back. … It has been a year and a half now. There is no court order saying they have the right to my child. I just won the case. I want to get my daughter and raise my daughter,’ he said. Judge Darold McDade berated the Adoption Center of Choice’s handling as ‘utterly indefensible.’ ‘Once Mr. Achane contacted the Adoption Center of Choice … to let them know he opposed the adoption and wanted his daughter back, that should have been the end of this case,’ said Mr. McDade. ‘This is a case of human trafficking,’ Mr. Achane’s attorney Mark Wiser told the Tribune. ‘Children are being bought and sold. It is one thing what [adoption agencies] have been doing with unmarried biological fathers. It is in a new area when they are trying to take a child away from a married father who wants to have his child.’ When an attorney for the Frei family contacted Mr. Achane, asking him to consent to the adoption, he said no and demanded his little girl returned to him – to the Frei family’s complete surprise. ‘Over the last 19 months, despite the law requiring that a father show interest in his child and at least attempt regular communication to establish a bond, the father has never shown any interest in Leah other than to hire an attorney,’ the family writes in their blog. Despite the judge’s order to return the child within 60 days, the family now asks that his parental rights granting him custody of her be terminated. They accuse him of abandoning both the mother and baby during her pregnancy and therefore demonstrating no capability for raising the girl. Not going down without a fight, the Freis vow to appeal the judge’s decision, asking friends and family to support their case financially through their blog. They note having paid for ‘two already expensive adoptions (each costing around $25,000),’ with a continuing fight only requiring more money. Their online petition has since raised more than $20,000. A hearing has been set for January 16th of next year on the child’s transition back to her father. We know plenty of good fathers out there that get a bad rap. This family, their supporters who are giving them donations (wtf), and his ‘wife’ should be ashamed of themselves. Give the MAN his daughter back!! SMH Images via facebook
